Casa Camper has thought of almost everything. Each room is actually two rooms. One's a bedroom, and the other just across the hall is more of a lounge-like area. I slept in the bedroom and used the other room as an office. For me, it was actually super convenient to be able to have that separation. There's a 24-hour self-service food area where you can get tea, coffee, soup, fruit, salad, bread and other goodies. This is especially helpful if you need a snack between meetings (or at a random hour of the night due to jet lag.) There are also trays available so you can take your food up to your room. The staff is more than happy to help you chart out a course. When I explained some of the sites I wanted to see, and that I wanted to get there on foot, one staff member showed me on the lobby's large map and was careful to point out where I should avoid going at night and alone. Little details like the Camper rubber slippers and the Shaker-inspired aluminum peg rail in the room make the place feel homey and well designed. A lot of the hotels I stay in for work aren't ones I'd necessarily take a loved one to, but Casa Camper's a place that's perfect for both business and pleasure. It's centrally situated to many of the great neighbourhoods of the city: Barri Gotic, El Born, L'Eixample and from here you'll be in the middle of it all. I feel obliged to warn other visitors that every single time I mentioned that I was shacking up in El Raval, the Barcelonés I was with warned me about the potential for pick pocketing. To combat this possibility I left most valuables in my room's safe and ventured out wearing a cross body purse (which I happen to think is a pretty good idea in any major city.) I felt perfectly safe in the neighbourhood but it is worth noting that some parts of it can be considered rough. Still, there's plenty of activity almost all the time around here and Casa Camper is situated just near the Museu de Arte Contemporani de Barcelona (Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art). The wifi is a little spotty but I'm used to that in Europe. For me, this Barcelona hotel's right up there with some of my other favourites around the world: Hollmann Beletage, Vienna; The ACE, New York; The Drake, Toronto; The Hoxton, London; The Soho House, Berlin; The Louis, Munich; CitizenM, Amsterdam. If you can't get into the Casa Camper, I recommend the Room Mate Emma in nearby L'Eixample.

This boutique hotel is fantastic! The location is perfect for exploring the sites around Barcelona. The rooms are fine for 2 people and each room has a separate sitting area complete with a tv and hammock across the hall. I've never seen anything like it. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast good. They'll even make you omelettes, bacon and pancakes if you request it. We spent a couple of late afternoons on the roof enjoying a bottle of cava. We brought our own but there is also a "bar of honesty" where you select your beverage of choice and note down your room number. The only challenge we had was getting to the hotel as we had driven in from outside the city. We were able to find underground parking less than 1/4 mile away, but parking is not cheap. Next time we'll ditch the car and take public transit in.

What a great hotel. Central location, a unique design, and comfortable. I visited Barcelona with friends from Asia. We wanted to stay in the Raval area and wanted something 'different.' I'd read about Casa Camper and had a few pairs of their (excellent) shoes - so we decided to spend a couple of nights at the hotel. It's a very modern smaller hotel. The design is contemporary. My king room had a bathroom with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to a wall planted with ivy. So much more interesting than most bathrooms (you could use the black-out curtains to limit the light coming into the room). The bed was comfortable and the room filled with unusual items. Although the hotel does not have an in-house restaurant or bar (no need in that part of Barcelona as you can walk a few steps away for either), next door to Casa Camper is the excellent Dos Pallilos, run by a former chef at elBulli. It's a mashup of Spanish and Asian cuisine. There is a self-serve food 'room' at Casa Camper where you can grab a snack or drink - as well as breakfast in the morning. A very cool, casual idea - and all of the food is gratis. Definitely enjoyed my stay at Casa Camper in Barcelona - and will have to try their other location in the Mitte section of Berlin. Recommended.

Great location and friendly staff. Loved the terrace and endless snacks. Can't wait to come back with my family.

Excellent, fun, quirky hotel. I loved the facg that the bedrooms are separated into a sleep area and a work/relax area. I will be back!

Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. Since it's in the narrow alleys of Gothic, arriving at the front door via taxi is difficult, especially if the streets are very crowded. However, it's pretty easy to walk to from the main street if you're OK with walking about five minutes. When we left for the airport, we were able to coordinate a taxi pick up with the front desk. Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.
