Ever since then if there's a Drury Inn during our road trip, you bet we going to be staying there! I love that they have a 5:30 kickback hour with hot hors d'oeuvres with refreshing cold alcoholic drinks and soft drinks! We got here a bit late so we totally missed out, bummer! We were able to have some freshly popped popcorn! Staff are beyond chill and super welcoming! They gave us the full rundown on all the perks. Check in was quick easy and delightful! We went to our room and it was so clean and comfortable! Just what we needed after a long road trip! If only we could stay a bit longer but sadly our road trip is about to end! Boo! I totally recommend everyone to stay here! It's a 10 out of 10! Run don't walk and book your room! You're welcome!

Most folks reviewed Starlight Canyon after a weekend retreat with their fiancés, spouse or…read moresignificant other... It's that kind of place. Lol. I am the single mom who brought her kids here to share the Mesquite room on October 9-10, 2022. This bed and breakfast is located in a somewhat remote area of Amarillo, Texas. The surrounding landscape is a bit reminiscent of Palo Duro Canyon - which is just a short drive away - but not in an extreme way that the Lone Star state park yields. The view from the hot tub at 7:30PM was amazing with a glorious display of sunset colors. Robes were provided behind the bathroom door. Near the pond on the old red, white, and blue amusement park ride chair, we found a walking stick. A friendly orange Tabby cat kept returning to our front door. My 8 and 9-year-old couldn't resist petting the stray feline. We weren't crazy about the continental breakfast which comprised of a cherry turnover, Yoplait yogurt, and Tropicana apple juice so we'll pass on that if we don't stay on a morning when they offer a hot meal. Just a couple of other cons: I leave to pick up pizza in town and someone takes my spot in front of our door. Lol. Also, my stupid Sprint/T-mobile coverage was terrible here. The other accomodations definitely overrode the somewhat lacking Monday morning breakfast: quiet neighborhood, calm weather, microwave, mini fridge, iron & board, lots of programs on the TV, free Wi-Fi, walk-in shower, and private gated area with code access.

We stayed in the Pinion. The positives. It's remote and really close to Palo Duro Canyon (18 minutes) That was nice. It's about 12 minutes from the Big Texan. It's in a pretty setting. The bed was comfy. We stay at B&B's because there is a level of expectation where hospitality takes over and you feel like you were being treated like royalty. This is not that place. It almost felt like our stay was a little bit of an inconvenience. The room is small and very dated, but covered in wood plank and not very clean. A lot of dust. This particular room did not have a shower and only a bath tub with the hot water trickles out. I'm not joking. It took about 30 minutes to fill the bathtub. Tip 1. Make sure to ask if the room you are booking has a shower if you're needing a shower for medical reasons or handicap accessibility. According to one of the reviews, and in their pictures, there appeared to be a nice shower in the mesquite, but we weren't given the chance to stay there. Once you get in the room, you're given two towels for the bath and two towels for the hot tub. I uncovered the hot tub to see that the water was very cloudy and it wasn't a result of the bubbles. So I put the cover right back on. They don't give you anything with respect to toiletries when it comes to soap or shampoo or lotions or bath bomb. So it really does feel like you're not being pampered. Bed And Breakfast should always feel like you're being pampered. And inside the room, you're not giving any type of bottled water, filtered water and so you rely on the bathroom sink in the bathroom tub. Which I thought was really bad. The outside of the room was covered in Pineneedles on the walkway, and so we tracked some into a room. When we were trying to get into the door, some even to get into the wheels of our suitcase. It was kind of annoying. The area is just really dated and not well kept. However, that does give it a very rustic feel and so if you're into that kind of thing that it may suit your fancy. It does have a really cute cat that keeps you company in the random deer that you will see from time to time. Overall, I'm sure it meets the needs of a specific clientele that would enjoy that atmosphere but when I go to a bed-and-breakfast, I consider myself to be high maintenance. So they certainly could meet the need a specific individuals however, it's not a place that I would really return to .

The front desk staff was pretty flat about it all, stating there are no more rooms, so we were like a captive audience. Paid full price, no concessions at all, for misery during a long road trip. Really unfortunate. None of us slept well. When we woke and quickly left in the morning, the hallway was at least 10 degrees cooler than our room. Honestly, don't sell the room (or at least discount it) if it's that bad and you know it! No continental or provided breakfast either. You can buy breakfast from a "cafe". For over $200 for one night. We could have stayed anywhere else, we should have, but we didn't know the room condition until we had all our things in the room and it was 11:00 at night already. Certainly our bad for not just leaving, but my experience is my experience, so here we are. Go anywhere else, any other hotel in the area, any campground, any motel six! Stop at Walmart and buy a pup tent!!!You'll have a better night stay! This place is ridiculous. I don't know what the hell happened to it, but I know that it started off well, like a typical Hampton Inn, but very quickly, in a matter of just a few years has turned into a complete mess. Look, I get it, I understand that good help is hard to find, but surely you can do better than mean people at the desk at night with no personality and lousy attitudes. Surely your maintenance staff can do better than to leave a room flooded with water and allow it to be rented to a customer for the evening for over $200! Surely you can at least plug in all of the lamps, microwave, coffee, pot! Why would you want a customer/traveler, to have to plug-in all the appliances? You can provide a clean bathroom with working valves in the shower! (seriously, this was stupid) And then for the "free breakfast", I really don't want to get it started on that, but, You can do better than just phone it in. We've stayed here multiple times in the past years, happy to say, we will never stay there again! What a shame. Hampton Inn corporation, should be looking into this mess over here in Amarillo.

Front desk refused, manager, Mark Argenbright refused. They said my wife was unable to move because she was traveling with our dog and they were unable to clean the room. I find this really weird. They said they could not use the room for anyone else because of our pet. But they refunded our money and now can't use the room. And Mark claims I have written other reviews, but this is my first. I guess Mark doesn't mind refusing service to loyal customers who are Gold members. I guess since they sell out occasionally, they can ignore loyal customers, but that is wholly up to Mark in this case. So, Mark refunded the room and we left. He claimed it was because I have left multiple negative reviews - which is impossible, this is my first one. It will be my only one, because we will never stay there again. Mark spoke very rudely publicly to my wife. He never offered to have engineering check the room. Honestly, I am just stunned by the behavior of a manager toward guests they obviously don't care about. As my wife left, Mark said across the lobby - "good luck finding somewhere else to stay." No problem there Mark, my wife is already at another Hilton property in Amarillo. One that cares about their customers, has a welcoming front desk staff.
