Fantastic experience with HYP at Sat Power Flow with Susan W. She is an amazing yogi and, while the class was full, I never felt crowded. The community spirit was so present that I felt completely present. It was hot with humidity but totally bearable due to inspiration (& perspiration) of Susan and everyone in the class. My body accomplished some new strength and I wasn't able to do some things, but it was all good. Susan is an excellent yoga guide - just listen to her cues and you can follow the class with your eyes closed. I came as a first time visitor from Atlanta and felt most welcome. I may have found my Memphis fitness home. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The studio has 2 showers - when I was there, no soap in the shower so I used my shampoo. Blow dryer and deodorant, Qtips, paper towels supplied. They also have water for purchase, yoga towels and mats for rent. So, a wonderful experience and I will enjoy my unlimited one week class deal during this visit and happily come back for more! read more

4.5 stars?... I've started going here again recently on account of a groupon. It's a pass that allows me to go to unlimited classes so I get to try out different instructors and styles they offer. I'm glad I came back. I really do enjoy this studio. The locker room and studios are always clean. All of the instructors have been very kind and motivating. All of the classes have pushed me, but in different ways. For example: Tabata flow with Rachel is fast-paced cardio blocks interspersed with flow. Loved it. Charlie leads class with a high energy vocal coaching on alignment during your flow. It's great and reminds me to pay attention to the small things. Espresso flow with Sloan may be my favorite so far. The flow she put together for class was challenging but I was able to keep up and finish the entire class. I really enjoyed how she guides class. I like 45 minute classes because I'm a sissy and 60-min of heat is too much at the moment. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is still because of the size of the classes compared to the smaller room sizes. I would love if this studio was larger (I'm sure the instructors would too). There are so many people in some classes that it's difficult to not touch your neighbor. BUT: instructors are aware of this and may modify class in a way that makes you less likely to smack someone. And everyone who comes to the classes is nice and focused on their own practice, but aware of their neighbors. Get there early if you're looking for a specific spot. read more

I had the pleasure of attending the 5:45am class with Lauren after an invitation of a co-worker at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As a newbie on the mat (third time ever) and knowing this was a more challenging class I was a little apprehensive. Lauren took all those concerns away and was so kind and easy to approach. The class does get a little crowded but even as a newbie I never felt uncomfortable or out of space. I can't recommend this studio enough. One of the best yoga classes I've taken in a while! What I walked into was totally different than expected. I liked that the rooms are small and you can do the class with two other people or solo if preferred. I initially thought the instructor would be present in person, meanwhile you watch the class on screen emulating the poses you see on video. The room gets really hot but you push through the exercise to get the full experience. I would definitely try it again! read more

Hot Yoga Plus is by far the best yoga studio I have ever been to. I travel for work so I discovered them in Nashville and was thrilled last spring when they opened the studio close to my house in Memphis. Before Hot Yoga Plus I practiced yoga inconsistently, but the community and the teachers are so enjoyable that it has become a part of my lifestyle. Unlike other styles of yoga/studios they give you a wide range of class styles and lengths so that you can easily work it into your schedule. I highly recommend Hot Yoga Plus! read more

I've done yoga off and on for the past 15 years...13 of those years were spent in Los Angeles - a city filled with wonderful yoga options. I like to try all different styles of yoga, but prefer a strong vinyasa flow style class in a slightly heated room. Imagine my great pleasure when Hot Yoga Plus opened a location in Memphis. To be fair, I haven't done a lot of yoga at other studios in Memphis, but I feel like this studio has a unique niche. They primarily offer 2 types of classes - 1) Power vinyasa flow and 2) Bikram-style 26 posture series. They also have restorative/stretch classes 3 times a week. The classes vary in length from 60-75 minutes. The studio is clean and the instructors make you feel comfortable in their classes regardless of your level or previous yoga experience. The class rates at this studio do seem just slightly higher than other studios in the area at $20/drop-in and $165/month; however, they have a variety of long-term class packages that can bring the per class rate down significantly. It seems like they are still working out a few kinks with their heating system and they do not yet offer as many class time options as some other yoga studios, but this studio is still young (just opened in June), so I expect to see more classes offered as they become more established. I definitely recommend checking out this studio if 1) you want a more challenging/athletic yoga class or 2) you want to do Bikram yoga without getting yelled at by the instructors. They have a great $50 for 2weeks unlimited for first-timers. I've come to love this studio and ALWAYS leave feeling better than I did when I walked in. read more

I was a member at HYP Nashville for a couple of years and was sorry to hear that they were closing their Nashville location. With that said, their customer service during the last six months in business was horrible. For months before they announced their closure, I tried to get in touch with someone who worked there for questions regarding my membership and COVID safety with no response. I called and emailed multiple times with zero communication. When I received the email announcing the close, I tried to get in touch again to find out how they were reimbursing for unused memberships, and again, no response at all. I eventually filed a dispute with my credit card to get the money back, and to this day have heard nothing from HYP. **If you are considering a membership here, be forwarned that their communication has been unacceptable, no refunds were issued or even discussed in the midst of this global health crisis, and COVID safety was grossly mishandled. read more

I signed up for a drop-in class online, and loved my 75 minute power flow session! The instructor was awesome, giving me one-on-one pose adjustments, and even provided a welcome ice-cold washcloth scented with lavender at the end of class. The class size was perfect, and even the other folks in class were open and friendly. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in town for a bit, or if you are looking for a good place to practice here in Memphis. Thanks guys! read more

I was very excited to hear about a hot yoga studio that is close to my house. The one I used to go to was too crowded and had carpets. If you've done hot yoga, you know that viewing buckets of perspiration dropping on carpets is a gross thing to contemplate. The new studio had wood floors and everything was clean, so my first visit was positive. They require reservations, and I thought this would control the crowded classroom. However, the second time I visited, they had a large turnout, and instead of turning people without reservations away, they let everyone come into the class. I promise, every mat was no more than one inch a part. You had to be careful not to let your leg hit someone's eye. There is also the hygiene problem of being that close to participants in a 100 degree room. That was my last visit. The facility is nice, and, again, the place was packed; therefore, this must not bother some people. However, it was not for me. read more
