When I came in I headed toward the order pickup section. When I arrived at the "self pickup", nothing made sense. I didn't have anything that corresponded to the number system they had so I didn't know where the heck to pick up my item. Their site didn't indicate they offered curbside pickup (I checked my email just in case I'd misunderstood how I was to pick it up). I called and was on hold about six minutes because no one ever picked up. (There were 20+ people in line and I didn't want to wait around there just to be told to go elsewhere; what's the point of pickup if not to be quick?) Finally I found an associate not behind a cash register and he went to get my order, which was in the back and not at all in correspondence to the system they had out on the floor. I guess maybe they expect people to stand in line? But that doesn't make sense when their pickup system says you should check your email to pick up your item. I don't know.

I found some cute winter jackets and winter clothing for 50% off. Some of their regularly priced items were great too and felt like good quality. I did notice that some of the sale sweaters may not last too long plus I noted some loose thread of some other pieces of clothing. Since there was a winter storm, the store and mall was not busy at all. They did run out of bigger bags so we had to stuff everything into multiple thin plastic bags. One of the salespeople was pretty friendly and pointed out a few cute jackets that were on sale. The self service kiosk was easy to navigate. If you are lucky enough to find something on sale in your size, snatch it up. The store is well organized but a lot of the popular sizes do sell out quickly in preferred styles. Checkout is still relatively fast because it's so automated with you being to just put everything in and the machines do all the work for you. I did an online in store purchase and was waiting a while as there was an extra associate who was able to help, but didn't acknowledge me until the other lead at the register told him to assist me. I'm the first to be a bit queasy and unenthused as soon as I see the word(s) Company Store, outlet,…read moreand/or no returns. Especially when national stores such as Neiman Marcus, Tory Burch, Anthropologie, Kate Spade, J Crew, Nordstrom, etc., etc., have actual year round, fantastic sales and/or gifts with purchase, it doesn't seem necessary to buy what all too often wears like a "seconds" quality from a second tier outlet. Not so at Eileen Fisher. I'm not certain where the "Company" comes in to the fold, since quality and style at the outlet, so to speak, appears the exact same as EF on sale at NM, etc. Either I'm a complete fool, or they're the real thing on a clearance sale. Most items are in no ways cheap or fast fashion prices. EF sells the classics in natural fibers and recycled fabrics. It's not unusual to see a cozy soft Fall coat made of Alpaca and sewn in Italy to a Tencel jersey dress cut & sewn in NYC, knit & dyed in Montreal. Each clothing label tells how the fabric was responsibly made and the final product manufacturing that went into completing each item sold. Be forewarned, the store is packed to the brim, and dressing rooms force a waiting line, albeit, an efficient waiting line. Especially during one of their fantastic (advertised) sales and sample sales. It's worth the wait, and worth one's time combing the racks for something sharp, fashion forward, well made and comfy. For shorter girls, they have a lot of petite items and for taller girls, there's a huge amount of regular sizes. Same for style. There's things for grandma's, 20-something's and everyone in between. A great store all-around, and what's best about the brand is their clothes last and last longer than you want to wear them. They also have an exchange policy of $5.00 towards new EF's, which I'm not certain how that works, other than I am familiar in the quality of their clothes which endure and can thus be recycled from one wearer to another. No fast fashion to sadly end up in a landfill, here. EF clothes can potentially last a lifetime!

She found me a dressing room and when I went back she found a couple more items for me and my size in something that wasn't on the main floor. I've been to them in LA, Greenwich, NYC, Charleston, Palm Beach and elsewhere...but no chicago. Back in March we were shopping our way thru LA when I asked the sales associate the very same question and she said "well you're in luck because I hear one is opening up in Wilmette this year?" I figured she must be confused since there was nowhere in Wilmette that made sense to put a Love Shack Fancy, but she was correct. About a month later I heard that they would be turning Wilmette's Plaza de Lago into a shoppers paradise, which included Love Shack Fancy! There's so many amazing stores going into Plaza de Lago, but all my 14 year out cares about is Love Shack Fancy and she's been eagerly awaiting opening day. When we heard September 19th was the big day she suggested we camp out the night before. Um, no. I did offer to take her to their opening during her school at school, but then we scored an invite to their VIP grand opening the evening before...I told her to invite a few friends and let's shop! I think the girls spent more time making tiktoks and taking pics than shopping, but my wallet was OK with that. However, we did spend a lot of time admiring all the frilly adorable clothes...and purchased a few things. i liked that they had a few Chicago items for sale such as bracelets and a sweatshirt to make it special/different from over LSF stores. All the sales associates there couldn't be more friendly whether they were visiting from other stores (we saw a few that helped us in Greenwich during our last visit!) or will be working there full-time (shout out to Carly who was very friendly to my daughter and her friends). Everyone in the store, whether they worked there or visiting, was dressed to impress in LSF and while i usually find it to be a younger brand definitely found myself admiring some things for myself. I have a feeling we'll be back a lot, although i think my 14 year old is going to need a job with this just 15 minutes from our house!

It's frustrating when people come in, try on clothes regardless if their size is available, just to post on their social media accounts. Being clear they have no intention of buying anything. We had to wait half an hour for a dressing room because someone was on a live. Completely understand. Social media king, it's just a little frustrating. When you're actually a customer trying to buy.
