I grew up with Hot Topic. Being the Hello Kitty fan that I am, I always appreciated Hot Topic's selection of Sanrio goods. Whether it be t-shirt or bags, this Hot Topic has it all. I still find myself visiting this Hot Topic once in awhile. Via their email and their app, I get rewards and can't help but use it for a good discount some Hello Kitty items ;). The store itself can be a visual overload. It is crowded with stuff but luckily they do segregate by theme. This is a good spot for me to get some kawaii items at a discounted price with coupons. read more

This location is no different. So, if you're want to grab that edgy item, and you wanna get it fast in Torrance, this is your place to go. read more

My five stars are going to an employee whose name I didn't get. I believe she had short hair and a septum piercing. She asked me if I needed help and I said just looking at the band tees she pointed at her favorite and that struck up a conversation about pierce the veil and so on. I loved her humorous and fun energy, as a person who has social anxiety she made my experience very welcoming. To that employee If you're seeing this you're awesome!! read more

I stopped by Hot Topic at Del Amo on a rough day wasn't expecting anything but a quick purchase. But Kaylee was genuinely kind, helped me out with a great attitude, and even got a laugh out of my kid with a fun little moment over a toy. It might've seemed small, but her energy really made my day a bit brighter. Just wanted to say thanks and shout out great customer service when it matters most. (I also got a Tokyo revengers mystery pack and I got the character I wanted so that's pretty sick too) read more

looking for a dr doom shirt in XL, don't have it. asked an employee with a red back pack and black hair if she had anymore stock and said she would go check if they had any. As me and my girlfriend wait and look around we noticed as we were walking around she didn't even go check if the shirt was in stock as my girlfriend caught her hiding in the corner. I've worked at this store before and know that back door to the stock room is loud and echoes through the store. No need to lie if you are lazy to do your job or if you can't check if you have the shirt. read more

*Covid Pandemic edition * I can always count on Hot Topic to fulfill my BT21 needs. The staff is always super friendly and helpful which makes me always drop in when I'm at the mall which is unfortunately not often at all nowadays. The store is small and jam packed with merch to please the fangirl snd fanboy in all of us, no matter what our fandom is. Because the store is small there is a limit of how many customers can enter due social distancing. You stand outside until an associate calls you in. I think I waited less than 1 minute before they acknowledged me. Make sure you spend that Hot Topic Hot Cash before it expires read more

Went in today and the chubby girl with shorts and a pink top today asked me if I needed anything and I asked if I could use their dresser but she said it was closed and I could just try it on top and look at their mirror then I asked her to find a T shirt and she seemed bothered with heavy energy. What is wrong with hot topic employees, they always wanna put up a front that they're cool but just act weird and coy. Sybau and don't ask if I need help if you're gonna act like that so dorky lol. read more

I tried to find a employee complaint form online but Unfortunately couldn't find anything. When I was in the store today i was patiently waiting for my next turn in line to be checked out. As it was my turn and I was stepping forward, a worker (i'm assuming to be a manager because she was telling other employees what to do), tapped on the counter for me to come faster like a dog. I cant remember if she said anything but she literally tapped her finger on the counter and was looking at me as i was already walking forward. Some decent human being respect would be nice. She was also giving this passive aggressive and weirdly rude vibe to every customer in the store i even overheard a couple say something about her customer service. At the end of the day i think everyone wants respect and it sucks i couldn't find a form anywhere to file a complaint :( read more

i would always go to this hot topic and look for my chemical romance merch but there was barely any except i found a mcr wttbp shirt, mcr bracelet, and some awesome stuff. i saw a green day shirt and three cheers for sweet revenge shirt but it was large so I couldn't get it, service was good/amazing other than that I bought a pierce the veil shirt the day after . Went to check out to purchase TWO items. No line, store wasn't busy in the slightest. Greeted the two workers at the register, ignored immediately. Lazy, unprofessional and GHETTO. Worker started counting the register in front of my face like I wasn't trying to check out in the middle of the day. read more

Bought some tokidoki apparel online. Very disappointed that hot topic would sell fake, low quality tokidoki apparel. When I open the box it was so disappointing. There's no tags from tokidoki... the quality was so bad ... it's like something you would get at a swap meet but pay at a higher price. Stop selling extreme low quality /fake tokidoki apparel especially for that cost! IFAKE!!!! BAD QUALITY!!! So disappointed! Even the manager at the hot topic store agrees with me when I return the items!! The buyer at hot topic should be fire to even think it's a great idea to place an order for fake low quality tokidoki apparel.! read more

Ok... I understand that gone are the days of when Hot Topic was really really dark and blasting with heavy metal and death metal music, fog, etc. like an underground European dungeon gimp and dominatrix show..... so no need to overindulge in South Park member berries!!! It's been a lonnnnnnng time since those days and it's still weird to me that they play pop music and the atmosphere is almost as bright as a Target store. This particular Hot Topic is awesome because they have a really nice staff, along with a great collection of Funko pops, nerdy, rock and even wrestling-related stuff!!!!!!!! Not just like WWE, but also some NJPW New Japan Pro Wrestling stuff!!! I literally get to purchase shirts of wrestlers whom I've worked with for almost 2 decades.... from The Young Bucks, to SCU: So Cal Uncensored's Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels and my bro (since we were high schoolers) Scorpio Sky!!! It's such a trip that I and others can purchase a damn Bullet Club shirt, jacket, backpack from Pro Wrestling Tees and a WWE Shop shirt at the same freakin' time. Really.... it's a surreal dream come true, which brings out the kid in me. Since it's inside of the Del Amo Mall, they have a huge abundance of parking. They always have very randomly cool sales and products to compete against the other stores inside of the mall. All-around, this store definitely has been earning a 5-star rating from me for years of adaptation and evolving with the times! Great job, Hot Topic staff!!! Keep up the kick-ass work!! read more

The most appalling and horrible business. I placed my first online order of Funko pops, which are collectibles and need to be in mint condition including the box. My item came in a loose plastic bag and completely crushed. When I reached out for a replacement they said they are not responsible for damaged boxes and this is how they normally are shipped! Do not buy your Funko pops or anything of value from here. read more

Very bad customer service. The workers here are very rude and unprofessional. One in particular kept giving me rude looks while I was shopping, they were getting very impatient with us. The clothes and jewelry here are also horrible quality and extremely overpriced. Go somewhere else, this place is not worth your money! read more

Chris was amazing! My client didn't have enough money for a tee shirt she wanted. She was literally pulling change from everywhere, and he was so patient with her. Even found out she had $5 off her purchase. Thanks Chris! I really appreciate you. read more

"HI WELCOME TO HOT TOPIC!" Yeah don't roll your eyes, how many stores say hello like every single time? Not many at all. The employees who work here are always on point, nice and helpful. Love the old band shirts and pop culture items. Where else can you find a New Kids on the Block tee and not be judged?! When I went, I spent almost an hour in the store and looked at every single item . Nobody pestered me or hovered and when I went to pay they genuinely wanted me to pay the lowest price possible. Helped with the promo coupons, sales, clearance items. Walked out with a beanie, a shirt and pop figure for only $18! As all the kids are saying right now.... I was WOKE!!! read more

I am not always a big fan of hottopic and very rarely go into one. When I do I always look for new sailor moon tops or outfits. I decided to go in yesterday because I had hot cash. The last couple times I have gone to hottopic I have been in search of this pink sailor moon suspender dress. Every time I find it, it's never in my size . Yesterday was the same case. I found it in store but it was one size too small. One size too small isn't a big deal but I do have a booty so one size too small doesn't always work. One of the employees asked me if I had any questions and I let her know I was looking for this dress suspenders. She begins looking for it at other stores in the area and in the state. She tells me they don't have it anymore it's sold out and no other store has it in the size I'm looking for. She begins to tell me that she thinks it will fit and convinces me to buy. I got it super cheap with my hotcash and I had $10 in points. Later on I tried the suspender on and it fit perfectly. I almost cried. I have been looking for this in my size and to be able to finally get it was the best thing that could have happened. I didn't catch the employees name but she deserves a huge shout out. If it wasn't for her I would have left it and missed out. Best experience I have had at a hottopic. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I recommend coming to this hottopic. read more

So I went to Hot Topic to buy some shirts and gifts. They are advertising "Buy 1 Get 1 30% off" on apparel, and "Buy 1 Get 1 50% off" on jewelry. So I figure, "Great! I can get more shirts, and an extra gift for my girl." So I procure my items and proceed to check out. The cashier rings me up, gives me my total. I ask, "That's with the discounts, correct?" I received no response. I asked a second time; still no answer. So I pay for the items, and the cashier places my receipt at the bottom of the bag then places my items on top of it. After I leave, I check the receipt. Not only did the cashier not apply the advertised discounts, but I was charged a completely different price than the one advertised on the price tag. So congratulations, Hot Topic - you stole money from me. You also stole 3 hours and 35 minutes of my time - the 35 minutes I spent in your store, and the three hours of work I wasted, because you took three hours of my meager pay from me. Shame on you for false advertising discounts, and shame on you for putting false price tags on your merchandise. I'd advise buyers to avoid the Hot Topic at Del Amo in Torrance - they are crooked. The only reason they got one star is because the sales floor member, Randall, was really nice and super cool. Other than that, avoid this place at all costs, BEFORE it costs! Go to either Spencer's or Box Lunch - they have similar items and their business practices have INTEGRITY AND HONESTY! read more

I'm rating this Hot Topic 3 stars because the girl in orange hair, I think her name is Ashley/Ashlynn (she might be a manager) was talking to Randel in a condescending way. Randel was very nice and was the only employee who asked if I needed help with anything. Randel you are amazing! Don't let people talk to you and treat you poorly just because they're above you at your workplace. You deserve better. 5 stars for Randel :) read more

Hey I wanna say hands down I love hot topic. This store is always up beat employee always very friendly and happy. I visited this past weekend searching for a particular item that I was unable to find at any of the stores inside the mall. A team member by the name of Shawn was so nice and went out of her way to give me valuable information on where I can possibly go to find the item. Her advise helped so much and I was truly touched from her taking the time to really help me out. I am very thankful for her and so was my niece as it was her birthday present. read more

Every time i come to this location the employees are rude and not helpful they never speak they don't offer to help and one of the workers seem like she bother when I asked a question about trying on some boxers instead of saying no you won't be able to her response was "would you wanna try on briefs that someone put on and open" which I was thrown off because I felt like that wasn't necessary and rude and lack of professionalism and I've been to this location more than once and I came to the conclusion either the employees does not like their job or the team is racist they were willing to offer assistance to the other customer but didn't even look me and my friend way and I never have this issue at any hot topic except this location so I will not be back read more

Today in hot topic. I understand policy about clean in Covid. Apparently I sneeze out of nowhere and I was yelled at by a mean manager lady with tattoos and piercings. It's not cool to drive away a customer like that. No ones perfect. I still have my mask kept on even though I put a new one. What's worse is sneezing on merchandise which I didn't. I was being super aware clean. I almost wanna low star the del amo hot topic. People who don't like that lady manager with tattoos and piercings and doesn't like being complained at a small sneeze don't go to that hot topic. Or just leave that store right away. Pls. read more

The store was nice and the merchandise exceeded my expectations forms it's selections from anime to band merchandise, almost every employee was friendly and nice to me except for this young fellow I've happened to had a horrible experience with. I had to start a yelp account to complain about this young associate named Rene, he was awful with communication as he couldn't hear me as I lifted up my mask to sound more clear and yet he shrugs me off with an attitude I've never experienced in my time of shopping. He rang me up for some things I've bought for my daughters, they especially love this anime show with the hero's, he jammed everything in the bag without a care in the world and ignored almost everything I said to tell him I didn't want certain items such as a jacket and shirt, he also kept on insisting for me to join a loyalty program after I specifically said no twice, can you believe that? I said twice as if it were a big deal, yet he doesn't seem to care. This one employee is the reason why I would never consider coming back to this store or anything other hot topic chains around CA, I neither want to recommend this store to anybody in general. I am planning on filing a complaint against corporate to make them realize that not everyone in that store is not so friendly. (In this instance I'm just talking about the 1 association - Rene) read more

DO NOT BUY PIERCINGS HERE! I have unfortunately bought many a piercing here always hoping for a different result. Every piercing I have ever bought here has either turned my skin free from deterioration or it broke within a week. Their products are far too overpriced to be this poorly manufactured. 5 Stars to the manager at the Del Amo Hot Topic store! Her name is Shawn (hope I spelled that right) and if she's not a manager--- she should be!!! She was able to fix my online order. i went today to look for a shirt, when i went to one side of the wall where they had shirts i couldn't really see because i forgot my glasses so i asked the lady who was fixing some shirts at the bottom next to me with black and pink-ish hair, don't know her name but i asked her nicely if there's the shirt i'm looking for and she went "hey!!! look at me and ask the question!" while i was facing the wall and looking for it...the disrespect in front of my mom was on another level. such a rude person for an old lady...life must suck even more. read more
