One of the worst retail experiences in the mall. Their staff is so annoying with how they come up and ask if you need help with something every two steps you take. They are so pushy and desperate with trying to make sales it makes me not want to go here anymore. I used to love shopping here when they had the other people working here.. Why is the entire staff new now??? Who hired them? Someone is messing up cus this store is going downhill fast. The new people make me feel very uncomfortable and I would rather drive to Santa Clarita for ht. The store is always a mess too. Why can't they clean up so we can see stuff better? I went to buy 2 tees and got ignored when I tried to purchase them. The two employees were just talking for 5 minutes. So I came back later and they quickly helped a couple other "alt" people. Maybe it's because I don't have the punk look but that's still rude. When I went to return the shirts the employee sniffed them in front of me, mind you I never even took the shirts out the bag from when I bought them. This Hot Topic seriously needs to learn that if someone has been standing in line for over 25 minutes waiting on just 2 people ahead of them, MAYBE another employee should help out and get on another register. 3 employees in the entire store; 2 actually working (register and back room) while the other (manager?) aimlessly walking around the store pretending to be busy and ignoring the problem. AVOID ASKING HER!!! -- The short Asian heavy set lady with short hair light skin (prolly a manager) is very rude and unprofessional. I asked if they still have this one item in stock she then replied "no we're out" with an attitude and a stare down. I'm very surprised about the bad reviews. This is a tiny store and it is jam packed but to their credit the clerks know where everything is. They are very helpful and kind and make great suggestions regarding what is on sale and other items you may be interested in. There is a lot of good clearance and many coupons (in-store and they email them to you). If you have a teen or pre-teen you will probably spend some time in this mall mainstay! They have an amazing selection of funko pops (my son collects them) and I have found really cute blouses and an adorable Harry Potter Wallet there. read more

I have been to this topic two days in a row and all I can say is that the customer service is very very bad here. And please don't even bother to say hi or good morning good evening good afternoon to you when you walk in the store and when you ask questions taste she very stuffed up and don't even thank you for your purchase. I live in another region of the state and I can say that they treat me a lot better than I do it this hot topics for. I would be happy to talk to corporate about this. I bought a pair of socks for 6.90 and they kept trying to pull hard sell. Staff is rude, acts like theyre better than everyone and dont bother to help. If you ask for a dressing room you get a death stare. If you ask for something on top, omg the end of the world. I hate coming to this store. Yeah they sell cool things but their customer service is garbage. I have the exact same experience almost every time! Not even kidding. I walk up to the register to ask something and they don't acknowledge me. It's always one of the two female employees that are always there too. They can clearly see someone standing in front of them and instead of saying something like "hello" or "just a moment please" they keep on ignoring me. When I finally do get their attention and ask my question they act like I'm harassing them. And it's like that for everything else! Bad attitudes for everything. I get that hot Topic is supposed to have that "edgy" vibe or whatever you want to call it, but that's no excuse for terrible service. Most of the time its the same two female employees that make my trips awful. Haven't had a bad experience with any male employees yet, but they must get rid of the nice ones cause I almost never see the same one there twice. Something needs to change at this shop. read more

So I am guessing Hot Topic and BoxLunch are owned by the same people... they even have the same business photos as BoxLunch. That being said, I am not a fan of "the new Hot Topic" as I like to call it. My inner moody high school Avril wanna be self is SCREAMING. I miss the days when you went to Hot Topic for some rad band tee's and hardcore music. Yeah they still have band tees, I guess... but it has changed so far from what it was. Its all goofy tees and POPS and unicorn crap. Hot Topic kinda feels like it's trying to hard to be BoxLunch, but is failing. The store isn't as clean and it kinda feels like an equivalent to Claire's. It's for kids now, not apathetic teens. A few years ago it got a facelift, but the store feels even smaller since then, packed with too much product. My most recent visit, I couldn't even make it into the store for a solid couple minutes because there was a crowd at the front table trying to make their way in. read more

My experience at this store has been average. Depending on the employees. Some have been very kind but others don't really show interest in helping customers. Stephanie one of the assistant store managers is the main reason I continue going into the store. She is always so welcoming and asks if I need help every time. Her customer service is always so refreshing and positive. She also helps me look for what I'm looking for consistently all the time. This Hot Topic location has no space for standing, let alone, walking. The lighting is awful and everything feels uncomfortable really quick. The best time to go in is when nobody else is there. It's better to just shop at the hot topic website anyways. read more

Just left this store about 6:55pm today we were in line waiting to pay and the cashier was having problems not a big deal the girls here are nice BUT!! The prick with the purple hair and pie plates for gauges shows up to ring people out calls for the next person in line and points to the person behind us, the lady that was in front of us ringing out turns around and says I just told him you were next? I blow it off but he does it again, this person is either being a big asshole or is a complete moron maybe both! We will not be coming back here again! read more

Stood there in line 10 mins..20 mins...25 mins while the manager explained to a customer over and over that some dam jacket can't be ordered in store only online...the other employee with the yellow hair was too busy telling some other girl about her secrets of mindcraft...I had 6 other couples behind me waiting..finally everyone made a mass exodus out the front store leaving all the items thrown on floor and about...the manager said "oh" then summoned the yellow hair girl to the register. .to ring out..she said her password would not work and tried to go back to her mindcraft friend then the manager said do it twice and it magically worked....This was the most crappy - est service I have gotten in a very long time..c'mon manager lady look around and service everyone in the store..your company trys very hard to get foot traffic in your store ...tonight you managed to make it all dissappear. .epic fail! read more

This was a very good Hot Topic. My niece went to get comb in hair dye to match her Halloween costume. The girls in there gave her advice and helped her pick extensions instead. They said the comb in dye would just sit on her hair, and the extensions would blend in with her hair and look more natural. This store is pretty cool for the alternative type style. But it's a bit pricey. read more
