Went to this salon for the first time for a mini pedicure and acrylic fill. I was there for 2.5 hours for these services. The worst fills I have ever received. As you can see in the photos all of the nails are crooked and the texture is bumpy. The paint color on my middle finger is turning yellow, and this is only 2 days after. The staff was very unprofessional, the owner of the salon was dropping F bombs every other sentence. Would highly not recommend. read more

She makes you feel relaxed immediately upon meeting her. She will get to know you and you're unique skin issues so she can customize the facial to your needs. I wanted to treat my grandmother (visiting from PR) to a mani/pedi right before NYE. It's very important to her to be presentable, especially for special occasions like this one. First thing I liked about Hot Tips is that I was able to make an appointment on line. Since I was booking two, I had to call to add on to that. As soon as I hung up I got a text confirming that appointment. The day of the appointment they were running a little behind schedule. They called me to let me know and tell me a could come it a little later. I was already on my way so decided to wait there instead. More time to choose colors. This actually worked out. What initially wanted done, I was told was not going to last long. So, while the nail technician, Rebecca, was finishing up with her customer, she was also doing a "consultation" to look for alternatives to the look I wanted. As I said it was for NYE, I wanted metallic - silver, in specific I wanted the mirror look. Instead of doing it, and charging me more than needed, she advised me against it. She said it looks amazing, and if it was for that same night she would've done it. But, since we were a couple of days away from NYE, she knew I needed something to last so she looked for several chrome polishes and tried them all on me to see which one I preferred. I really appreciated her honesty, and time spent making sure I had something I really liked. My grandmother doesn't speak much English, so I told her I would have to help her with her manicure. I was allowed to stop my manicure to go help my grandmother, without being rushed or any attitude, on the contrary, they were all making sure my grandmother was comfortable and was getting the mani/ pedi she wanted. Rebecca is great, she knows nails and polishes, she's friendly and makes you feel right at home, as if you were a regular, even if it's your first time there. You will not be bored at all, she will talk to you about anything and engage you in conversation making the time go by fast. After each pedicure they immediately cleaned the tubs, which is obviously a plus. My only complaint is prices... they are a little high. I paid $33 for each mani/ pedi express - which means no massage, no exfoliating, hot towels or lotion. Plus they didn't have a drying station. Still will go back to them, since I usually only do pedicures it might not be so expensive). If not for regular visits, I definitely will keep them in mid for special occasions, our nails looked great, they lasted, and service was excellent. read more

The absolute worst nail salon. Stay away if you're a minority. Communication absolutely sucks. They took over an hour to do my toes only to tell me I had to wait another hour and a half to wait for someone to do my gel manicure because no one was available to take off my acrylics. When I voiced my frustration, they were unprofessional and absolutely rude. I still ended up paying over $40 for my toes and ended up leaving. I do not recommend!!!!! Mind you, I called ahead and notified both people I had on acrylics. I've never been so mistreated at a nail salon and the lady in the front was so unprofessional and made it seem like it was my fault. I cried in my car after I would also like to note that I did not receive a luxurious pedicure like the other clients. The nail tech took over 40 mins taking out the gel on my toes because she did not have the appropriate tools. She used a nail filer to take it out one by one. The pedicure itself was rushed and took 20 mins. I did not receive the actual "luxurious pedicure" they're claiming. When I called, I asked for a gel manicure and showed them that I had acrylics walking in. I kept saying I did not want a fill in. I just need a gel manicure and they knew that. The nail tech they gave me couldn't take out acrylics. I don't appreciate how the front desk person spoke with me. At one point she yelled at me. She handled the situation extremely unprofessional and I felt like I was treated poorly at this salon. I think this salon is only kind to "certain people". Expecting someone to wait an extra two hours because someone doesn't know hot to take out acrylics is bad business and ridiculous. I've been going to nail salons for years and I've never had this experience. I'm traumatized and the way I was spoken to was uncalled for. read more

I would have rated this shop 5 if it had not been for the verbal abuse from Joanna the nail technician.i was both verbally and physically mistreated after she embarrassed me for not agreeing to pay an extra $10.00 because I did not return after 2 weeks to refill. She left my nails very sharp ..did not buff or add oil to cuticles..she found a excuse when I pointed out ssme. I was so embarrassed with other customer In the shop while she lied that I was aware of same price before. Then she dragged my ankle during the pedicure and almost hurt me. I've gone to this nail salon 3 times. The first time I got a great nail tech who had great conversation, however, my last two times i've gotten the same girl who is extremely inexperienced. This would be fine except she's learning on my nails and i'm still paying full price... First time she did my nails she had someone watch over her and make sure she was doing a good enough job. However today I had to instruct her on how to do my nails.... Not only did she skip steps, i had to inform her which bottle of polish was the glue and how to use each thing... I am NOT a nail tech, and this should not be my job. This is not what I pay for and it's not her fault. She's a nice girl who has great conversation, they just should not be giving her nextgen if she is not ready... Really disappointed in my nails and how they look and more than likely will not be returning. read more

This was the most ridiculous thing I've dealt with in a while. My friend and I went to get manicures. After two hours they finished my friends nails and when she showed them to me all I could say is, "I hate these.". They are allllllllllllll messed up. They're much longer than they should have been, even after telling the woman multiple times to shorten them, she asked them to be squared and instead they are flared, they are uneven, crooked, and just all jacked up. She has been so embarrassed and all I can do is laugh whenever I looked at them. She had to go to another place and have them salvage the disaster. Never ever ever go here unless you like your nails looking like a toddler did them. read more

I had never been much of a manicure girl, but every now and then I would splurge and get them done for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the polish would typically start to peel off within a day and I can't commit to that kind of maintenance. Shortly before discovering Hot Tips, I had my first gel mani, and was totally sold on the difference in durability. However, the salon out near my old office was good but not impressive enough to keep making the trip. I found Hot Tips via Yelp (of course...) and immediately appreciated the fact that they take online appointments directly through Yelp. (It makes my late night impulse decisions much easier to manage!) Made an appointment and decided to give them a try. The first thing I noticed when I came in the first time is that there is absolutely none of the typical nail salon sweatshop vibe going on. Everyone working is friendly and acts like they actually want to be there. I've seen a few of the ladies there and been happy with the work every visit, but I try to see Cassie whenever she is available. She has done an amazing job every time and is one of the very few nail techs ever who has not nipped my super-dry cuticles until they bleed. The one thing to remember is that they can't add a tip on to your credit card. So bring a little extra cash if you're inclined to tip. I guess I'm turning in to a high-maintenance girl in my old age. For the first time in forever, I'm becoming a salon regular, and I have been perfectly willing to make the extra drive past all the assembly line nail shops to go see these ladies. read more

Stopped by shortly after 5 today and as I walked in the receptionist won me over with her warm smile as she nodded I would be able to have a pedicure done right away. Before She walked me to the back of the salon where there were 4 chairs she offered my son a candy cane. She then introduced me to Lenia aka Lenny and she took amazing care of me and my toes. Visiting Fla this weekend and I needed a mani/pedi. The vibe was great, and everyone was super friendly. That part I really enjoyed. The sad news is less than 24 hours later, my ENTIRE mani is half off. The girl doing my nails did not even shape them, they were inconsistent and I could have done a better job myself. What a disapointment....I get my nails done every week back in NYC,,, and never had this ever happened before. I have had regular manicures and pedicures and waxings. My husband and sons have even gone there for pampering! I can't recommend them highly enough. This place has been around for as long as I have lived here (7 years). The staff are all friendly and easy to talk to. They have an air filtration system so you aren't overwhelmed with fumes and they are extremely sanitary. I go on Sundays and love my nail tech Jenn. They have a huge selection of polishes and do standard manicures as well as acrylics, gels and shellac. They take walk-ins but I recommend making an appointment. They also do waxing. read more
