So it's not a food truck, per se. They've got a little tent set up in the Atlanta Food Truck Park. I stumbled across them on Twitter (I concede Twitter has its uses). The idea of a creme brulee food truck intrigued me. I do love a good creme brulee. I stopped by this afternoon & ended up selecting the s'mores option. It was a chocolate base with marshmallow, golden grahams, & caramel syrup toppings. It's always fun to watch someone take a blow torch to your food. Once I dug through the toppings, the sugar added a nice texture to the creamy base. And it's a tad difficult to get a good crack in the sugar with a plastic spoon.
They lose a star because I wouldn't call it true creme brulee. The texture of the custard itself is more like pudding. Toppings aren't usually part of a traditional brulee either. It's a fancy pudding with burnt sugar and toppings. All that said, it was an enjoyable fancy pudding with toppings. I appreciated they were expanding the dessert offerings at the park. I like the concept, I was satisfied with the flavors, and I would definitely go back to try some of their more simple offerings. read more
