I actually had another company come out before Daniels, and they had absolutely no idea what I was looking for. Daniels was the opposite. Keith was very knowledgeable about exactly what I wanted and was great with communications from start to finish. Tina was wonderful to work with. She took care of absolutely everything for me with the Energize Connecticut program -- I didn't have to do a thing. And Alana was extremely helpful with all of my propane questions and scheduling. Everyone I spoke to at Daniels, including all of the technicians who came to my house to do the installation, was very personable and knowledgeable. This is a great company, and I chose them because they've been around a long time -- 100 years this year -- and have excellent reviews. I'm very glad I went with Daniels. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again, and I'd recommend them to anyone taking on a big project like this.

On my old house, the surface of the foundation was crumbling off, that 1960's sandy facing they put over the concrete. It looked bad and dirty and I had no idea what to do about it. The basement was a walkout so all that ugly foundation was exposed. Vincent came out and recommended stucco and showed me some examples. It was the ideal solution. He was also down the street doing the same thing to a neighbors house. When his team came out to do it they were incredible! Everything was organized and planned out meticulously. First a couple people came to prep everything. The next day the whole squad was there and they worked like an army. Everyone was mixing and applying stucco very precisely working together to cover the whole foundation. They did a fabulous job and everything was so smooth and clean. There was no mess or anything when they were done. My foundation looked brand new. We also did some small concrete steps. I couldn't be happier working with Vincent, and even after 4 years it held up and looked perfect. And when you open up the freezer and discover your once frozen solid bags of fried rice and mashed cauliflower have the consistency of soggy paper towels, well now you're pretty damned sure something is really broken. So that opens up a range of possibilities -are you facing a minor repair, a major repair, or a full-scale crash, burn and replace. How do you know? Enter Discotto Appliance Repair. They were recommended by the vendor that sold us the failing refrigerator 12 years ago. I called at 10:00 and left a message with his service. Rich Discotto called me an hour or so later and said he'd be over later in the afternoon. Then he called me again and said he'd be able to swing by in a half hour. He was professional and courteous, read the model and serial numbers, went back to his vehicle to check his computer than came back to us with his verdict. He educated us with a brief history of the LG refrigerator and their compressors, The compressor was our problem, but the cost of replacing it ($1,376) didn't make sense for a 12-year-old refrigerator. His confirmation of what we suspected all along really made our decision easy. And the $133 service call was well worth that knowledge. I can not recommend him highly enough. (PS - Happy Birthday, Bob Dylan, who is 83 today)
