Visited Hot Skates last night for f cosmo skate night. I second guessed going because of all the negative reviews, but I'm glad I did. Cons: We paid $61 for a family of 4 (admission, skates, and a skating walker thing for our daughter). That is kind of pricey for skating. The food prices were also a bit pricey for the usual suspects- pizza, chips, nachos, etc. Pros: The Friday night DJ was Mama Mia and she was great. She played a great mixture of music. She interacted with the younger children, teenagers, and adults! There was time for backwards skating, advanced skaters, everyone, and a Congo line. Loved her! The staff seemed to all be teenagers or in their early twenties. They were friendly for the most part and helpful. A couple of them interacted with our 3 y/o to try to get her to dance! So cute. There is tons of parking! Overall- we will definitely be back! Giving them a 3 due to the prices and cleanliness of the bathrooms and the facility.

    Great graphics!

My family visited Hot Skates on Saturday October 21st...Prior to visiting I checked out the reviews and thought...maybe I should see if there was a Groupon...just Incase we hated it, it wouldn't be too bad on our pockets. I arrived skeptical, and with my large group of 13ppl. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff members. We showed our Groupon package via cell phone and placed our included pizza order. We all needed rental skates (which was also included in our package). We all asked for our corresponding skate sizes, but because we had several small children with us, we kind of had to just ask for a size and see how it fit. The staff member was very patient during this process. She smiled and kept great conversation as we found everyone skates. After getting a quick look around, I immediately disagreed with many of the negative reviews that were posted. The carpet was clean, the staff member handing out the skates made sure to disinfect all the pairs of skates my kids returned while finding the right sizes...even if they were only worn briefly. The restroom was clean. There was a party or two in the birthday area and even with them there, the skating rink was mostly empty. (Which I didn't mind at all, because my kids have a fear of being trampled by bigger, faster skaters like at other skating rinks. After being there for about 15-20 minutes our pizza was brought out to our table. It was hot and fresh. It tasted pretty good, and the soda was nice and cold. As other visitors left their tables, the tables were cleaned and sanitized, and when a staff member was alerted of a spill, she quickly cleaned the spill up. When the music was on, staff members interacted with us, and danced to the beat of the music. Once our session was over, a manager came over to us and offered us an additional skate session for free. She only asked that we not skate on the floor while they cleaned it. While we waited for the next session to began, the staff went to work deep cleaning and sanitizing the entire rink. We had an excellent time! I just could go on and on. I really can not find one bad thing to say. If I HAD to knit pick, I'd say that some of their machines in the game area could give a few more tickets...but even that wasn't a big deal. We have a new SAFE skating rink to go to now. Where the facility is clean, the staff is friendly, the pizza is hot,the video projector plays the music video, 2yr olds can skate peacefully! I'm not sure whats up with the other reviews because this place is amazing! The best skating rink we have been to in the Indy-area...and I have visited all of them!

Hot Skates wants you to give them a 5 star review on Facebook so bad that they're willing to give you a pizza party in exchange.

Jameson Camp is a hidden gem located off of Bridgeport Road just north of West Washington Street…read more First I'd like to take a moment to tell you of the wonderful work Jameson Camp does and how your rental fees help with that mission. The Camp is a beautiful venue for events while the affordable rental fees help support the children and youth programs for at-risk youths. The Camp began in 1928 and you or your grandparents may be familiar with their history of serving ill children. Jameson Camps' focus is on children's social, behavioral and emotional challenges and equipping them for productive and responsible lives. Responding to an increasing concern for childhood obesity a Wellness Camp was launched in 2006, a creative program that utilizes camp to teach healthy choices in fitness and nutrition. Last, but certainly not least, is their Camp Tataya Mato for children affected by HIV/AIDS which is the only residential camp to these special children in Indiana. As you can see your rental fees support the outstanding work Jameson Camp does serving children with health needs in the Indianapolis area. In 2006 they replaced the original headquarter with a beautiful new center, lodge, health center and a nature and arts and crafts center. No only providing enhanced program facilities for the children, these buildings provide new opportunities to serve as a community partner and provide funding from the rental fees. This is a wonderful venue for events as small as a corporate business meeting to an elegant wedding. Several sizes of venues are available or even rent the entire camp for the ideal wedding or family reunion where your event along with family and friends are residing at one location. The Lodge and Cabins are so affordable compared to the cost of hotel rooms and transportation for your wedding guests, business associates or family traveling. The Lodge is its own large facility and sleeps 24 for $450. What a savings compared to a Hotel!! There are four meeting areas of various sizes and prices along with 6 cabins for lodging that accommodates 24 in each plus don't forget The Lodge. The Challenge Course is available to incorporate into your event with low and high ropes plus a climbing wall. Other amenities include a basketball court, swimming pool, open game fields and a campfire circle. The Jameson Center is picturesque with a majestic-pine-framed dining room with a striking two sided fireplace that accommodates 140 persons for dinner. If that's too large select the smaller dining room with fireplace and seats 30. The Jameson Center rental includes the use of their FULL commercial kitchen including the walk-in refrigerator and walk-in freezer. A Chefs' dream whether you use a preferred caterer or you personally prepare the meals. Vanessa, the Office Manager, was telling me of recent large wedding with a beautiful large tent adjacent to the Jameson Center where the guests stepped directly into the tent from the dining room. You can have your wedding and dinner inside and dancing outside. So many options here! Leadership training, Corporate Team Meeting, Weddings, Reunions, endless uses for this venue. Be sure to check out this scenic facility and grounds. Give Vanessa Fry a call for a tour or e-mail her at Vanessa@jamesoncamp.org for additional information.

The park has a very nice and soothing waterfall near the entrance. The park also has a small area with some picnic tables and there is a lot of shaded areas here. I was surprised to see a bathroom facility here, but it is under renovation at the time of this review. The park is a large garden composed of many smaller gardens such as the Memorial Veterans Garden, and the Enabling Garden. The center piece of the park is a triple gazebo that is very picturesque and can be rented. Even though it is not park of the park, I found another picturesque spot right off of it, a historic iron truss bridge. It spans the White Lick Creek and runs into the White Lick Creek Trail. The park is home to a veterans memorial and a statue that depicts a man holding a child, with two older children playing with a dog at his feet. The sculpture titled "a Celebration of Family values", is meant to signify The Dura builders family dedication to the town of Plainfield. You will also find many dedications and memorials in this park by some of the trees and in areas like the small fountain near the exit and the sundial sculpture across from the gazebos. The park has nice paths that run through it and are connected to a larger network of trails such as the aforementioned White Lick Creek Trail. This is a nice refection park that has a calming peace about it and is very soothing, even though it is located right off of a main thoroughfare. It does not have a shortage of benches. It feeds into some nice trails and offers some nice backdrops for pictures.

I really like that they let you eat inside the theatre. I mean, I didn't eat in there, but I like that they give you the option. They have a concession stand with things like frosted cookies, popcorn, candy, wine, beer and soft drinks. The seats have cup holders. The theatre seems relatively new and well-taken-care-of. The seats were comfy, and even though my son, who is on the shorter side, sat in back of two adults, he could still see the stage. The people who scanned our digital tickets and showed us to our seats were very friendly. The whole experience was pleasant, and we had a nice time at the theatre.

Everyone was dressed up and excited for the show. Many of the little girls in attendance appeared to be wearing their Easter dresses. It was really fun to see. The door attendants that were checking our tickets were eager to help and pointed out the entrance doors and restrooms upon our arrival. Concessions were open and running smoothly. The gentleman that assisted us was kind, upbeat and helpful. When I asked about their cider offerings, he happily bounced over to the fridge and grabbed the two that they had and gave me his personal recommendation. My husband asked about the butteriness (a word I made up, apparently) of the popcorn, and he was honest with his feedback. In addition to the cider and popcorn, they also had a nice selection of beer, wine and spirits as well as candy. The volunteers were stationed outside of the theater entrances until 6pm, when the doors opened. One of the gentlemen had his picture up in the lobby as "Volunteer of the Year". I felt honored to be in his presence! There isn't a bad seat in the entire theater. If you attend a show here, I wouldn't worry too much about where you sit. The volunteers were actively walking around and offering booster seats to the children. I thought that was pretty awesome. The show itself was very community theater-esque. It was cute and whimsical and made for a fun night out, but the set design and story delivery were very amateur. For what we paid, it was a decent value. I will read more closely when booking in the future. Reading is fundamental folks, and the listing on Fever stated that the show consisted of 6 local dancers. There just wasn't enough going on to maintain my interest, but that is definitely a personal issue. My husband really enjoyed the show and athleticism displayed by the dancers. Maleficent was my favorite dancer. Her moves were, quite literally, on point!
