I have been on a bakery kick as of late. While in Pickering last Saturday, I found this COBS Bread nearby. I headed over because it has strawberry items that are new additions on the menu. This bakery is in a plaza. Burger King and Scotiabank anchor it. I parked fairly close to this bakery. I then walked over. There was a couple ahead of me attempting to place an order. The woman was unsure of what she wanted. The man seemed like he just wanted to leave. They were being helped by a man behind the counter. I immediately got a friendly woman working with him. She asked me if I needed time. I did. I figured out what I wanted to order: - Strawberry danish - Raspberry and custard danish - Chocolate croissant There were a few customers who dropped in after I had. The nice woman returned and asked if I was ready. I was. I scanned my Breadcrumbs QR code. I then let her know that I was ordering three items. In the past, at any COBS Bread, I'd get my danish pastries in bags. I never enjoyed them being stacked on top of one another. I'd have to peel off one from the other because the filling from the bottom one adhered to the one of top. This place didn't do it. She put all my items in a box. Nice! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked this woman, grabbed my box, and carefully carried it to my car. I then placed it in a reusable bag and drove home. These pastries were amazing. I had the strawberry danish first. It was so fresh. I loved the strawberries. It was so yummy. I need to get another one. My go-to danish is the raspberry and custard danish. I love the tartness of the raspberries mixed in with the most perfect custard, in a yummy danish. Excellent! I had to get a chocolate croissant. I normally do danish pastries only, but I have a weakness for this croissant. It was flaky with the best dark chocolate. It had a light dusting of powdered sugar and dark chocolate drizzle on top. I appreciated that it was slightly sweet. This bakery stands out being fully stocked with baked goods and bread at 4 pm on a Saturday. When I visit the COBS Bread in Aurora on a Saturday at 4 pm, it's slim pickings. I loved my experience here. I'd return for more pastries. I should also get some bread next time. This store also has butter tarts. I just want everything! (199)

The spaghetti carbonara with 2 meat balls + a small bottle of San Pellegrino was $25.00!!! 100% NOT low value products. All this topped off by the food not being NEARLY as hot as it should have been. It did have a pretty good dessert showcase but it doesn't make up for being grossly overcharged for a bowl of pasta. NOT a do-over!

Their chicken on a bun, and chicken with sides of potatoes, mushrooms, and vegetables is our favorite. But you don't just go to this bakery for heart-warming food. You also go there for the warm ladies who serve you the food and chat with you for a couple of minutes, the elderly people who, you can tell, have gotten into the habit of coming here since a long time for a cup of coffee, and the charming little seating area next to the breads section where you can enjoy your food while soaking in the bakery aromas. This place is like the hobbit land in the middle of the crowd of big brand coffee houses and I want just that sometimes in the middle of the day.

He was told the card had not worked and was directed to enter it a second time. The discrepancy was subsequently noticed on his bank statement. My father attended the store, as did I, to inform them of the double-charge. We were both told that the owner would be in touch. We have followed up, in person, by phone and email a number of times with Manager Gilda, and been given a variety of excuses regarding the owner's ongoing absence; including: he was en route back from Pakistan and would call in a few days, he was very ill, he remains out of the country and is the only one who can address financial matters. I have now engaged the bank, the police and Consumer Protection Ontario to investigate as the response from store management has been inadequate and evasive. This is posted as a caution to obtain and scrutinize POS receipts and check that a transaction is indeed VOID/CANCELLED before entering or tapping your card a second time.

Since the start of the pandemic, they have stopped doing this (even with Stage 3 in Toronto). I happen to find Staij & Co on Instagram and noticed that they sold fresh croissants and coffee beans for delivery. Also, their croissants looked delicious from the photos so I had to try this place! Anyway, I decided to bring my parents' favourite activity to them. For my parents, I ordered the variety of croissants - plain, Nutella and almond along with two bags of Pilot Coffee and a box of Spokane tea. My dad raved about all three types of croissants so I decided to try them myself. I ordered the same variety pack. Staij delivers to you, free of charge. However, it is only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Check out their website as they also do birthday cupcakes. We ordered half a dozen for a friend; they were decorated beautifully with 'Happy Birthday.' Our friend was pleasantly surprised for a delicious treat delivery to their home on the special day. Good for: baked goods, gifts, free delivery, coffee, tea

Pictures circle social media of donuts bursting with filling, loads of icing, and creations that you see in your dreams. This year I made it my mission to visit and see these masterpieces for myself. They are also constantly coming out with fresh trays. I checked out and then they brought a tray of double chocolate before I left the building so I had to get more. The counter is run by 1 person on cash and a few working in the kitchen. Yes, the prices are on the more expensive side; however, these are not your everyday donut. Staff are welcoming. There was a constant stream of people. Pretty laid back, help-yourself atmosphere. The donuts themselves? Not too sweet and very filling. Wouldn't have minded them a bit sweeter. The only downside to this place was that not every kind of donut advertised was available. Otherwise, definitely worth a visit

Well, this is a place where you can enjoy the experience. A quick pitstop north of Steeles on Bathurst, My Zaidys Bakery is a good place to get your fix of bagels and traditional kosher treats. Honestly, this is a gem for beautiful cakes and cookies. If you like rugelach, see my pic of an enormous, rugelach style cookie you can easily share with 3 or 4 people with a cup of coffee. The prices are fairly reasonable, just watch out for the small store next door, as the gentleman doesnt put a sticker on some of the items, and I ended up paying $8.00 for a schmear of tuna mixed with mayo and sriracha (at least that's what I thought). Anyways, for a true 'Nash' check this place out. Dont come for the service, come for the treats!
