    Mac attack bowl

Came to Hot Bunz craving fries and a shake... came out with a full meal and more lol. Hot Bunz was one of the few food joints open later on a Sunday that wasn't McD's, BK, or In-n-Out. Decided to check them out and came out really enjoying my meal. The inside is brightly lit with a huge mural of top fast food competitors duking it out (artist: Coinslot on IG). Order at the counter and grab some pickled jalapenos/banana peppers while you wait. I ordered: Classic smash combo - decent burger, a lil messy. Fries were great and fulfilled my craving. Oreo milkshake - probably the BEST Oreo milkshake ever. They did not skimp on the Oreos and had good thick consistency. Mac attack loaded fries - brought this home for the SO and he enjoyed it. Service was fine. The lady who took my order was nice and was the one who made my shake so huge props to her lol. Will definitely be back!

Normally when new establishments open up, I will Yelp the restaurant and look at the reviews. I'll look at how long it's been operating and if it's not open for six months or more, I don't go. I'm not the kind to bash a restaurant or any type of business, but I'm gonna give my honest opinion. This place is overhyped due to social media! I wanted to try it out because I seen it on TikTok and the food looked absolutely appetizing. It was a busy Saturday evening around 730pm. I told my kids I wasn't cooking so we were going here because I wanted to try it. They were all for it because who doesn't like a good burger and since smash burgers are the way to go, why not. Upon walking in the paintings on the walls catch your eyes. It's a very casual kind of place. When looking at the menu it's very appealing and makes you want to order the whole menu lol jk. The "combos" aren't really combo meals it's just the burger and the fries, the drink is extra, for X in my book. The young lady at helping me was helpful with the questions I had. We didn't dine it we took our food home, but before we left I took pictures of the way the food looked just in case it didn't look like that when we got home. I got the jalapeño smash, my oldest had the classic combo, and my youngest had the kids combo (which included the drink). The burger IN MY OPINION was under seasoned, the jalapeño were all cut in different thickness, it wasn't something to write home to mom about. Lastly the fries reminded me of Taco Bell fries without the sweetness in the seasoning very underwhelming. Even though this wasn't a good experience for my first visit, I'm willing to go back and try something else other than the burger.

Lil bro was craving burgers so here we went. This spot is very local to us and the menu is a bit unique as you can only order a burger and fry combo. The wall murals inside the restaurant are top tier and gave me a good chuckle. Service was also exceptional - our server was patient while we took our time to order and was very friendly. My brother ordered the jalapeno smash while I got the kid smash as I was not very hungry. The patty is the star here. Perfectly smashed with crispy laced edges that are very well seasoned. The buns are very soft and buttery. I had a bite of the jalapeno smash and wow I would get this next time - the sauce and grilled onions with jalapeno are perfect compliments to the burger. The fries are also super crispy and well seasoned. Very close to my ideal fry (just a bit more seasoning and it'd be perfect!) It was my brother's 2nd time here and the menu has changed since then. He also mentioned the food had a serious upgrade as it was not as good the last time he visited. If it's been a while since you visited Hot Bunz, give it another try!

Good smash burger. Bun was toasted and warm! Fries were well seasoned and crispy. The menu is pretty simple or ordering was easy. Good customer service. I like how they have a condiment station with fresh peppers and jalapenos. The vibe was chill and the decor was cool. The restaurant was very clean too.

Came in and ordered to go, ordered extra patties on my burgers and some other things. Restaurant looks cool and has some fun murals on the walls, ample seating and some patio chairs outside. Opened it up on the road and order was wrong, I was too far to turn back so I called the restaurant. First person I spoke with was very polite, but the "manager" wasn't very compromising or apologetic, asked my order number and said he'd refund me the difference. Burgers aren't great if they aren't piping hot either, mine wasn't cold but it wasn't good. Enough for me to not go back

Great smash burgers!!!! Flavor is there. Even their fries are good . Prices are reasonable, staff is great. And it's located near the Target shopping center so there's plenty of parking.

Finally gave Hot Bunz a try after seeing them all over social media. Overall, it's a solid spot for the price, you definitely get your money's worth in terms of portion size. The restaurant itself has a great, open atmosphere with plenty of room. While the staff was quick to take my order, there was a significant wait for the food to actually arrive. As for the meal, the fries were the highlight with great texture and flavor. However, the burgers were a bit of a letdown; despite being loaded with cheese, sauce, and jalapeños, the flavor was surprisingly masked and lacked any punch. Every bite felt very plain and repetitive.

Stopped into Hot Bunz, again today, with the hankering for a good burger and fries. I decided on and ordered the #2 Jalapeno Smash: One Smash with double grass-fed beef patties, melted white American cheese, caramelized grilled jalapenos and grilled onions, pickles, and signature house sauce drizzled on a toasted bun. Served with fries. Delicious, hot, served in an eye appealing yummy way. Plenty of good. Bun withstands the sauce and juiciness and you're not left with a messy burger and no bun. As with the past visits and orders, excellent. Fun restaurant with cool artwork, nice colors, very clean, lots of seating and excellent customer service. Bathrooms are super clean (smell musty) but the cleanest ones I've seen in a while.

Hit up Hot Bunz in South Sac today with BB and whew... this place has personality. From the jump, the decor is next level -- there's a mural with a bunch of fast food chain mascots in a whole UFC-style match Like I'm trying to eat my burger, but also... I'm invested in the storyline. What we ordered: * Western Bacon Smash Burger + onion rings (me) * Classic Smash Burger + Frisky Fries (BB) Both burgers come with two smashed patties -- super thin, but well-seasoned and cooked right. My only "ehhh" moment was the cheese on mine... I wasn't feeling it. BUT the bacon and patties still did what they needed to do, so I wasn't mad at it. Now let's talk sides: The onion rings were thick, crispy, and seasoned well -- exactly how onion rings are supposed to be. And BB's Frisky Fries were a fun switch-up... but here's my thing: They need to add ranch to the menu. And I know I'm not alone because I wasn't the only one asking for it. Ranch with those fries would take the whole meal over the top. Like... permanently in the rotation. Service was good, the food came out fast, and they've got ample parking and plenty of seating, which I always appreciate. Bottom line: Great burger spot with a cool vibe and strong seasoning. Fix the ranch situation and I'm giving them a full 5 stars.

We loved the Hot Bunz in Rancho and saw this location when we were in the area. The location is just like the original. It's covered wall to wall with custom art from Coinslot. Mostly depicting their burger guy fighting other well known brands haha. The menu is the same with their different smash burgers, the frisky fries, mac attack, and shakes. All of them tasted great, just like the original location. Don't forget to ask for extra house sauce. That's what really makes it special. Staff were friendly and helpful. We love that take out boxes and bags were set out and easy to grab. There were also signs telling you the bathroom code was on the receipt. So definitely don't throw it out! We made that mistake but another costumer noticed it and told us the code.

extremely flavorful. the burger was juicy & the fries were seasoned. this is what i would call quality fast food. you get so much for the price!

Been wanting to try out this place and finally was around the area and got a chance to go. The place is pretty clean and big with plenty of seating inside and outside the restaurant. The service was great. We got the combo which comes with two burgers plus fries and the Mac Attack which was plenty of food to share between 2 people and the price was decent. The burger is juicy and full of flavor. The fries were seasoned and crispy. Love the side of jalapeño and peppers that you can get from the counter. What can I say, I have no complaints about this place at all. I think it's worth checking out if you're ever in the area and craving a good smash burger spot.

There's two locations for this burger joint, one here in Bruceville Rd. and one in Sunrise Blvd., in Sacramento. I don't know if its the location or if my expectations were too high from "foodies" hyping up the burger joint so much but this location was definitely not it. The vibe is pretty chill, love the interior and shoutout to the artist COINSLOT, definitely outdid themselves in making those colors pop up fs! For the service, the employee who took our order seemed out of touch and wasn't too focused on what we were saying. I get it, I work at fast food too, but customers should definitely be a #1 priority. My partner and I ordered #1 and #3. As our food came out, the presentation was lacking what was being promoted on their screens. The burgers looked smaller than what we saw on their screens. For the burgers, the buns were cold and you can ask my partner, burgers are my thing! but these burgers, were middd. The fries were hotter than the burgers lol. I think if the burgers were hotter, they would have tasted better. Overall, I will definitely give this burger joint another try but at a different location instead! 4.5/10

My 2nd burger I still forgot to take a picture of because it was too good to wait

The fries were actually pretty good, an above average standard French fry with salt. The burger however was phenomenal. There was an amazing crust on the outside reminiscent of a backyard bbq. There was ample bacon, lettuce, cheese and sauce to make it a balanced bite. The bun was high end brioche style, they really went all out on quality of ingredients. Amazing transformation. The inside is minimal with the diner decor, keeping the place open and uncluttered (although, there's a lady mannequin propped up near the window!). The smaller back patio is also nicely remodeled with their signature red double decker bus, which I hear is very close to being ready for occupation (as of 7/12/26). That will be fun to hang out and eat your burger and fries in there, especially if A/C is provided. The cute patio is also open to leashed dogs that are well behaved. I love that they offer combos with a shake or a fountain drink. You'll find burgers, shakes, fries, chili, and hot dogs. The menu is very reasonably priced too. I got a single Lucky burger combo with a large banana peanut butter chocolate shake (you can mix flavors), upgraded to chili cheese fries, and also ordered a separate fountain drink. The cashier was very friendly, patient, and helpful. Service 10/10. Given a buzzer and found a table inside. Food came up in about 5 minutes. Good burger but had way too many onions (easy fix though). I wouldn't mind a softer bun, but it was fine. The Lucky sauce is similar to thousand island dressing, and they had a few other sauces available that I still need to try. The fries were great! Battered, seasoned, and crispy. Shake was thick and not too sweet. They use real fruit, but not sure if they use real ice cream or soft serve. Either way, it was still delicious.
