That Mongolian place isn't much to look at but the food was on! The staff are amazing and fresh. They give you 3 little dishes one for vegetables, another for meats, and another for sauce. You go up to the buffet and fill them up and hand it off to the staff and they cook it on this huge grill! I had cabbage, carrot, green onion, white onion, baby corn, bamboo shoots, corn, and mushrooms. With beef, and Mongolian sauce with a tablespoon of cayenne on top! With thin rice noodles! Yum! read more

My mother, sister as well as myself came here on a Tuesday after work. Upon walking in we were the only one in there. Couldn't figure out why it took the young lady so long to greet us and welcome us in. She was sitting at a table eating with others and I guess was going to finish her meal before she helped us. Nonetheless we all prepared our bowls. Waited a while before cook came and finally cooked our food. Everything just felt like it was moving in slow motion and took so long. Cook and hostess. Everything even to pay. We were there an hour just ordering waiting for food to be cooked and to pay. I realized she was on the phone maybe that's why. But service was definitely not to par. Food was good I prefer Yaki bowl better flavor wise but feel Like you get bigger portion here. Ambiance was on. Everything felt outdated but was clean and empty. But service alone is enough for me to think twice about coming here read more

The food was tasty but it was a struggle to figure out what I could eat with the allergies I have and services was not as helpful as other places have been. 10 sauces and only two options which neither wer ones I'd eat, forget about allergies, so ended up with steamed food and soy sauce. The restaurant is clean and quiet for dinner, which is the reason for the 2-start review. read more

Driving home and stopped in Clinton MS. Was not expecting to find much more than fast food options on a Monday night, but we found this gem. We have eaten Mongolian bbq from coast to coast and have never had a bowl as good as what we ate at Hot Bowl. It is in a strip mall and small. Staff were very helpful. The choices were plentiful and varied. The meat selections were so fresh and lots of sauces to top it all off. Our food was cooked perfectly. It's not a fancy place but it is clean and comfortable. I'm not sure we will ever be back in this area, but I wanted to drop a review so that others know about it. Oh and it is very reasonably priced! read more

This place never fails me every time. The food is good and hot. The workers are nice and provide good service. The place is clean and quiet environment. read more

My new favorite place!! Service sucks, but food is really good. You grab bowls and fill up with veggies, protein, choose your rice, noodles or whatever and leave tray and chef cooks in an open kitchen!! When you walk in I usually have to find someone to wait on me. Pretty sure it is the family that runs it, b/c one of the waiters is always sitting in corner on IPAD. O read more

Yum! Interior is dated and it's in a strip mall. Expectations were low. They have a system of meat and veggies and sauce and a bowl for each. I went heavy seafood (squid, scallops, fake crab and mussels) and shrooms. Delightful flavor, super large portion and well balanced. Service was slow but I had drink and food. Gtg! I'll be back soon. read more

Went during lunch for take out. Costed around $14. Yum! And fun to add whatever you want to the bowls they give you. But there's a system. The bigger bowl = veggies, medium sized bowl = meat, and the small bowl is for your sauce. Idk about the dude before me saying customer service sucks. They don't have many workers sure but that's a stretch lol. Check em out and tip! read more

Great food ask for well done!! Great food ask for well done!! Great food ask for well done!!

I do enjoy this place for lunch. I like being able to pick out my own ingredients. Always well prepared by the chef. The inside appearance is some what less desirable but the food is good. read more

Small and unassuming place in a strip mall. It's been a little while since visiting a Mongolian BBQ, but the experience is typical. At 6pm in a Monday there were only a couple of other diners present so the place was quiet except for the occasional banging of the cook on the grill top. Strike 1 would be the appearance. The restaurant is old and the appearance dated. Not the cleanest looking dining room greets you. A number of tables needed to be bussed. Makes me a little concerned about their health practices; but they have an A from the health department, so we stayed. I do like that they provide 3 separate bowls, for veggies, proteins, and sauce. Every other Mongolian place always gives just one. I can pile pretty high with more surface area to work with! They let you also choose if you want rice or noodles and give you a choice of type as well. Proteins include pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, fake crab, fish, and a few unidentifiable things. Choice of veggies is adequate. Good variety of sauces too. Strike 2 is the service. I've never seen a cook at a place like this move so incredibly slow or cooking time so very sloooooowwwww. Fortunately no strike 3 so this place survives to eat at another day for us. The food was fresh and came out hot. It was very tasty, but I credit that to the guy who put together the scrumptious combo. If you are in Clinton, MS definitely give it a try. Our total bill with only water to drink was $23 before tip. read more

From the outside...I wouldn't call it memorable, the inside a bit worn, but the food was outstanding! Good size portion, huge selection of ingredients, and staff was courteous. Definitely worth a try. read more

Food was great, no issues with service, this place definitely sees more industry clientele. Staff leaves you alone, and only comes around when you need a refill. Building is a bit dated but adds to its character. read more

Love the fresh veggies and ability to customize to your liking. Son comes here multiple times a week and he loves it! Always great service and ambiance. read more

I have been here twice now. Service is kind of slow, but food is really good and prices are reasonable.

I miss Mongolian food from LA and this place is great. Only one bowl per person, not all you can eat. Really great options!

Smacks! loved all the choices of sauce vegetables and noodles. Owners a good job showing you what to do what could be better

Went into the nastiest restaurant I have ever been in. All if the tables were filthy, food on the floor, sticky food trays. We left!

I like to come here for a change from the Asian buffets that's prevalent in Clinton and surrounding areas, the process is simple, choose your vegetables, then protein, sauce and seasonings and they'll stir fry it for you. The staff is friendly and very helpful, the meat selections range from beef to poultry to seafood, I tried the squid once and found it too tough and rubbery for my liking but I just wanted to try something different. Overall I'm always satisfied when I leave, the average price for a hot bowl is 13.00 dollars if you include a drink. read more

I am only giving a 1 star because zero isn't an option. We walked in, she gave us our bowls and told us to grab a tray. The trays were dirty and sticky. The bowls were all chipped up. I started to fill the bowl and a cockroach came from the food and crawled towards me. Most of the food options were empty or had a tiny amount of food. Once I saw the roach, we were done. I was turned off by the cleanliness of the place when we walked in but was willing to give the food a shot. But the bug was a complete no for me. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Bussin! But the dining area and food bar needs a deep cleaning. The inside atmosphere would be nice if a little more. There was also one cook which made the service slow. Other than that food was very good. read more

The service was top notch, very attentive and the food was cooked to order exactly as I'd asked. We had a party of 18 and were the first customers of the day as soon as they had unlocked the doors. Despite the big party, they were welcoming and every order was accurate. The food was delicious, but what would bring me back was the wonderful staff. I highly recommend them for a quick meal. read more

This place doesn't look like much. Nothing fancy, but man is the food good! This little family run place is nothing fancy. But what I did love was the quality of food. The food was cooked just right, and the noodles in with it just hit the spot. I love to support family businesses and this one is going to be a regular spot for our family. read more

This restaurant is a little easy to overlook, but it is a hidden gem. The food was fresh and cooked right in front of you. It was delicious! I will definitely go there again. read more

This was my first visit at this restaurant . It was recommended by a friend. Upon entering some guy I assumed worked there was shucking peas on a far table . A little boy about 12 came to assist us. I thought was weird but he did a great job serving us. He told us how to prepare our food . Him and his little brother sat and watched tv . As we waited for someone to take our drink order. He forgot so no big deal we didn't trip cause I know he wasn't an employee lol . It's a small size restaurant. The Decor was decent. Good place for lunch , dates ,or groups . Overall the food was delicious . Good portion and decent price read more

I love the way this restaurant works. You pick out what vegetables you want (and the selection is big). Then you pick your meat/protein. They had the usual beef/chicken/pork, also tofu, shrimp, squid, crab and more! Then their chef hibachi cooks it all & puts it over the rice or noodles of your choice. Waitstaff seems to have English as a 2nd language, so they come across as abrupt-almost rude. read more

We are on our way to Texas from FL. today March 1,2023. We found the place where we wanted to eat. The food is above average. The service is good. Ninety percent of the tables are not bussed. The floor under our table # 2 is slippery from oil and sticky. The food area near the cooked is dirty. We are not returning to this place. I would like to add.. my husband told me, I'm glad you didn't to see the restroom. He said, it's nasty. read more

Great food! Really depends on the amount of spices you put into the dish so you can't really blame the chef for making it bad since you did it yourself. Can't wait to go again! read more

The food was just ok. We saw after we ate that we could have had a menus to help us with the food but we were not given that option .

Best Mongolian Grill in Clinton. Only Mongolian grill in Clinton. Was tasty. Will eat here again if they ever allow sit down dinning again

First time here and last time! My daughter and I were excited to try this place out, but that was cut very short when the lady, (owner, I take it by the snappy tone), marched over to my daughter and totally embarrassed her about how she mixed her sauce and meat. I told the lady that no one explained what we needed to do, and she could be a nicer about it. First, we asked a gentleman how to do the bowls and card. He explained best best he could. She was no where to be found when we first arrived. Going through the Veggie, Protein and Sauce line, we did the best we could. Finally, I asked a couple who came up. She explained and it made sense. Ask your customers when you seat them if its their first time to visit, and this problem won't happen. read more

Overall a great place to chow down. The location on here is wrong. Google them and you can find the place. It's across from Mazzios. But honestly this place is better than most of the stuff around here. I travel a lot and this place was the way to go. If you haven't had Mongolian food. It basically a create your own dish. read more

We weren't sure what to expect but were quite impressed! You are given three bowls upon arrival... the large bowl is veggies, medium bowl is protein, and small bowl is your sauce. You then complete a card, which directs you to choose steamed rice, fried rice, udon noodles, etc. I chose fried rice. That paired with the Mongolian sauce was a winner! read more

Succulent squid, chargrilled chicken, and charismatic crab await you at this diamond in the rough in the small town of Clinton, MS. Sure to one day grace the networks on a show like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives or No Reservations, Hot Bowl will leave you breathless and reaching for the fabled belt buckle to loosen up. All in all, it is a great value for a large amount of well cooked food. read more

I went by Hot Bowl Mongolia Grill on the first week of 2014 for a midweek dinner. The location is well lit and very clean. They have a menu, but most people eat from the grill. Your server will take your drink order and give you three bowls. You take these to the buffet and fill them with your choice of ingredients in this order: The largest bowl is for vegetables (only), the medium size bowl is for proteins (only), the smallest bowl is for the sauce (only). You can not get just meat in your bowls. They have a pretty good variety of vegetables. The protein section when I went included: Beef, Chicken, Pork, Shrimp, White Fish, Crab, Scallop, Mussel, Octopus, Cuttlefish and more... also Tofu, heartier mushrooms, and pineapple and whole eggs. There were maybe 10 types of sauces available that range from mild to outright chili paste. The grill cooks were good and the meal came out fast. If you combine weird flavors, it's your problem! It was I believe $9.99 per meal. The menu also includes some set combinations. read more

Nice clean place. Good Mongolian BBQ. Good sauces and seasoning for your proteins. I was really amazed by how much food you can pack into the bowls. I wish there was one of these restaurants in North Jackson. read more
