And the food is SO authentic and SO wonderful. Many years ago I spent two months in Asolo-- in summer course for singers. The Due Mori was one of our favorite dinner spots. The hostess (maybe owner at the time, was a dynamic red-headed Italian diva (in the good sense) named Gabriella. I can still see her smile. Of course I've been back many times since those student days. The place carries on the tradition-- this is the real deal! Bravi tutti!! Gabriella is probably smiling down from an eternal terrace and saying "Va bene!" Everything's fine... but really, better than fine.. I remember the open wood fire with a grill on it-- and things roasting....and pastas to die for-- and first conversations with young singers from various countries struggling with our only language we had in common-- Italian! We communicated and we dined in this painting. (And we were spoiled forever!) Si mangia bene qui!" One eats well here-- But take your time. Savor it-- the food, the view, the people, the place.
