The best food I had in all of Seville.. stopped by this place for late dinner during my recent trip…read moreto Seville and this place did not disappoint. We ordered their roasted lamb with cous cous, garlic shrimp croquetta (that was the croquetta of the day), pork cheek stew with potato purée and the chocolate panna cotta for dessert. We also ordered their sangria and tinto de verano. Every dish we ordered was AMAZING - tasty flavorful well seasoned melt in your mouth meat bursting with flavors. We devoured every bite and it was hard to pick a favorite. Both the lamb and pork dishes were 11/10. Not just the taste but the presentation of every tapa was fantastic. Their drinks were also great. The dessert was to die for. This place is super packed during peak dinner hours and there is barely any room to stand. Since we walked in around 11pm, we got a seat and were well taken care of all thru the night. Also noticed alot of veggie options on the menu which was great. Service was awesome ambience is chic. I am certain I am going to crave their tapas once I am back home. Highly highly recommend this place when in Seville.

Where do I begin? Let's talk about the ambience. Tables perhaps a bit close together, not terribly comfortable. Loud, busy. As far as the service, it was our impression that our waiter was the only person serving the 30 or so tables in their dining room. Suffice it to say the service was not fast and not good. Inexplicably, every time we ordered a Coke we were asked if we wanted a Coke Zero. If I wanted a Coke Zero I would have said the words Coke Zero. Even when I asked for another Coke, he again asked "Coke Zero?" It took next to forever to get the check, and forever to get a cappuccino. At one point I took it upon myself to point the waiter to a table behind us that had been desperately attempting to get his attention. This was all not good. As to the food. First, our fault for not knowing what tataki meant. We did not expect to receive salmon that was seared on the outside and raw on the inside. So that one is on us, although we also think the meal came tepid at best. The lamb on couscous was dry and tough. The pork cheek stew was actually pretty good if a bit gluey. The calamari was good. The sushi as they called it was average. What they called the tiramisu was more like a pudding with some liqueur and chocolate on the top, and a little bit of breadish stuff in the bottom. Not my idea of tiramisu, and probably not yours either. So we could not get too excited about these various dishes. But what was particularly frustrating and bizarre was that two people sitting across from us ordered food that looked absolutely delicious. So we got to sit there wondering why we didn't order what they ordered. They ordered a large beef dish with potatoes which is on the menu, and we think they ordered a large octopus meal although we are not sure. Everything they had looked better than anything we had. So it may be that we somehow just picked the wrong items. So it was a strangely frustrating meal. This place has good reviews and we expected good tasting food. Unfortunately it did not work out that way, and the ambience and service were negative contributing factors. I can't entirely write this place off, only because the food other diners received actually looked very good. But I don't think I would go there again.

This is a Michelin ***. My review is obviously superfluous, but anyways…read more.. This is top-caliber food. Some particularly impressive appetizers included the cod bun (super intense fish flavor without being fishy), the appetizer meat stock, the bread service (perhaps the best pita I've ever had, and the most crunchy croissant I've had in years). Among the main dishes, the beluga lentils were super rich in flavor, the sea bass was cooked perfectly with some perfectly crispy skin, and I didn't even know almonds could be pickled. Unlike at the last *** I went to, there were no dishes that left me entirely confused, although some flavors were still unfamiliar in a good way. My dining companions liked their wine tasting, which I didn't try. My only complaint would be that despite the historical posturing of the menu/performance art, the service was aloof enough that we weren't always entirely sure what we were eating. Unlike at Scandinavian ***s, the servers aren't especially chatty, so while the food was delicious, I'm not sure I fully appreciated the historical project.

Ohhhh man was it dissapointing... Three stars??? Aside from some superb wines--What am I missing? The expereince starts with a hand washing "ritual" they poor some water over your hands essentially... awkward. For me this was rather gimmicky and strange, as was the little board timeline thing which was ultimately irrelevant to the wide ranging ingredients used throughout. The english used at reception and at times throughout the meal was so rehersed it felt uncomfortable and unnatural. As this is spain I can forgive that. I was the first guest to enter the restaurant. As I sat alone in a still and nearly silent room the entire service team and kitchen gawked at me as I waited uncomfortably for the experience to begin. The menu was so unmemorable I cant even recall most of the first dishes, a little tuna bite no better than an average sushi joint. A mildly flavored rosemary soup of some kind that totally missed. There were two maybe even three savory dishes with some frozen element which has been a big fad recently and I heavily disliked them. Maybe thats personal preference but it was not working. After leaving I literally went and ate a whole bocadillo con morcilla and an ice cream cone haha, which was better than both deserts combined. I was very hungry arriving and left feeling as though I had mainly filled up on bread. Which they serve three different styles without butter or olive oil. The breads are good but they are not good enough to stand up without some accompaniment. The bread and butter at Bardal for instance was insanely good. A simple thing like that can work but not when your bread is meh. The Fish entree with spinach was probably the best of the dishes but nothing was great. I have been to many one star places with better food. Ultimately I was very dissapointed. I have no clue how this gets 3 stars and Bardal has two. They are not even the same league of quality in my mind.
