Probably the most instagrammable restaurant I've ever come across. And at risk of sounding basic, I loved it. There is plenty of beautiful natural light, the space feels super airy, the tables are spaced out to give you lots of room from your neighbors and there are gorgeous plants all around. The best part is, the food is designed to match this space. It's more creative and elevated than your traditional Andalusian restaurant, and uses some fairly unique ingredients. We had: Salmorejo - Cordoba is famous for this soup so I had to try it. It was so good. I never knew I loved cold soup so much before this trip, but it's just so refreshing and and flavorful and it doesn't feel heavy despite being a puréed soup (rather than broth). Duck confit minced and boletus puntalette - It's a pasta dish prepared as risotto and if nobody told me it was pasta I would have had no idea. Rich and flavorful and tasty, although I couldn't have much since it's a creamy dish and I'm lactose intolerant Cod tripe stew with sheep cream milk, homemade gnocchis, and garlic croutons - Ordered this for the novelty of cod tripe. It ended up being primarily gnocchi and a creamier dish than I was expecting (though should have known given the sheep cream milk). Cod tripe is chewy and thinner than normal beef tripe, and I think j would have enjoyed it more in another preparation. All about the Lemon! - Was super conflicted between this dessert and the daily special but opted for the lemon one since it's their signature. I loved this dessert, it's lots of fun as you get to crack the "lemon" and then mix in the lemon shell with the foam and cream. I loved the foam / cream and the sponge cake was a nice balance to it. read more

There were several restaurants within walking distance of the Mezquita. We were between a few places and are happy we ended up at Regadera. It was one of the best meals we had during our trip. The herb garden near the kitchen was an indicator of the fresh herbs and spices used in the dishes. I started with the Salmorejo. It was topped with bread crumbs and Iberian ham. The consistency and flavor were perfect. It was the best Salmorejo I had during our trip. The fresh herbs added a little complexity. I also ordered the Warm Asparagus salad with Iberian ham, mayonnaise foam, and lime sesame vinaigrette. It was amazing. If we had an equivalent restaurant locally, I would be there every week. Floral accents can be found throughout the sleek, bright, and open space of Regadera, Spanish for watering can. There was an a-ha moment when we idly looked up the meaning of the name while sipping a few craft beers, brewed in Cordoba. Odd theme for an eatery, yet tastefully used to create an ambience like a summer backyard party, albeit one at a more affluent home than I'm used to. This is a sophisticated restaurant. The dishes are elegantly constructed, centered on Spanish cuisine with international influences, and beautifully plated. As casual as the restaurant may appear, the food would be at home in a far more imposing place. The prices are commensurate with that, yet a steal for the quality served. Their salmorejo, a soup native to Cordoba and so recently a subject for introduction while traveling in Andalusia, is a superb version. Flawlessly creamy, rich, refreshing, and fragrant with olive oil, served with refined versions of the usual toppings: crushed soft-boiled egg, bread crumbs, and acorn Iberian ham. Another revelatory food find in Spain were ortiguillas de mar, or sea anemones. Regadera prepares it the way it is most liked here, battered and deep-fried, then perches them atop a beautiful mound of eggs soft-scrambled with seaweed, doused with briny beads of trout roe. The touches of the sea are apropos. The eggs are a fabulous pairing. The anemones themselves? Nutty, almost like some offal in flavor, tender with a slight chew, and encased in a perfectly executed batter, light as air. As with most Spanish restaurants, there is no sense of rush. We could have sipped beer or coffee, enjoyed a dish or two along with the complimentary olives and bread basket with butter at the same pace as anywhere else, which is to say hours. The staff, much more confident in English than most places we visited although we still gamely ordered in Spanish, were friendly and there as needed. Went for lunch - what a great looking place with fresh herbs growing outside the glass-enclosed kitchen and an open airy feel to the entire restaurant. The Sea Anemone over Fresh Seaweed was something we had never seen offered before so of course we had to try it - Very Good - as was the Sea Bass Ceviche. Along with bread & olives it was a fantastic lunch. With 2 beers the bill came to around $43 US. This is a place not to miss just out of range of touristy places but close enough. read more

I don't give 5 stars lightly, I've been elite and I'm quite picky on where or what I eat. This place is one of the best I've ever experienced in my life, it's also reasonably priced, you might reach this level in great Michelin restaurants in Italy but you would spend at least twice. Trust me I know cause I've been there. I won't give you suggestions on what plates you might have that are good because I've tasted several and they ALL where outstanding. The staff is friendly, take their business seriously, even the desserts (postres) were great. Go there and experience a great chef at work. Then let me know if it isn't worth your 5 stars. We had a great night there! I must say I would give 4.5 out of 5 stars. However, the outstanding service pushes me to round the review up (by the way, they speak perfect English). We tried four dishes. Clearly the meat dishes are the star of the show. An absolute must try is the "Carrillada". Tender, mouth-watering traditional meat cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the "Chivito" a lot (out-of-menu choice). We also got the "Tuna tartar" and the "Ceviche". The tuna tartar was good. Perhaps I missed a twist of soy sauce in the side. I also liked the ceviche, although I am not sure about the apple. Personally, I would change the apple by avocado (personal opinion). The wine was a great surprise: Red Wine "Descalzos viejos" from Ronda. Best wine I have tried in a while. We got 2 bottles! TRY IT! The waiter was very helpful and diligent. I really did not like this restaurant. I know that there are a lot of people who highly rate this place on both Yelp and Tripadvisor, but I just did not like any of the food that I ate. I'll admit that the presentation was great. The place looked clean, modern-yet-homey, and I was greeted with a little chalkboard with my name written on it at the table that I reserved which was pretty cute. The bread that they served tasted a little bit off and I just wasn't a fan of the breadsticks, but I was still excited for the main course which wound up being a fish dish that I ordered. I think the fish would have tasted great if it weren't for the overpowering smell and taste of horseradish. I ordered the dish thinking that it would be a hint of horseradish that would enhance the flavor of the fish, but it was so overpowering that I couldn't finish the meal (which is rare because I love fish). Anyways, I know that a lot of people really like this restaurant so take this review with a grain of salt - it might have just been an off day or I might've gotten the wrong dish, but I really did not like my experience here. read more

Friendly staff. Great presentation with creative dishes. Lil pricey for cordoba, but you get what you pay for. Tuna tartare was great! Salmonrejo was delicious as well. LOVED the Carifa IPA. My wife is pregnant and waiter even talked with chef to help make adjustments for foods that would be safe for her to consume. We would go back again! First this restaurant moved to near Amaltea. Second it is a superb gourmet restaurant. It's not your run of the mill tapas and paella tourist restaurant. So if you want tourist food you will be dissatisfied and feeling you have overpaid. It is a Michelin type food quality, unpretentious but fine dining at a very reasonable price for what you get. Would come here again. In fact if it was in San Francisco it would be packed and I would come all the time. Best quality meal in Spain so far. So if you are into gourmet dining this place is cheap and excellent. If you aren't you will be wondering what this strangely made food is. read more

This was our third stop on the tapas tour around Córdoba. Here we sat outside, which was a nice quiet spot. I don't remember the exact name, but we got some sort of cod with a breading and it was delicious! I also enjoyed the rioja wine. This place was absolutely fantastic. We made a reservation and they had our table all set when we arrived with a little chalk board with my name on it at the table. We ordered a bottle of red wine - our server was fantastic and helped us pick out a very reasonable and local bottle, and his English was perfect. To eat, we ordered their house salad, the tuna tartare, and the pork cheeks. The salad was amazing - it's difficult to find salads (or vegetables at all) in Spain and we could've each eaten a whole plate of this salad ourselves. We didn't want it to end! The salad dressing was homemade and delicious and the lettuce was a mix of lettuce that all tasted fresh, crisp, and juicy. Also, the tuna tartare was to die for. I think it was the best tuna tartare I've ever had. The tuna was so fresh and the homemade wasabi was perfectly spicy and fresh. It has pistachios and sesame seeds mixed in - I wish I could have another plate of it! Highly, highly recommend this spot!! One of the best meals I've had in a long time and definitely in the last two weeks I've been in Spain (fighting words, yes). From the get go, the service was inviting and warm. The decor and ambience was the same - really good music playing in the background - James Blake. But on to the comida - from the local olives and freshly baked bread/breadsticks with olive oil and salted butter and my first glass of house red, it was an auspicious beginning. At the gentleman's recommendation, I had the butterfish ceviche and as a 2nd course their off-menu special - a Parmintiera - sous vide egg over parmesan mashed potatoes topped with black chanterelles (trompetas de la muerta) and slices of actual truffle. First glass of the fino tinto was from the north (very minerally) it was more than fine. Second one was a Toro - it was a complex bouquet of you know. For dessert, I had the Violet (as in flowers) Ice Cream with strawberries and balsamic vinegar and butter cookie crumble with meringue on the side. Nuff said.
