    Best Salmorejo in Spain
    Caitlin A.

There were several restaurants within walking distance of the Mezquita. We were between a few places and are happy we ended up at Regadera. It was one of the best meals we had during our trip. The herb garden near the kitchen was an indicator of the fresh herbs and spices used in the dishes. I started with the Salmorejo. It was topped with bread crumbs and Iberian ham. The consistency and flavor were perfect. It was the best Salmorejo I had during our trip. The fresh herbs added a little complexity. I also ordered the Warm Asparagus salad with Iberian ham, mayonnaise foam, and lime sesame vinaigrette. It was amazing. If we had an equivalent restaurant locally, I would be there every week. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Stopped in for a quick bite right when they opened. Tried the ceviche based on the server's recommendation. Presentation was beautiful, and the taste was exquisite. It was a little on the salty side, but I love salty foods so it worked for me.

Floral accents can be found throughout the sleek, bright, and open space of Regadera, Spanish for watering can. There was an a-ha moment when we idly looked up the meaning of the name while sipping a few craft beers, brewed in Cordoba. Odd theme for an eatery, yet tastefully used to create an ambience like a summer backyard party, albeit one at a more affluent home than I'm used to. This is a sophisticated restaurant. The dishes are elegantly constructed, centered on Spanish cuisine with international influences, and beautifully plated. As casual as the restaurant may appear, the food would be at home in a far more imposing place. The prices are commensurate with that, yet a steal for the quality served. Their salmorejo, a soup native to Cordoba and so recently a subject for introduction while traveling in Andalusia, is a superb version. Flawlessly creamy, rich, refreshing, and fragrant with olive oil, served with refined versions of the usual toppings: crushed soft-boiled egg, bread crumbs, and acorn Iberian ham. Another revelatory food find in Spain were ortiguillas de mar, or sea anemones. Regadera prepares it the way it is most liked here, battered and deep-fried, then perches them atop a beautiful mound of eggs soft-scrambled with seaweed, doused with briny beads of trout roe. The touches of the sea are apropos. The eggs are a fabulous pairing. The anemones themselves? Nutty, almost like some offal in flavor, tender with a slight chew, and encased in a perfectly executed batter, light as air. As with most Spanish restaurants, there is no sense of rush. We could have sipped beer or coffee, enjoyed a dish or two along with the complimentary olives and bread basket with butter at the same pace as anywhere else, which is to say hours. The staff, much more confident in English than most places we visited although we still gamely ordered in Spanish, were friendly and there as needed. A lovely find in Cordoba, on the Guadalquivir river, close to the Mezquita.

This place is horrible. The design and the vibe of the restaurante is good but the food is not that well. You can't even taste what you are eating. The waiters are not respectful to the clients and I would not recommend this place.

    Dessert!

Wanted to check this out but the location is a construction site. Let me know if it's moved.

Wonderful! Modern space. Friendly and patient staff. Cebiche and croquettes were our favorites.

This is a Michelin ***. My review is obviously superfluous, but anyways…read more.. This is top-caliber food. Some particularly impressive appetizers included the cod bun (super intense fish flavor without being fishy), the appetizer meat stock, the bread service (perhaps the best pita I've ever had, and the most crunchy croissant I've had in years). Among the main dishes, the beluga lentils were super rich in flavor, the sea bass was cooked perfectly with some perfectly crispy skin, and I didn't even know almonds could be pickled. Unlike at the last *** I went to, there were no dishes that left me entirely confused, although some flavors were still unfamiliar in a good way. My dining companions liked their wine tasting, which I didn't try. My only complaint would be that despite the historical posturing of the menu/performance art, the service was aloof enough that we weren't always entirely sure what we were eating. Unlike at Scandinavian ***s, the servers aren't especially chatty, so while the food was delicious, I'm not sure I fully appreciated the historical project.

I should start by saying I was very enthusiastic and excited to come to Noor (high expectations) as…read moreI like the style and flavors of north Africa and southern Spain more then anywhere else in the world. Ohhhh man was it dissapointing... Three stars??? Aside from some superb wines--What am I missing? The expereince starts with a hand washing "ritual" they poor some water over your hands essentially... awkward. For me this was rather gimmicky and strange, as was the little board timeline thing which was ultimately irrelevant to the wide ranging ingredients used throughout. The english used at reception and at times throughout the meal was so rehersed it felt uncomfortable and unnatural. As this is spain I can forgive that. I was the first guest to enter the restaurant. As I sat alone in a still and nearly silent room the entire service team and kitchen gawked at me as I waited uncomfortably for the experience to begin. The menu was so unmemorable I cant even recall most of the first dishes, a little tuna bite no better than an average sushi joint. A mildly flavored rosemary soup of some kind that totally missed. There were two maybe even three savory dishes with some frozen element which has been a big fad recently and I heavily disliked them. Maybe thats personal preference but it was not working. After leaving I literally went and ate a whole bocadillo con morcilla and an ice cream cone haha, which was better than both deserts combined. I was very hungry arriving and left feeling as though I had mainly filled up on bread. Which they serve three different styles without butter or olive oil. The breads are good but they are not good enough to stand up without some accompaniment. The bread and butter at Bardal for instance was insanely good. A simple thing like that can work but not when your bread is meh. The Fish entree with spinach was probably the best of the dishes but nothing was great. I have been to many one star places with better food. Ultimately I was very dissapointed. I have no clue how this gets 3 stars and Bardal has two. They are not even the same league of quality in my mind.
