It honestly felt like a plant lover's paradise. What really made the visit stand out, though, was how welcoming and knowledgeable the staff were. I had a few questions about which plants would do best for my yard, and they took the time to explain my options and even gave me care tips to help them thrive. On top of all that, the prices were very reasonable. For the quality of plants they offer, it felt like a great value, especially compared to the big box stores. You can really tell they take pride in what they grow and sell. I try to support small, local businesses whenever I can, and this is exactly the kind of place that makes that feel good. You're not just getting beautiful, healthy plants, you're supporting people who genuinely care about what they do and are invested in the community. I'll definitely be coming back soon (I already have my eye on a few hanging plants I didn't get this time). Highly recommend if you're looking for quality plants, friendly service, and great value, all while shopping local.

Go here before the big boxes! The furniture is laid out by rooms, plus a few dish, art, and lighting sections, so it's pretty easy to find your furniture genre. A pallet of tiles and some paints was also available. I didn't have the experience of donating, yet, but the browsing was a decent experience. Alas, the novelty kids bed was gone before I could inquire. The store has a facebook page if you want a head start in your browsing. The staff (or volunteers?) on site were kind. Overall, a good and green experience.

Laminate furniture appears to match prices you could get for new at Target, and it's dinged up here. But building supplies, drawer handles, sinks and other fixtures, and some appliances, as well as windows, doors, etc, are often priced well and can be the best match for someone looking for specific styles to match an older house, for example. I did find a very nice solid oak sofa table to refinish here last time, though, for only $50, so if you're here anyway for the affordable stuff, you might find a stray diamond in the rough.

Our neighbors appreciate the dramatic yard makeover as much as we do! Scovill's Landscaping is a family operation, and they are all terrific people with great ideas, vision and were a joy to work with. Initially, Tyler and his wife Gillian spent quality time with us as we hashed out our landscaping ideas. These ideas were followed up with detailed measurements and assessments. This ensured that our landscaping would not only look good but be engineered for a lifetime of enjoyment. Tyler Scovill and his team were punctual, professional and always kind and friendly. I would highly recommend Scovill Landscaping for design, install, and maintenance to those who are particular and want outstanding service.

The scaled our land and knew exactly what needed to be done to safely build out our playground. They timely sent us a design and explained in detail what was needed to ensure the playground would turn out perfect. When we had a couple follow up questions, they responded immediately. They were efficient yet thorough in their work, not leaving until the grounds were perfect. You can tell immediately when you meet Gillian and Tyler that they love what they do, they love meeting new people, and they have a deep sense of pride in the beautiful spaces they design and create. We didn't feel like clients, we felt like family.

This was our first visit to Newington's Ollie's, and we scored a fantastic deal. I am the Committee Chair for a convention next month, and one of the participation activities for the conventioneers will be assembling kits to donate to a Boston charity for children in need. We are set on the school supply side, but we are still a little short on the socks and underwear side for 50 boys and girls. So, when I saw a "15% off" email from Ollie's, it seemed like a divine sign to make a pilgrimage to the new Ollie's in Newington. And guess what we found? How about 5-packs of boy's underwear marked down to $2.99? BEFORE our 15% discount. Thank you, Lord Ollie. Ollie's was stocked to the gills and very neatly shelved. We bought this eclectic mix of goods: a big bag of Dot's pretzels, five boxes of K Cup coffees, a bottle of shampoo, a jar of pickled zucchini, a jar of salsa, and 20 of the aforementioned underwear 5-packs for just a shocking $88. Ollie's is a fun store to browse around in, and today we made out like bandits.

My husband came here earlier this week and could not stop talking about how nice everyone was. I was so pleased to hear this so when we realized we needed another lambs ear plant I decided to go with him to pick it up. Upon entering you are greeted by everyone. Definitely nice workers (in orange attire). However it stops there once you get to the register. I needed another lambs ear plant to match the one my husband got two days prior. Unfortunately all of these plants were not in the best condition. I needed to get one to match the one we got a couple days before but because it wasn't 100% healthy I assumed they would not charge me full price as there were no other plants in better condition. When I inquired at the register the woman was super nice and tried to see if they had any more. Unfortunately they did not and only had what was out. Meanwhile as she is on the phone talking to the staff, an older gentleman immediately turned away from me and said "I don't have time for this" and huffed at me. He basically made the woman at the register take care of me when he clearly was a supervisor or something and could've acknowledged my concern. After a worker came up to me to assess the plant he seemed a little uneasy when the older gentleman all angry was nearby and said my plant was fine. I'll attach pictures but I really don't think I should've spent full price on something that wasn't this unhealthy two days ago. I'm hoping it will revive like the man said but considering I am a returning customer I found the whole situation off putting. I mean even if they couldn't give me a discounted rate for the unhealthy plant at least tell me when you'd get more in that would be in a better condition. There was literally no conversation. Probably will not be coming here again unless I really need something unique.
