What can you say about this historic establishment that has not been said before…read more Love the atmosphere! Old school diner feel with amazing servers. It truly shows why this establishment has survived the better part of a century. Sausage (local) was good and hearty! Paired it with two perfectly cooked over easy eggs. The buttermilk pancake was perfection. Light and fluffy, soaked the butter and syrup up quite nicely! Definitely check out this breakfast spot if you are in town. I know I will be back!

The food itself was a bit of a split decision. The ham steak was excellent--hands down the best I've ever had. The pancakes were good (and MASSIVE) although I ordered banana pancakes which were basically plain pancakes with ONE slice of banana on the top...pretty disappointing in that regard but they still tasted good. The bacon was really good. However, I was surprised and disappointed that they don't serve hash browns or any kind of potatoes at all, which feels like a big miss for a breakfast spot. The restaurant is extremely crowded, and the atmosphere just isn't my style. It's very diner‑ish, which some people may enjoy, but it's not for me. That said, our waitress was genuinely kind and very helpful, which was a pleasant change. Years ago, I had a bad experience here where we felt rushed out the door, and it left such a bad impression that I swore I'd never return. Service this time was much better, and I do give credit where it's due. Overall, while there were some standout items on the menu, the long wait, crowded space, and limited sides mean I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Definitely not worth an hour wait in my opinion.

Breakfast is the only meal we tried but we tried it for two days out of our trip. Alicia was our server and she was knowledgeable about the menu and beautifully navigated a dairy allergy for one of our party. Many thanks for some great meals!

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would!! Our food was charred and tasted burned, we ordered burgers, an omelet, and a breakfast plate. The omelet had pieces of burned burger bits in it from the grill. The waitresses were sitting at a table next to ours eating (in between waiting on the kitchen to prep orders) and counting their cash tips while wrapping silverware in napkins. With no hand washing after handling their cash!! After our meal I asked to use their restroom, and I was instructed to go back through the kitchen to the last door on the right. I was in complete shock at the sight of the tiny double galley kitchen, filthy, food droppings everywhere, multiple trash cans overflowing with nasty trash, witnessed one employee digging into a can of black olives with his bare hands and his fingernails were filthy!!! By the back door there was a huge mixer with batter in it stuck to the whisk just sitting there across from the bathroom door. It was hot, cramped, and muggy. Stinky, filthy and definitely not sanitary. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I was so disgusted and decided to write this review so that anyone who is thinking of eating here will know not to!!!

For us it took about an hour to get our food, after watching 4 tables that came later than us get food much sooner - most were done eating and left as we got our started with our food. Our waitress had to go back 3 times to try to get our food. Eventually, my husband had to talk to someone else too to get it. I saw another table (again arrived after us) get the wrong order at least 3 times going back and forth to get it right, and we still weren't served yet. Tbh I was about to leave, but we did get our food eventually. I could hear one man complaining about running out of product, new staff not being able to make drinks, and other complaints. He spent a lot of time at the bar and talking with one customer, complaining about things. He then told that customer he'd call him later about "predicamens" and problems he was having. Not sure if he was the owner or manager, but odd to hear in a room full of customers. Then I heard profanity from a male voice in the back referring to someone as a "jack a**". Only 2 people were really helping us. Our waitress who was super spread thin and a nice lady at the bar. The other servers and staff ignored our table. Service was so bad, that a table of six who came in towards the end of our stay literally never got service at all and left after about 10 to 15 minutes. Our server and the lady at the bar were very apologetic about the wait and were friendly. They gave us some extra food for free to try to help, knowing we'd been there for so long. Ambience is a cute ocean/lake theme and the food was good - really solid bennedict and very good chocolate chip pancakes. The home fries and grits were also good and I thought the sausage balls were a cool way to do that part of the dish. However, the service issues are in serious need of repair.
