They were for real struggling today. I hope that this was just an off day, but we did not have the best service experience. For us it took about an hour to get our food, after watching 4 tables that came later than us get food much sooner - most were done eating and left as we got our started with our food. Our waitress had to go back 3 times to try to get our food. Eventually, my husband had to talk to someone else too to get it. I saw another table (again arrived after us) get the wrong order at least 3 times going back and forth to get it right, and we still weren't served yet. Tbh I was about to leave, but we did get our food eventually. I could hear one man complaining about running out of product, new staff not being able to make drinks, and other complaints. He spent a lot of time at the bar and talking with one customer, complaining about things. He then told that customer he'd call him later about "predicamens" and problems he was having. Not sure if he was the owner or manager, but odd to hear in a room full of customers. Then I heard profanity from a male voice in the back referring to someone as a "jack a**". Only 2 people were really helping us. Our waitress who was super spread thin and a nice lady at the bar. The other servers and staff ignored our table. Service was so bad, that a table of six who came in towards the end of our stay literally never got service at all and left after about 10 to 15 minutes. Our server and the lady at the bar were very apologetic about the wait and were friendly. They gave us some extra food for free to try to help, knowing we'd been there for so long. Ambience is a cute ocean/lake theme and the food was good - really solid bennedict and very good chocolate chip pancakes. The home fries and grits were also good and I thought the sausage balls were a cool way to do that part of the dish. However, the service issues are in serious need of repair. read more

I love this place. Hot Springs has needed a more upscale breakfast/brunch place for a long time! Atmosphere is wonderful and this place was busy on a Wednesday at 11am. My wife ordered the lobster roll with home fries and a cup of french onion soup. Her soul was the best we've had! She loved the lobster roll.( at $26 it was pricey but the portions/quality were good). I ordered the chicken and waffle. It was good, but I wish the thai maple sauce had more of a kick and the waffle a but more crunchy. We are looking forward to going again and trying a few more things. read more

The grits alone are worth the visit. Just be sure to add salt and/or sugar to it. It's super creamy and comforting and I could've made a meal out of it. The chicken and waffles is a classic dish and they did it justice. The chicken had a hint of heat and the eggs and waffle were perfectly dressed with this light spicy-sweet syrup. The service was very good. The staff was friendly and worked well together to make sure we had everything we needed. The serving sizes of our meals left us absolutely satisfied. Best food we had during our week in Arkansas! I wouldn't complain about the food in the slightest. We were one of the first tables in for Valentine's Day morning and the place filled up FAST. But we were there way before the crowd came. (Business is pretty small in size). There was only one server, one dish person and one cook. The food was absolute perfection, the cook is fantastic at his job. The service kinda sucked though. I get she was busy but she went out of her way to ignore me during our visit. We waited over 15 minutes to get my diabetic boyfriend a juice when his blood sugar was low. I went to the counter to ask for it and the server choice to ignore me, finally make the drink and then drop it off at our table- without ever acknowledging me. She would also walk away mid sentence when I was responding to her (I'm always polite to servers, I used to be one. I know the stress). The food being the high quality it was is what saved this place, the service could have been improved. A servers bad mood shouldn't be taken out on her tables. read more

The creamer for our coffee came in a cup so it was a mess. And a cup of coffee was $4!! I got the egg Benedict for $16. The eggs were slightly under cooked. I ordered grits with this and they had an odd flavor to them. My husband got the plain sailing and ordered sausage and an extra egg. The sausage came in balls and didn't amount to much. Hate to leave bad review but breakfast was a bad experience. Super busy morning which I totally understand. Don't mind waiting, but you must deliver good food especially when you waited for long while. The chicken and waffles would have been ok, but the peanut sauce was way too much. My waffle was drenched with the sauce and the taste was awful. My husband ordered his eggs over medium and specifically told the waitress to make sure the whites were done. After waiting 30 minutes, the eggs finally arrived and were severely undercooked. The waitress never checked on us or we would have sent them back. I would not recommend. read more

Had heard good things about this place and I get excited anytime I see 'chicken and waffles' on a menu. Not quite the experience we would brag about.  Now I will say we were a larger party (4 adults and 3 kids). When we arrived, tables were full, but staff seemed less than engaged, almost as if they did not want to be there.  We did get seated, and our waitress brought coloring books for the kids.  There were 4 tables that were seated after us, but received their food before us...actually 2 of the tables had finished their meals before we even got ours.  The waitress did bring out a small fruit bowl for the kids to share while waiting.  Now for the food, well, it was brought out in stages, so some of the food was cooler than it should have been.  The presentation was so-so.  The bacon was beyond crispy.  My dad had pancakes that had something green in them.  When we reported this to our waitress, her response was "well what does it taste like?" Followed by "sorry, our prep area is very confined and some items may have crossed over to the other station."  We were speechless at this comment, especially since 4 of the adults have a background in the food industry. Nevertheless, we went, we tried, but we won't go back. We were sorely disappointed, especially given the other google reviews. But as I'm only in town for a short time each year, I have no intention of going back to give them another shot. Our friend Cindy, recommend we try Poached. The place has been open for about three months and has that friendly family owned and run vibe. We were greeted as we entered and told we could sit anywhere that was open. Menu covers all the basics, eggs, pancakes, waffle. Coffee and water appears almost immediately, I ordered a large OJ, which came in a very large (12 - 16 oz) wine glass. I had the traditional Benedict with Canadian Bacon, grits and fruit. The kitchen did not skimp on the Canadian bacon which three nice size pieces across the two English muffins, fruit was fresh, the grits were very tasty with a nice consistency (not thin or watery). Obviously they know how to do breakfast. Jane had biscuits sticks with sausage and bacon gravy. Six or so rectangular biscuits which we good on their own but the star of this dish was the gravy. Good enough she was willing to let me try and when we come back I will have to make sure we get it as an appetizer. They are still waiting on their liquor license but that is NOT an excuse to wait, go at your first opportunity. I decided to try this place again and still No Mimosas. Staff however are very friendly. Last time I got the Canadian bacon Benedict and the ham was way too thick. This time I got the salmon Benedict and it was just O.K. the white in the egg was runny and I can't do that. Not very much hollandaise sauce. Grits are always good. Brought my hubby this time and he got the chicken and waffles and beware, they are chicken strips. To me looked very dry and he said so as well. I didn't get a pic of his. Stopped in on a Sunday around 1000. Reviews and menu looked promising. The place was definitely at max capacity, they were even using paper coffee cups for the $4 black coffee because they didn't have access to clean ceramic ones. The decor was whatever, but the 80s rock and roll music provided a good vibe. We ordered and our food took about 15 mins to arrive to table. When it arrived, everything was at room temperature. The over medium eggs were slightly underdone as the white part was still watery in places. The lox and bacon were good. We paid $40 after tip for two. Can't say anything about the food because we never got past the God awful service. We walked in and were stared at by about 5 employees who were busy, but not busy enough to give us zero attention. Finally, someone asked "how many y'all got?" I told her 4, she mumbled and pointed to a dirty table full of food and drinks that had not been bussed and walked off. 2-3 minutes later I saw her giving other coffee. Another minute or so later, the table for 1/4 cleared by someone else and then they went back to helping others and left us to stand there waiting for another 3 minutes or so. We left. I had two small children who were hungry and hoping to have breakfast. Standing in the front of a crowded restaurant with a room full of people staring at you as you're ignored waiting for a table isn't the best feeling.
