Super cute shop that has breakfast and lunch items. This is a very old school vibe with old school candy from your childhood (if you were born in the 80's)! Friendly & quick service...the food was just okay.

Neat small town place. All kinds of odds and ends for sale. Really old building. I loved going upstairs and looking at the architecture. They sell everything from kitchen utensils to swords. Little toys for kids. Candy and ice cream. The menu had some sandwiches. Can't remember what else. Three small four chair tables to eat at I believe. Overall it was a nice place. Service was ok. It was neat. Prices were a bit steep. Space was limited. On a spring weekday. Kinda a maybe on if I'd go back. Not turned off. Not impressed.

Neat old store in Murfreesboro. Old time candy and gifts. Yummy ice cream. And all the ambiance you could want. I went in September and staff were wearing masks (which is pretty great!). I plan to return!

What a cute store! This place advertised ice cream out front so my husband had to go in. There were cute tables to sit at and lots of fun stuff to take in on the shelves. Different food items and drinks were there plus plenty of gift ideas to take back. The clerk was very pleasant. We enjoyed talking to him too. What a fun store and definitely worth walking inside.

Must be a seasonal thing. I didn't get it - not much to see but I'm sure in summer the ice cream and sodas taste refreshing!

Although we didn't find any diamonds, we were still very hungry and thirsty. We walked in and were greeted and quickly brought to a table. We were also handed menus which showed simple American type food. They had soda, tea, coffee, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, etc. the sides were potato salad, macaroni, tater tots, fries, slaw, etc. Everything was fairly cheap and sounded appetizing. We both got ice waters, and the 1/4 lb burgers with cheese and everything on them. We also ordered the sweet potato tater tots. Yes, you heard that right! We were curious because we had never heard of them. After about 8-10 minutes we got our food. The burger was great. Everything was juicy and fresh. Not a life changing burger but I had reasonable expectations for flavors. The sweet potato tater tots were different but quite good! They weren't crunchy like regular tots. They had a great sweet potato flavor and almost like a corn flake mixture. I wish they were crunchier but I'd still order the same thing again. I highly recommend it! Not amazing or spectacular food but great service and very cozy place to relax and rehydrate after mining. It's also very affordable. Hope you had better luck mining than we did!

This place is right in the center of town and super close to the mines. Very welcoming local atmosphere. They have plenty of tables and a large space inside to move about. This definitely checked the box for atmosphere. The space is cute and welcoming with a mix of tables for working, couches for relaxing, and little boutique-style shopping areas along the walls with clothing, gifts, jewelry, books, and more. It was quiet during our visit aside from one family with small children, which made it a nice spot to sit and chat. I ordered an iced caramel latte, my daughter got a soda (served in the can with a cup of ice), and pricing felt comparable to Starbucks or Dunkin -- which I don't mind at all when supporting a local business. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was noticing flies inside the covered container with the beignets/donut holes. I understand bugs happen, especially in smaller towns and warmer weather, but it immediately turned us off from ordering any snacks or food items. The latte itself was just OK, nothing especially memorable. That said, I would still come back if I needed a comfortable place to sit and work, read, or visit with friends. The atmosphere was honestly the highlight for me.

Cafe 1217 - A Fresh Break from the Road Trip Diet…read more What a relief to stumble into Cafe 1217 after days of heading southwest on a steady rotation of BBQ, grits, and beans. Delicious, yes... but the body eventually starts asking for a vegetable and a reset. The space itself matches that feeling. Simply decorated, with bright murals, clean lines, and a cheerful, easygoing vibe that feels light the moment you walk in. My husband gave me full ordering authority, which is always a bold move. I went straight into tapas mode because everything on the menu looked too good to choose just one. We ended up with a spread: chicken pot pie (which quickly abandoned any "small plate" intentions), field greens and baby spinach, a shrimp and crawfish cake, and one of each of Rosy's authentic hand-rolled tamales. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without that heavy, road-trip food fatigue. The mint lemonade was refreshing and delicious, a little on the sweet side, but it worked. Service, while perfectly fine, could benefit from a warmer welcome and a bit more guidance, especially for first-timers trying to navigate such an inviting menu. A little extra friendliness up front would go a long way here. Our only real regret? Not saving room for dessert. They looked very tempting, and we'll be thinking about that missed opportunity. If you're on the road and craving something lighter without sacrificing flavor, this spot is a welcome pause.
