We came here expecting a good meal. The only plate I liked was the nachos. Everything else was not good. They were out of brisket which is what I wanted we all intended to eat that. My food was cold as my fried steak was burnt! It was fine we were hungry so we ate it. But never going back! Such a sweet stop on our drive back to the Daisy State Park camping. They are so nice and the service was awesome! You cold tell by the well maintained atmosphere that these folks care about their business. They were friendly and thoughtful with our questions. As we were leaving the parking lot was filling up. Our food was so good. And the portions were huge! We probably should have shared our plate by the size of the portion! It's perfect for after a day spent out on the lake! This is the locals favorite because dust after us the tables were filling up. I love the southern hospitality! read more

Omg, the food is so incredibly good there! My favorite thing is the tamale spread! It has Fritos, tamales, your choice of meat (brisket or pork), bbq sauce on top. It is sooooo delicious! There may be more toppings but that's all I can think of. Everything I've tried there has been fantastic. The service is always friendly and attentive. We've never had to ask for anything. The restrooms are clean and smells good. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. If you're in Kirby Arkansas it'll be worth your time to stop by and treat yourself to some good food and southern hospitality. read more

The Brisket is awesome along with most everything else our group tried while we were camped during the summer however one morning we had the breakfast with the " Homemade gravy" and were sadly disappointed that it wasn't truly homemade gravy. It was bought in a package and water or milk added to it. It tasted nothing like true homemade gravy. Anyone from the country knows that homemade gravy is not perfectly white. I don't think the menu should say homemade when it truly isn't. read more

Although there are admittedly few alternatives in this part of the world, it's hard to justify a five star average for what is, in reality, a rather mediocre BBQ shack. This is not to suggest that the 'cue served up at Sweetpea's is necessarily bad, but neither is it anything particularly inspired. While adequately juicy, the flavor is somewhat lacking when not compensated for with liberal use of the provided sauces (which are, themselves, pretty "meh"). And, perhaps worst of all, the wait time at the drive-thru is rather significant considering how few customers they are likely to see on a daily basis. That said, staff were polite and cordial despite the wait. Overall, this is a place I wouldn't necessarily mind patronizing again, but certainly won't go out of my way to seek out unless my hunger overwhelmed my willingness to drive to a nearby town. read more

A fairy nondescript little building I probably would have missed had I not already searched out good food in the area. I was in search of hot breakfast and was mildly disappointed when I failed to realize they only serve breakfast on the weekends. My disappointment was short-lived, however, because my pulled pork quesadilla was beyond delicious. I devoured every last morsel and will come back if I find myself in the area again. While driving up highway 27 we decided to stop at Sweetpea's in Kirby, AR. Small place. Large menu. Having just come from Texas where we were fed a lot of barbecue we decided to just get a hamburger. The food was very good. The service was very fast. And the lady behind the counter was very friendly. Next time we're down south we will stop in again. The place was very clean. No sticky tables or chairs. I've had the opportunity, the last few days, to visit a lot of restaurant restrooms. I can honestly say that Sweetpea's restrooms were the cleanest on our trip. This place is kind of remote but if you are in the neighborhood you should try this hidden gem. read more

Fantastic!!!! Small, clean, and super nice people. My husband had a double bacon cheeseburger which was juicy & flavorful. I order the chicken fried steak which wasn't a yucky frozen version, it was hand breaded & delish. We shared the Sweetpea fries which consist of seasoned fries topped with brisket, smoked beans & cheese...these were also fantastic! Do yourself a favor and eat here!! read more

We are regulars at camping in this area, and have passed by Sweetpea's thinking "We really should try that place !" We finally did , and my goodness, wish we had sooner ! Great food , friendly folks, nice atmosphere, great service ! There isn't a lot of cars a lot of times in the parking lot when we have passed by, and we found out why, it has a very convenient drive thru that we didn't know was there .. And, kudos to their breakfast, If you love a good breakfast, you will be pleasantly surprised. I had a delicious loaded Omelette and hash browns , hubby had eggs , hash browns , pancakes , bacon , just a really yummy place, we will definitely make this place one of our favs in the Kirby area ! Highly recommend take the more picturesque and pastoral Highway 70 Rd instead of I-30 so you can enjoy the drive and stop for some excellent succulent BBQ. My wife and I enjoyed a good sliced brisket sandwich and salad. Warm welcoming place. read more
