We called and emailed aloha aquatics to get my son registered for swim classes several times before…read morebeing responded to. We finally got a response and sent in a deposit check promptly to reserve our spot in the next months sessions. I then called a week later to see that she received my deposit check and could not get hold of her for days!! Then finally I caught her and she claimed she was going to call me that day but not "this early." It was past 8 and yes normally I wouldn't call that early but she never answered her phone so I was hoping to catch her. She then confirmed that she got my check and asked which time I would like and I told he I would check my calendar and be back to her while also asking what was the best way to contact her was since it has been difficult...she said email...so I hung up figured out a time that would work and emailed it to her...no reply. I called her about a week later to see if that time would work...no reply. FINALLY the weekend before swim lessons (on the 4th of July) she calls to leave me a message asking if I can switch another mom for a time and see u at swim lessons on Tuesday...I then called her back Sunday because I was with family and told her I could not switch to the earlier time and she said "oh ok well I'll try to make that work. See u Tuesday." And btw took several calls again to reach her. So Tuesday comes I get my son all ready he was not wanting to go so it took a lot to get him going any wanting to go to swim lessons we leave 20 minuets early even though it was located somewhere literally less than a mile from our house just in case we had by issues....and we drove around and around and around looking for this place! Could not find it anywhere!! So I'm starting to freak out because lessons re to start in just minutes and so I start calling her...I called 7 times and never got an answer....I didn't hear from her till 3 days later....so three missed swim lessons later....she finally called and said she missed us at swim lessons.....I then told her what happened and how I called over and over and told her we just were just really not impressed with her and she was very unprofessional etc she then started LAUGHING and said ohh my phone has been acting weird and not taking calls or texts..hahah and she asked if we wanted to do a make up...NO!!! If you have a business and a client doesn't show up...you go check your phone and call them. You don't call them 3 days later after three missed classes when I said I would be there and had a deposit down! So I told her we were just done and didn't want to work with her and she "oh ok. Take care." No apology ever. Absolutely stunned. Couldn't believe someone could be so unprofessional and have any clients at all. I am glad my son didn't make it into a pool with this lady. Awful!

Ellensburg Water Fitness, Memorial Pool…read more Having just turned 60, I decided to replace my existing strenuous exercise of "NONE" with three evening classes of water fitness a week. The teacher, Kim Grant, is the Real Deal. She is a Force of Nature. Her class is serious exercise expertly designed for the water. Call it "water aerobics" at your own peril: Kim's approach uses the resistance of water to build strength, endurance, and fitness. It's also part movement, muscle toning, exercise philosophy -- and music appreciation! With over 20+ years of experience Kim has developed hundreds of completely original and highly inventive methods of teaching water fitness that take full advantage of what the pool environment has to offer. When I say "hundreds" I'm not kidding: in the 20 classes since I began, there hasn't been one class that is a "repeat." Sure, there are a handful of basic routines that I'm only now getting somewhat proficient at, but each class integrates the familiar with novel moves that will leave you surprised you still have muscles that (apparently) have never been exercised. Often, the class has a "theme". For example, one recent class focused on lower body. Another was a "deep water" class, where we used water weights and the exercises required that our feet did not touch the bottom of the pool. The goal of one class was to not get any water on our face or hair -- we needed to keep our core tight and controlled. For many evening classes, the overhead lights are turned off, leaving the underwater lights to suffused the pool with a calming glow. Every class is a fresh experience -- NEVER boring! Every class has a new soundtrack. Kim teaches 4 daytime classes and 3 evening classes each week, and every one has a different playlist, usually crafted that day. I'm told she hasn't repeated a playlist in 20 years. Her taste in music is broad and encyclopedic, and I frequently discover new artists or remarkable covers of songs and request her playlist, which she is happy to provide. Every class ends with around 7 minutes of warm-down exercises and stretches that feel SO GOOD after going full tilt for 50+ minutes. The class is approximately 90% women and many of these ladies are older than me and have seriously toned muscles. Several have been in this class for 10+ years! All appear to be in excellent aerobic shape and easily outpace me -- I can barely keep up with them! Kim is a teacher with deep concern for her students. She somehow manages to guide not only the inexperienced students (like ME) but also the students with 10+ years that need a refresher on technique. Kim works hardest of all, always pushing her own limits and asking her students to challenge themselves and consider "what they need" from a particular exercise and "what they want to get out of each class." Above all, Kim genuinely has FUN teaching, and her attitude is infectious. If you have always thought about improving your health and (likely) extending your life, this is a great way to do that. Just come expecting to work!

Diving board in the deep end (12' at its deepest) and 2 lanes for lap swimming. The free swim area is fun for kids and grown ups, and there's a separate 2'6" kiddie pool. They close the hot tub on Saturday for cleaning, so that's a bummer.
