What a great park! They have a large playground and splash pad for kids here. My brother and sister-in-law took my son and me here to cool off and I was really surprised how nice this place was. I would have never known to even go here because Yelp has it under "Dog Park." My only negative is that the bathrooms are a good 3-4 minute walk from the splash pad. When you have a small child that says, "I need to go potty" it could make it a challenge to run there before your little one has an accident. Wish they had a bathroom closer to the playground and splash pad.

I recently relocated to the area and brought two of my dogs to this park. The dog area is towards the back, so it took me a minute to figure that out since I mapped to the park and it directed me to the front. The parking lot was busy since there were ball games and lacrosse happening on each field. So be careful for kids running loose through the parking lot and on bikes/skateboards. The parking area is huge and there are two parts to the dog park: small dogs and large dogs. Play pools and water bowls are at each area with a hose to refill. The grass was very green and there are benches to sit if you so choose. The area was large and perfect for a Chuck It. Overall we had a very pleasant experience and will be going back.

Another view of same area. There is even a Sandy digging area. There is a gazebo with picnic table just past the right edge of the picture.

Awesome morning at the Pawsabilities dog park in Richland, WA. One of the best dog parks we've been to, with multiple fenced play areas for small dogs vs larger. I think there are 3 small dog, and 2-3 larger dog areas. Clean, well kept, with lots of water, benches, some shade, and a wading pool in each which Keelie loves for cool-downs. If you are passing through tri-cities with your doggers, they would love a run here.

DOG PARK!!! Our dog absolutely LOVES her trips to the dog park here. We take her every Saturday and Sunday. She gets to socialize with other dogs her size (she's a low rider) and she gets a lot of open space to run. The portion of the park dedicated to dogs is 3 acres and 1 of those acres is a separate fenced area for small and shy dogs. The City of Richland maintains the dog park as well as the rest of the park's property. It's all nicely kept. The other municipalities could learn a lot from this place and replicate in their respective areas. Though, I think our dog would miss the car ride to the park. :)

If that's not pure happiness I don't know what is!!

There's tons of open space for picnics, barbecues, or just hanging out by the water, and areas to play games like volleyball. Kids will love the play area and the nearby Richland Rotary Beach too. What I also liked is how close it is to restaurants and coffee spots--just a quick 5-10 minute walk if you want to grab food or drinks. Overall, it's a really nice park with something for everyone. It's no surprise that during our time here, Howard Amon Park served as a gathering space for all the locals. We visited Howard Amon Park a few times as it's located along the Columbia River Trail with many different amenities here for multiple activities. There are many playgrounds, a small wading area for kids, water fountains, bathrooms, dog poop bags, benches, BBQ grills, and the best part - swimming docks. On those sunny days, Howard Amon Park is a great place to hang out in and cool down with a swim in the Columbia River. Howard Amon Park is located in the downtown area of Richland, walking distance to many businesses and lodging options. It's easy to find, with parking available as well as street parking that's easy to find. For some outdoor space that's in Richland, this is where to recreate.

Rated 4/5 due to the playground surface (what seems like a sandlike gravel mixture). The restrooms are no frills but (mostly) well-kept. Separate restrooms for men, women, and those who'd prefer a family/gender-neutral space. The park has a few picnic shelters with grills. Each shelter could probably accommodate 10-15 people.

There is also a sandy area on the opposite of the wake area for kids and adults alike to swim, splash, and enjoy the summer. There is a rope that prevents the public from going too far near the boat crossings and the water is deep enough to jump from the dock area. I loved the structures, in addition to all the beautiful trees, that helped give shade on this brutal summer. In addition, I noticed there were bathrooms for changing and water faucets to wash the sand off your feet with a massive parking lot that is appreciated. During my stay I also noticed a walking path and a couple of volleyball courts that were in play throughout the day. Very well done and I look forward to returning soon!
