In town and wondering what activity to do that's out of the ordinary? Go axe throwing! 1. My niece was searching on Yelp things to do in Washington, near Pasco. This place came up and so we earmarked it as an activity we definitely wanted to try. 2. I'm so glad we followed through w going because the owners (Valerie and Landon) were very welcoming and great. Landon was quick to show us the proper posture for right/left handed people, which was awesome bcuz we have both. 3. The shop is neat and unique. I've never been to an axe throwing place and this location set the standard high. When you first arrive you must sign a waiver. Their COVID-19 precautions are unmatched. You must wear a mask at all times and all the equipment is sanitized. In fact, Landon wore gloves anytime he was going to teach us techniques as to avoid possible contamination. I very much appreciated that level of respect. 4. The best part is that they have various sized axes which keeps making things interesting. My favorite was for sure the star. We then decided to play competitive games and they were nice enough to keep score for us. We had an amazing family outing and will definitely be back when we visit again. Super friendly people and such a fun activity to enjoy w family, friends or a date night. Thanks for the hospitality! Axe throwing is a GREAT and affordable source of fun in the Tri-Cities. First, Val and Landon are two of the nicest, friendliest, enthusiastic and helpful people you will ever meet. Their team will help you get the basics down and you'll be sticking the axe in no time. They also have a full selection of axe throwing supplies - tested and recommended by them. I am visiting from California and was searching for something fun to do nearby. I came across Axe KPR and we decided to go here for our family fun night! We got there and were instantly welcomed with kindness and great vibes! They take all covid safety precautions, including signing a waiver with their QR code and made sure the axes were sanitized. Landon was very personable, he took his time to explain the different types of axes and how to throw them, he even mentioned a few games we could play and even took score for us! Valerie, the other owner was extremely sweet and was cheering us on the whole time! My family and I had a blast! I'm so grateful I found this place! Loved this activity! Family was visiting from out of town. Adults, young 20-something, and teens all enjoyed getting to throw axes and stars. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The owners are awesome, took their time to explain everything with great pointers and advice to make sure you throw correctly and able to hit the target. I will be back again for sure!! The facility is very clean and well kept, the targets and axes were in good shape but the shining star of the experience was the gal working. Went in on Thursday evening in January 2022 when it was slow (almost 8pm). Only two other people were there and started at the same time. The employee tried to tell both groups how throw to "save time". There were 4 large lanes with 2 targets each lane. First time experience for my crew of 6. Horrible value for the $130/hr we spent. The twosome got a whole lane with 2 targets. They repeatedly tossed and looked like they had a good time. Meanwhile, our 6 shared the same size lane rotating slowly with the two targets. Our kids couldn't figure out how to throw by the time our time expired. I asked if we could extend to the lane next to us for practice but was told it was reserved "in case some other groups came in". Well, no one came in!! We each threw maybe 10 times. So $2 per toss. I recommend going elsewhere if you have a large family. I won't go again. read more
