This is my second five star review for him, and how many times do you ever give anyone two five star reviews, right? That tells you everything you need to know about A-Advantage Plumbing. We have unfortunately been having some irksome plumbing issues in our house this year, and that's no fun! We had a clogged toilet in one bathroom at the same time that the toilet in the second bathroom needed a new fill valve, so we had to keep turning it on and off. After that, we had a massive kitchen sink clog from hell during massive summer heat. Most recently, the flapper chain and handle on one of our toilets broke right after the completion of a pee. The bad news on every occasion was that Bill wasn't currently available, and so my brother kept nagging at me to just hire any old plumber, but I insisted every time on waiting for Bill because who wants to risk being overcharged by a plumber you don't know or trust? We put up with the kitchen sink issue, the toilet that was constantly running, and even the broken toilet with the hideous stench of rancid urine until Bill became available, and I'm so glad that we waited because Bill only charged us $200 for the fill valve replacement and there was no charge at all for clearing the clogged toilet in the other bathroom. It would've easily cost us $300 total with any other run-of-the-mill plumber. The price to clear the clog from hell in the kitchen sink was only $500, and he only charged us $164 total to resolve the broken toilet handle/flapper chain issue. Moral of the story? Take advantage of A-Advantage and hire them whenever you can, even if you have to wait, because Bill is well worth waiting for! After reading their "reply to my review" it's clear this company is exactly what I found to be…read moretrue. Not trustworthy and provides just the information they want to provide rather than the entire story. In regards to the $99 fee they charged when they came out to our home the other day, their "technician" never did a full inspection on our system nor even connected the testing equipment properly. Reviewing our camera footage with our HVAC company, it was clear their technician did a basic check then decided to quote the most expensive solutions rather than investigate the real cause. As far as "self diagnosis" on the condenser line, that was done by the HVAC company we use and we only allowed Russels to come back out as a trusted previous business we have used for almost a decade. Now that the former people we worked with at Russels are gone, the new people in charge have taken it to a level of integrity we can't recommend and are happy to be done with them. Lastly, the only rudeness was the person at Russels for trying to take advantage of a customer with misinformation and using "I'm new here sorry" but continuing to put us on hold while she had asked someone that knew the answers to provide her what to say. Sorry but that isn't an excuse to under quote and play games on the phone. Any customer would end a call when getting back and forth for 10 mins on a call with someone going in circles without providing any real pricing for a simple fee they have charged us in the past. We went against our better judgement and gave them one last opportunity to come out after that call to remedy the situation and it only reinforced our previous impression that we wasted time and this time money and felt like we were now out $99 for getting nothing but lied to. Our system works wonderfully now after a $50 repair that was done today and $400 to refill a small leak. The condenser leak was due to a crack in the pan that was never repaired from previous visited by Russels and was repaired. There was never a need to charge us in the past to "clear out the pvc line" when in fact it was only because the pan had a crack. So everyone that is the entire story. If someone gets upset and ask for a clear pricing guideline and isn't happy on the phone for being lied to, you can now see why.
