Having young horses that need ground work done, the round pen is perfect size! I would definitely recommend Long Ears Long Walk to a friend or anyone that needs to board. I have also been able to park our horse trailer and a 34' flatbed trailer (for an additional charge) but totally worth it, this facility is well watched and gated.

This adventure begins under a gazebo in the desert mountains thirty minutes outside of Reno. It's a beautiful setting. Kathleen the wildlife expert and Falconer is absolutely brilliant. She's easy going, articulate, and totally in tune with the animals. You get a feeling of awe in the close proximity to the birds. It's a magical experience to see and learn about them up close. Kathleen has dedicated her life to this endeavor and it shows. The birds are beautifully cared for. I got to wear the leather glove and have a Harris's Hawk swoop down on my wrist, take a treat and fly away. I got to see a giant Eurasian Owl and have her sit on my gloved wrist. We had the unexpected pleasure of seeing an 8 week old baby Owl and pet his downy feathers. This was a soul fulfilling day and I can't stop thinking about it. I love Sensei Kelly as he is knowledgeable and loves what he does. He has a very kind demeanor, amazing amounts of patience and is able to teach even the youngest Karate. He is able to maintain respect in a fun and friendly environment. It is wonderful to watch the three year old class. Kelly teaches Japanese Okinawan traditional karate. This dojo also participates in several Karate tournaments throughout the year. This is a family owned and family run business. I could rave about this dojo all day.

The review give by Mike is completely inaccurate. This Dojo (room or hall where judo or karate is…read morepracticed) is over the top helpful with instructors that go out of their way to help when a student is having difficulty. If a student gets hurt (which is rare but it is Karate, unarmed combat by definition) the class stops and the needs of the student is immediately addressed. The instructors are patient but do insist that each form or technique is learned correctly. As it should be, this is self defense. If not learned properly the student will be at risk if they ever need to use what they have been instructed. The student is never pushed to progress faster than they can but always receive positive reinforcement. An advantage I see in this school is that it has students that have belted in other forms of martial arts. This allows the new student with little or no background in Karate to get a broader perspective of Karate. The Dojo is true to it's style which is Shorin-Ryu so even while there are students that have studied other forms the instruction is pure Shorin-Ryu. It is a family like atmosphere not a military atmosphere like some schools I have visited. I have found this approach to actually help students progress faster with better skill because they are not directed with fear of making a mistake. In my opinion if you want to learn to protect yourself and are willing to practice along with showing up for class this is a school that will allow for very satisfying success

Steve came in and instantly made an impact. Every single session we could see our puppy Willow getting better and better. He has a way with Dogs where they truly want to listen to him.
