Horhut Tree Experts came to our house and pruned, trimmed, thinned out, and expertly cared for our 2 large maple trees this past year. Pleased that the arborist were wearing protective mask when I talked with them prior to starting the project. We reviewed the work to be done and I left it to the professionals as to what needed to be removed from these two large mature trees. I left for work and when I got home other than the trees looking wonderful you would have never known that they were there. The clean up was impeccable. So now that spring has arrived this year these two trees look wonderful and so much happier. They are shaped beautifully and are so much fuller. Thank you again for your expert and professional work. I scheduled an appointment with Jaime and she did arrive at that time, which I was so happy about. We then scheduled work to be done the end of the fall season. Shortly after that, I had a tree fall during a storm. Again I called Jaime and within less than a week they arrived to remove my dead tree. They of course went on to trim and thin everything in my backyard. It looks great! I've had compliments from neighbors. I called Horhut and received a return call a few day later. We scheduled an appointment for later in the week. When the day and time came, nobody showed up and I received no call . 4 hours after the scheduled time, the owner showed up with his entire family in tow. It was odd. We walked the property and went over my requirements. He said he would get back to me with a quote at the ginning of the following week. It's been 3 weeks and I've not heard a thing from them. I understand being a busy small business, but I expect the courtesy of a call back to tell me they are going to no quote. They may do great work but my experience was poor. My family and I had an enormous American Elm fall during a windstorm. The massive tree crossed our yard, blocked our driveway, and damaged our neighbor's house. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. I called Dan and he was out within 30 minutes to assess the damage. He returned the next morning with his professional and expert crew to remove the fallen tree. We had Horhut come out to trim a pretty massive tree and to remove a bunch of trees that were serving no purpose. It did take the owner a bit to get back to us with a quote, but that was likely during his busier season, so I understand. Once we settled on a price and date (he recommended that we wait for the leaves to fall so that the tree could be trimmed adequately), it was smooth sailing! The owner is clearly educated and knowledgeable on trees, etc. The crew showed up exactly when they were supposed to, tackled all of the right trees, and left no trace of them being there (aside from some stumps). They were friendly and obviously knew what they were doing. They were very careful with the limbs they removed. My only complaint was that it was hard to nap while they were there with the saws running! read more

If I could give this less than one star I would. Called to schedule an appointment for an estimate and was told I had to wait 2 weeks. I waited the 2 weeks and they did come out the day they said they would. I was told I would be emailed an estimate. After a week I called and left a message and said I had not received it. I did get an email after that. Then the real problems started. I have called almost DAILY for WEEKS and left messages and also emailed. They NEVER ANSWERED the phone or bothered to call back! At this point I keep calling every day just for fun to see if I ever will get a call back. WHY have a business if you blow customers off and don't even have the decency to call them back? Is every tree guy in Pittsburgh THAT rich that they don't have to work? Just boggles my mind. And this isn't the first tree service around here that's done that. I even TOLD the guy how the previous person I had come out, do the same thing to me. This man shook his head when I told him, yet he did the same thing?! Steve and Company did a great job completely removing 5 huge Silver Maples and trimming a large portion of another. Five of the trees were very close to the house. I had them grind the stumps of four of the trees which they did very well. The crew went above and beyond what I expected and cleaned the site well at the end of each work day. They even replaced our dog fence every night so we could continue to let our dogs out back. read more
