After a 50' spruce crashed down into my yard during a recent windstorm, nearly taking out a lovely weeping willow, I got 7 estimates from local tree services. The highest estimate was $3,500, and 3 of the 7 came in at around $1,600. Jungle Jim's bid was $800, nearly 3/4 lower than the highest bid, and only 1/2 of what most wanted for the job! When the weeping willow survived and only need to have dead limbs ,rather than stump, removed, Jim lowered the price to $700. The crew was courteous, hard-work, skilled and did a great job of clean up. Kudos to Jungle Jim's! You may have to wait, as they're busy and popular, but Jungle Jim's is worth waiting for. Call jungle Jim's for a quote on removing 3 very large pine tree's, a large locus all 3 to 4 feet in diameter 75 feet or higher. Also a couple locus groups about 25 feet high and a few other trees 15 to 25 feet tall. He showed up right on time and gave me a very good quote. When getting a service like this I normally get a few quotes, Jim's was in the middle and I like what he said they would do and the time it would take to do the job. I excepted his bid and told him as soon as I owned the property I would let him know the job could be done. I called and within two weeks from telling him it was ok to do the job, he was out there. He and his crew were very professional and very courteous. Job was done in one day as stated and clean up was great. No debris present great job at clean up. I have used Jungle Jim's numerous times and referred him out to a few friends. As always his crew shows up, does the job and you never know they are there. They just trimmed back a tree in my front yard and him and his crew were fantastic!! My neighbor had a pine tree cut down and he could not brag enough about how his crew conducted business. Sooooo...we need some shrubbery removed from our front landscaping, I got three estimates- The least expensive being from Jungle Jim on Sept 1st... I called within a week to schedule the appointment and was told that I needed to be delayed until the end of October because he was also going to evaluate a giant tree in our backyard and he wanted to do it when there were no leaves on the tree... I called yesterday to set the appointment up, a reply message on my vm stated very rudely that our job was "too small to schedule and they only make appointments for thousands of dollars of work" I was expected to simply wait by the phone on a daily basis for their phone call to say that they would be over in 30 minutes to do the work and if I couldn't accept them that day then they went on to the next person When I called back and left a message, I expressed how rude and diminishing the refusal to schedule an actual appointment was, that if my $250 job was not worth their time I would give my money to someone else... I have never in my life had someone conduct business in this way! We had gotten several quotes to remove some large overgrown yews, and a few small trees. Jungle Jims is the only place that offered to give us a few options so we could choose how much/what to get done (removal only vs. adding stump grinding). They also did not try to tack on or upsell additional services like most other places. They contacted us really quickly after initiating to ask for a quote. The price was very affordable. Owner was very nice and pleasant to work with. You cannot beat the price. They did a good job. We had a small job, so they didn't put us on a set date schedule. When I called to schedule, I was told that they are in my area pretty frequently, and since it was a small job that wouldn't take long, they would fit me in between other larger jobs in the area and would give a call to confirm. True to their word, I got a call less than week after requesting their services to come in that they were able to come through that day and to verify it was okay to proceed. Much quicker than anticipated which was great. Came home and they cleared everything we asked for, didn't damage anything that was near by, and cleaned up everything really well. I sought many estimates recently for the removal of a very large red oak tree right in front of my house and several large pines and selected Jungle Jim based on referrals and mainly on price. Tree guys are very lousy about returning phone calls and Jims secretary communicated with me quickly, securing me an estimate almost 2k lower than other companies. The work was completed two weeks ahead of schedule and his crew did an excellent job cleaning as they went and causing little disruption to the neighborhood during the process, even with all the lumber trucks and bobcats etc. I am already planning to have them cut more trees in the back. read more

They came to remove 4 trees behind my house. They annihilated several of my perennials. Stomped over them like as if they werent there. We contacted this company in March of 2017 to have our stump removed. During the phone call in March we were told that they would honor the price they gave us at the end of last summer. They told us they would put us on the list and in fact would have someone come out the next week. I contacted Kathi today and she indicated she never heard of us or had a record that they were to remove the stump in our yard. She also became very rude and said there is no way anyone would have told us that someone would be coming out the next week (essentially calling my husband and I liars!) I wanted to remove two very large red oak trees and one giant maple right in front of my house I selected Jungle Jim based on a referral and on price. Jim's secretary called me back very quickly, Jim came and gave me an estimate almost $1500.00 lower than other companies. I couldn't get the trees done for almost two years later and guess what they honored the quote they gave me that was almost 2 year old. They came, removed the trees and I added additional trees and they clear them all. CLEANED UP after themselves and was concerned about the neighbors' car and property. We contacted this company for an estimate over two months ago and decided to give them the job. Since then, Jungle Jims Tree Service put us off, leaving it up to us to call them and ask when they had scheduled the job. In the past week, we have called three times, with their response being, "Oh, I guess it's good that you called. I can't tell you when you'll be on the schedule." Today, we received a voicemail that they could not complete our service because of an "injury of one of the workers." It seemed like they never wanted to take our job in the first place, but why wouldn't they say so? I had 25 or so trees taken down by Jungle Jims along with brush clearing and stump removal of probably 40+ stumps. The price was very fair as I had a few estimates for comparison. I am very satisfied with the job and would definitely recommend them. After scheduling a job for Monday on Sunday, Kathy called us after 9pm to cancel the job for the next day citing that they only do jobs over $1000 during the day, they'd have to get to us later in the week and that they had an emergency job that took precedence. (My job consisted of an unstable tree that could finish its fall on my shed and fence at any moment). Not only did they fail to call me to reschedule the job within the next 10 days, but since I had already found someone who considered my money and work for them a priority and who would provide the "prompt" service that Jungle Jim's gaurantees, Kathy said "thanks for telling us. Don't ever call us again" and hung up on me. I won't be calling them ever again, you shouldn't either. read more
