I have used Tall Timber every other year to trim my cherry tree in the front of my house and the pear tree in the back of my house. They are a group of fantastic people. Came out this morning. Office Staff. Truly the "face" of the company. Could do way better than what they have answering the phone. Wow. This was my very first time talking to a tree removal business with Arborists. The person answering the phone is not creating a welcoming feeling. She speaks is such a condescending tone. I was sorry that I called and bothered her at her job (sarcasm) She spoke very fast without any emotion and seemed so annoyed when I asked questions. She didn't even let me finish my reason for calling when she barked at me " Address., Name. " She made me feel as if she was way to busy to deal with a customer. (the reason she has this job) Then when I mentioned that I wanted them to answer a couple questions about some ornamentals, she replied "that will have to be a seperate appointment" I asked why I had to have a second appointment for just some questions. She did not reply. I just wanted to get off the phone. UGH. I have not received a call back regarding any quote appointment, etc. I will not use this company or recommend them. They should rethink how they allow office staff to speak to customers. I am sure I am not the only one that has experienced the attitude. read more

I would highly recommend this company as they just removed a 60' partially uprooted tree that would have taken out my neighbors tree and our power lines. Services done: remove a large Pine tree and fir that were too close to our house, and trim a big leader branch going over our roof. Tall Timber tree service is EFFICIENT, wow. When we finally got scheduled, they arrived at 8 am to start removing 2 trees and trimming another. I left for work at 11 and they were almost done! They have some pretty serious equipment in terms of cranes, cherry pickers, etc. so they can work a lot quicker than I expected. They left the yard clean and smelling like fresh pine. The negatives to our service were promptness - it took 3 weeks to a month at least from quote to the actual service, but this may have been due to our winter weather here. It's not a major complaint. I would use their services again or recommend them to others. read more

After over 10 years of only using this person many expensive tree services, I called to have limbs removed after a storm. It was not an emergency and I said I could wait. No call. I then called two more times to have the limbs removed and schedule my yearly tree servicing. I did not receive a call back either times. I even tried sending an email, nothing. I even asked what the problem might be. I am disappointed, beyond belief, that Mr. Laird could not even return my calls to tell me what the issue is. We had a couple of trees trimmed by Tall Timber. The work was completed when we were out of town. Upon our return we called immediately to let them know that one branch that needed to be cut off was left. The person I spoke to said that he felt the tree looked better with the branch on the tree. He refused to come back and remove the branch unless We would pay him more money. We even offered to discard the branch if he would just cut it. It literally would have taken him 2 minutes. Again, he refused. We contacted the main office for help but never got a response. We are disappointed in this company. we will not use them again. read more

We just had Tall Timber remove a silver maple tree from our front yard. The crew did an excellent job. Bucket trucks with cranes were able to come in above the wires which was something we'd been concerned about. The clean-up was excellent. You couldn't tell anything had happened except that the tree was gone! I'd requested they leave about two feet of stump for a garden project and they took great care to make it level. In case we want it removed and ground at a later time Jim gave us an estimate for that and said to just let them know when we wanted it done. We'd gotten an estimate for the whole job about three weeks ago and Jim worked around our holiday vacation schedule to accommodate us. Their estimate was in the middle of the three we got and we felt it was very reasonable. We would highly recommend them to others and would be happy to use them for a future project. P. Contacted tall timber 5 weeks ago. They came out and gave a reasonable estimate. They indicated they would be out the following week. They never came. I than contacted them after 2 weeks via email, and they indicated that they would be coming out, but they never came. Just want to put out a big kudos to Jim at Tall Timber. My parents had a very big, diseased with a splitting trunk, 60yr old maple (so pretty dangerous) overhanging the house in the back , and huge maple in the front. His crew came with 6 guys, 4 trucks, a remote chainsaw robot arm, stump grinder. Took care of the whole project in 2 hrs. Very reasonable prices. Crew needed no guidance at all, each knew what they were doing. They even fixed the gutter that was 3 stories up that was broke for years :) Can't speak any better of the company and crew! read more

These guys are good at what they do! Removed a 100 ft tall mulberry tree, wedged between a shed and a litigious neighbors fence. No damage, no surprises. They arrived on time, explained what they would, then did it quickly and efficiently. Answered all my questions, even laughed at all my dumb wood chipper jokes. Highly recommend!! They are very skilled, professional & experienced with the best competitive rates. We had a huge dead tree that was over our garage & house. I got 7 different tree company quotes to cut it down & half of them actually turned the job down due to the risk & skill level required to do it. One of those companies even recommended hiring Tall Timber Tree themselves based on their great reputation/skill level in the local industry. It's a Saturday, and we had a tree fall on our 2 cars and shed around 7:30am. Calling around, I couldn't find anyone who picked up their phone. On Tall Timber Tree Experts' voicemail, they had a number listed for emergencies. I called that number, and they were at my home in less than 30 minutes! He was on his was out the door for plans he had for the day, but didn't hesitate coming over right away. He removed the tree from the cars and shed, and even cleaned up before he left. They are coming back on Monday to take down the rest of the tree. I am so happy I found them on Yelp...their 5 Star rating is well deserved. What a piece of crap. Called needing service from ice storm.Scheduled appointment and they never showed up. Called several times and asked please call me back on message. Never even returned calls.Had trouble with this guy previously when I called him on a cell number listed and he started screaming at me because I called on this cell. Nut case. There is other more professional companies out there. I used someone else with no problem. You get what you pay for. read more
