Great spot! - two level bar, we chose to sit on the top level... because I mean, obviously. Great place to watch a game, not a great place if you are in a hurry. They have a huge selection of beers and several food options so it does take some time to get food and drinks. Simply order a little faster than your appetite, and plan on spending a full half of a game or a few innings depending on your choses sport. They were Maybe the best tacos I've ever had. My group started outside in the tent and later went up to the top floor where it is open for bar service to vaccinated people. I've been here a couple times when friends have drug me. They love it, but I think the food and drinks could be better. The environment is great though. One time when I went here for brunch I had the breakfast tacos which were dry and lacked flavor and i had a bloody Maria followed by a margarita and the margarita (after I finished my tacos because I'm not a psycho) was soooooo strong. The next time I came back for brunch the bloody Maria was still good and I ordered the avocado toast with the portabella mushrooms added on and it had a good flavor. However, there was a gang of mixed greens with the toast which wasn't bad I just wasn't expecting it and didn't end up eating it all. Service was average. Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad at all which is nice sometimes because you don't always want somebody in your face at a place like this. Overall, it's a solid place if you live in the area or the reason you are going in is low stakes. Hopsmith Tavern has been on my list of must-tries since they took home the big prize at Yelp's Burger Fest a few months ago. I finally got the chance to try their actual location recently and have to say I like what we ate. On Wednesdays, they have a $2 sliders deal (min order of 3) which was perfect for my friend and I. We each ordered three and mistakenly ordered two orders of their truffle tots ($6 each). The food took a while to come out so make sure you aren't super hungry when you arrive. We each got a Bacon Cheeseburger, BBQ Brisket, and B & Other Letters sliders. Hands down the BEST one was the BBQ Brisket, which made me fall in love and vote for them back at the Yelp event. Their sliders were delicious and filling despite its size. As for the tots, one order between the two of us was definitely enough. Sadly, they weren't as great as I was hoping they'd be, but they still make for a great side. Inside, the atmosphere is very much like a sports bar, so it may be hard to have a deep conversation with somebody. But if you're looking for a good spot to catch the game while enjoying some amazing sliders, this is the place to be. read more

I came here with a couple friends on a Wednesday night for some drinks and light bites. We were seated immediately, and our orders were taken quickly. I really enjoyed the service here. Great two level bar with good daily specials and a vast beer list. Living just around the corner i frequent this bar often. I can say I've never had a bad experience here I've always had great service. The food is great I often come just for the daily food specials. Always cooked to order, hot, fresh and served in a timely manner which can be hit or miss for a bar. They're always hosting events or running promotions if you follow them on social media there's generally never a week that goes by that they aren't having an event most of which are free to attend. (Ex. Bingo, chili cook off, trivia, beer promotion giveaways) The main level of the bar can get pretty crowded and generally the music volume is blasting making it hard to hear anyone unless you're yelling. For that reason I try to hang out in the upstairs bar which is more chill. Would also be a good choice for groups they have table set ups that can accommodate larger numbers of groups. Pretty much anything you're looking for from a bar is right here, unless you're looking for beer pong and expensive bud light then you'll have to go across the street to Shenannigans. read more

However, the manager Matthew Chew stopped by our table to ask why we were in town. We explained the birthday celebration. He said he was going to "make our night!!" And he really did!! My friend suggested Hopsmith when we were looking for a bar that had great happy hour deals. She really hooked me with the fact that Hopsmith has different deals every single day, all day. This particular day was a Monday and they had $5 fat pours (larger than large-sized pours of any draft beer on their menu) and $5 classic burgers. An entire meal for $10 in the Gold Coast? Why don't I LIVE at Hopsmith??? From the outside it looked just like any old sports bar: I could see some TVs, some tables, and the weather was nice, so the front windows were open. But when I was inside I noticed Hopsmith has its own little charms: There's a pink neon sign to the left when you enter that reads "yes," there's a photo booth in the back, and the lighting is dark and charmingly ominous. Our server was named Hannah and she was really upbeat. She brought everything out on time, and was attentive without being overbearing, which is my favorite sort of waitress! Shout out to Hannah! :) I ordered a raspberry lime beer, which was right up my alley. As for food, my burger came with fries, which was very surprising because a lot of times when there's a burger deal at such a good price, all of the extras come at a cost. The fries were some of the best I've ever had, and my friend got truffle tater tots as a substitute for her fries. The truffle tots were exquisite. I don't think I've ever typed the word "exquisite" before. I am really glad that my friend suggested this place because from the outside I don't think I would've chosen this place on a whim. Absolutely do not go here. The bouncer working 3/16 physically put his hands on me and pushed me out of the door without using words to communicate whatsoever. As he came at me, the first thing I said was "please don't touch me" because I saw his aggressive energy coming at me, and he ignored me and grabbed me by the hips. Good neighborhood sports bar with huge beer list and great daily specials. The $5 burger deal (including fries) on Monday's is fantastic. The upstairs bar is a good spot to watch games. The place gets packed on weekends, but it's one of the best late night spots in the neighborhood. The burgers and wraps are good, and the portions are large. This way you dont have to keep ordering more beer. Drinking these ginormous AF ( i try to keep it clean here) beer in these glasses affords you more than a taste. Almost 10mins after I wrote my review a nice young named Blanka came to talk to me. Unfortunately she did nothing to actually make my experience better. She said the DJ yakes requests. A few of us made request but he didn't have sny of the songs we asked for. He did play something similar but would immediately go back to his horrible playlist. The bar/late night seen is enjoyable if you are okay with large, younger crowds. If you are looking for a place that has an older crowd or is more laid back I recommend Tavern on Rush, Gibson's, and Hugo's. read more

Just thought i'd share a story from a New year's Eve a few years back: We rented a table for the evening with friends and had a great time, bottle service was included and the atmosphere was great. However, a couple of finance douchebags sitting at the table next to us decided to grab my wife's ass as she was walking by. I didn't want to start a potential bar fight so we told the bartenders/manager about the incident. I was hoping this wouldve been taken seriously but instead they told us they were just going to warn them. I saw no warning, no action taken at all, most likely because this is another bar owned by the 'boy's club'. This was in 2015/2016, if this happened now it wouldve been treated very differently (i hope), but judging from when I went back a few weeks ago I don't think it would have. Assault shouldn't be taken lightly, and you shouldn't give your money to bars that dont. read more

This bar has an incredibly unprofessional staff. Not only did they physically hit customers with chairs and tables as they moved them to different parts of the bar, they also physically grabbed a female customer by the neck with no provocation. They were incredibly rude and it felt very unsafe, especially as a female. The managers watched as this all happened. read more

I went here during the dog days of summer, the last throes of the best season, the pinnacle month of bad decisions, August. It was a great choice. I went to celebrate some friends new move to the city and it was phenomenal. I spent the majority of the time on the main floor, which was more pub like, but still enjoyable. The dance floor, bar and all other additional spaces were packed! Everyone was pretty friendly, and drunk, which was fun. The music was eclectic, with songs from the early 2000s to current pop, rap and hip-hop, along with some oldies thrown in. I also took to the stairway to Heaven to the rooftop bar. I think it was a rooftop anyway. It was enclosed, but i felt a strong, cool breeze blowing. Anyway, the atmosphere up there was also extremely enjoyable and I admired the set-up of booths in the middle of the room. It was slightly difficult to maneuver. The drinks were pretty good across the board. There was very little variation between the different stations throughout the bar. It's also the designated Michigan State bar, so I'm sure it's fun during College Football Saturdays. read more

Came here to watch the Cavs game on a Saturday. We were seated in a booth right in front of a TV, which was perfect until we realized that a few tables over was a party of 5 screaming drunk girls. I guess this isn't that out of an ordinary for a popular sports bar (even tho it was only 7PM). I ordered the tequila rose cocktail ($11) which was decent, but on the weaker side. It took a while for my boyfriend to pick a drink, since they were out of a lot of the drafts that he wanted, so he settled for a chocolate stout from a bottle. My bf also ordered the foot long grilled cheese ($12) and was disappointed to find out it was definitely not a foot long. It sandwich itself was okay, nothing to write home about. I ordered the Southern Salad ($14) which came on a giant portion size and was fantastic. The pickled onions were a great addition to the salad, and it was big enough to split into two meals. We also got the dessert special, was was apple pie a la mode for $5. This was also a good portion size and the perfect way to end the meal! read more

I had a really good brunch here last week. I went around 1:30 and the place was nearly empty. I tried their sliders (a medley of the pulled pork, regular burger, and a buffalo chicken- all delicious) and a strawberry margarita. The food and setting was delicious, and the open air dining was really refreshing. My only complaint was the persistence of the staff to try to sell the parent company's dining card - some sort of membership. It got a bit annoying and isn't something I really want to be interrupted while eating to discuss with the waiter. If anything, put an info card in with my check. After a night out with my adult siblings and our significant others to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday we ended the night here. My sister was over charged and experienced very rude female bartenders (on two different occasions) when questioning the charge. When I talked to the manager, they confirmed she was over charged and did refund the cost. Watch out if you go late at night and might seem like you're from out of town. Or make it easy on yourself and go to another bar around that area (we went to multiple and had no issues like this) The only reason this place gets any stars is because of how the managers fixed the situation and how apologetic they were. read more

Recently there have been multiple times when bartenders have been inflating their tips. I have now had to report these instances to my credit card company three times. For example, you tip $4.00 and they change it to a $14.00 tip so you're being overcharged an extra $10. This happens at night and I suspect they think everyone is drunk and won't notice. Highly recommend keeping your receipts and a record of it. Have not experienced this with normal waitstaff during the day. Just the upstairs bartenders. read more
