Food was great and portions were large! Had the lasagna and meatloaf both were very good.

Hops was recommended by our Airbnb owner and we decided to check it out. Nice little place in downtown Kalispell! We had a party of 4 and had to wait about 25 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. We had been hiking all day and we were starving. Order appetizers (the poutine was fabulous) and dinner. Yak burger was sweet and with the heat they put on it made it delicious. The others ordered burgers and ate every bite. I ordered the elk lasagna at the recommendation of the server and can honestly say it was perfect. Perfect amount of cheese and sauce with no gamey taste. We would highly recommend you stopping in if you're in the area! read more

Food is outstanding and unique. Service is excellent. Atmosphere of down home locals that add to the experience.

We had a beautiful meal after a long 5 day backpacking trip. They took care of a party of 7 with varying tastes and everyone was happy. They adjusted our party size and made it happen. Stellar service all around and worth the meal after hike restaurant. Thank you! read more

If you're hungry and wanting a good meal, I can enthusiastically recommend the food! The yakburger is enormous and I recommend it to those who simply want a big burger and want it in a sit-down sandwich setting. The meal comes with kettle-fried potato chips or a dinner salad. Service here is spot-on excellent. read more

Michelle was an amazing server...very kind and helpful...she had the biggest smile and she made me feel very at home

It was quite nice. We were walk ins -- I was surprised to see the place packed at 5pm on a Monday. Overall, good food and good service. The duck lugs were amazing, although my trout was a little over cooked and dry. The ambience and service made up for the food. read more

Wife and I popped in for dinner recently and very glad we did. Service was friendly and pro as was the atmosphere. Limited draft beer options but what they had was well selected and tasty. Then comes the highlight ... the food !! I got the smokehouse burger with poutine fries and wife got the elk lasagna. Both were home runs :) We are looking forward to our next visit! Gotta try the the chicken fried steak. Highly recommended read more

The chef at Hops really knows how to cook. Everything we had was above average. The atmosphere was inviting with excellent staff. Try the huckleberry beer too. I highly recommend trying this place. read more

Huge fan of this spot! Went here for a few glasses of wine and some apps, ending with two bottles and staying for two hours! Absolutely great spot. The duck wings are incredible and so are the burgers. We can't wait to go back and try more. Thanks to Tim and Jordan for a great time! read more

This place was recommended by so many people and it didn't disappoint! Started with a few apps, ordered the bison tacos as an app and the fries that had gravy all over them. Both were amazing. Also shared the caprese salad which was served with greens, big salad I had the evening special NewYork Steak.. it was presented well, taste was great, however the steak was literally about 1/3 inch thick which was unusual to me. Still tasted amazing though. Staff was excellent! read more

This place is amazing. My family and I stumbled upon this gem while walking the streets of Kalispell looking for a place to grab dinner. The staff was nothing short of amazing(they are all busting their asses) and the food was phenomenal. The chef definitely knows what they're doing. The icing on the cake is that we did a flight of all of the beers and 7 of the 8 we would have had full pints of had we planned to get smackers. Can't recommend this place enough. It was so good we came back the next night before leaving Kalispell. First night, we had the calamari appetizer and sidewinder fries. For entrees we had smoked trout and elk bolognese, Cesar salad with anchovies(love that it's available as an option) and a soup of the day which was a cream of mushroom type soup. Second night, we had the soup of the day again, a parmesan poblano, fried chicken and the salmon and beet salad. EVERYTHING was amazing. read more

Treat you like family. Food is DELICIOUS. Specials are top rate. Great beverage options. Intimate atmosphere.

Simply outstanding! They have reinvented staple meals and upgraded not so common items! The juiciest garlic chicken, to the lightest fried chicken, to the hunters trio consisting of a bison, an elk and a yak slider ( I enjoy trying new things) this place did not disappoint! With a large side of mashed with gravy or the fries, our group simultaneously said mmmmm to every bite! Amy was our server and she was fantastic! We also shared an appetizer of elk brats with a homemade Bavarian pretzel and then salads with homemade dressing, all of it delicious. If you come to Kalispell, this is the restaurant! And as a kicker, the specialize in locally grown ingredients! Honestly, don't miss it! read more

This place was amazing. Delicious food and great wine and service! We even ate there again.

Very crowded spot for dinner with limited sitting. Make sure you arrive early to guarantee a spot for yourself. Good quick dinner type of place in the downtown read more

Okay restaurant in downtown Kalispell. I expected more based off of the outstanding Yelp reviews. I probably won't be back. We walked in and were seated right away which was nice. I ordered the Mission Mountain Elk Burger and a side salad, while my friend ordered the Salmon. Her salmon looked perfectly cooked and she loved the sauce that came with the dish. My elk burger was just decent, with the salad being pretty good and standard. It was my first time having elk, but it seemed that the meat was on the drier side. The fries and stuff in the burger was good though. The service itself was good too. Maybe borderline a bit too attentive as we had other servers offering us items in addition to our main server throughout the night. For example, asking if we wanted more drinks after we had just ordered another round of wine. If you are wary of COVID-19, this isn't the place for you. I recommend ordering for takeout instead as the venue doesn't allow for good social distancing; kind of cramped. Our server also didn't wear a mask, just a face shield. Just worth noting for those who are covid-19 cautious. read more

Seriously the best burger I've ever had, and that's saying a lot (I ordered the huckleberry/goat cheese burger with a bison Patty, instead of beef). It was absolutely delicious. We decided on this restaurant because it had great reviews, but reviews aren't always reliable. The service was great, and the food was even better. I'll definitely return every time I come to town. read more

Excellent Burgers! Amazing fries. Cole Slaw with a yummy spicy kick! Delicious beer & wine selection. No liquor ~ Beer & Wine only. Buffalo & Kobe beef both delicious... I think the Buffalo is the better choice...they are much thicker burgers than then Kobe Beef burgers. Cooked medium rare for perfection. read more

This place is bomb.com!! I grew up in rural Illinois. If you're from anywhere small-town-America... there's that one "nice restaurant" everyone went to for homecoming or prom... In downtown Kalispell. This place ROCKS. Excellent food! read more

Went in thinking it was a basic brewpub. Sometimes it's nice to be wrong. Much more upscale than I expected. I have the trout coked in a parchment bag with broccoli & rice pilaf. The trout was excellent. Cooked perfectly it was very tasty. The rice pilaf was also cooked correctly, rice was neither dry nor soggy. My wife had the Prime rib. Her rime rib was cooked medium as she asked. The garlic mashed potatoes were also good. Definitely would recommend dinner here. read more

Not overly impressed after such good reviews. It was really crowded and close quarters to other tables. The food was subpar. I had an elk burger that was hard as a rock and my boyfriend had the bison steak that was meh. The poutine was alright, but the best part was the shape of the fries. We weren't thrilled by any means. I'm sure there are better places nearby. read more

A local favorite amongst locals and visitors. They do not take reservations and we came early at 5:30pm. Doors open at 5pm and guess what - it was packed and we waited a few minutes for a table to open up. I can see why this is a favorite... The best food in town, gourmet touches with an innovative menu. As you walk in the restaurant, you are in the dining area and the bar is parallel to the dining area. packed! We only waited 2 minutes to get a great table next to the window and wall, a little privacy. Lots of energy and all tables were close together thou you did not feel invaded. It's intimate. We ordered lots of food that were seafood based. Crabs, salmon, trout and salads. Everything we ate was fit for a king, the details, the pres station, the flavors, wow! We sat next to a women whose a flight attendant dining by herself and comes here to dine often when she's in the area. We had no room for dessert, thou went home with filled stomached and big grins in our face. This place is a gem. We heard about it from a pharma rep. You cannot go wrong with any item on this menu. Our cabin was located in the middle of the woods and would lptake us about 30-40 minute drive to civilization and during our vacation here we got to attend the Kallispell fair which was fun and a reflection of the culture. We loved it! Yes. I would return to this restaurant and can see myself eating here almost every night. P.s. Everything is fresh and local Made with organic love. read more

I am so glad we tried this place. Service is exceptional! We were here to try a variety of food with wine. Our server really knew her wine which doesn't happen very often. Social distancing and mask were in place. I loved the Yak burger! We also enjoyed the Bison and Elk burger from the Hunters Trio. Wasn't a big fan of the Elk sausage. Maybe if it was served differently . We both enjoy our duck wings. We requested some Huckleberry sauce which we both thought they should serve it with as it really enhanced the flavor the the wings . read more

I don't give a lot of negative reviews. This is for the horrible front of the house. Called to make 7pm reservations for my dad's birthday for 6 people. Their response, we'll fit you in. We arrived, they tell us they don't take reservations, it will be 20 mins, we are first on the wait list and they will text us when our table is ready. I was a little annoyed, if you don't take reservations, you should have told me on the phone. We waited for 30 mins. I go inside to get an ETA, hostess says maybe 25-30 mins. Um, you said 20 mins a half hour ago! There was an empty table for 4 and table for 2 right next to each other. I asked if they could push them together (what most normal restaurants do) and make it a table of 6. They say "no" and proceed to seat four other parties that arrived after us. Why tell us we are on the top of the wait list when we clearly are not! 1 hour goes by and still no text (btw, we never got a text) that our table is ready. Everyone in our group decided we would take our business elsewhere. We had a lovely dinner down the street. The front of the house is incompetent, has zero common sense, and could care less about their customers. Clearly they only care about making a buck by giving people false reservations, false wait times, and false information where people are on the wait list. If you are over sold for the night, just tell your customer that. Don't make your customer wait around for an hour and ignore them because you know you can't seat them. I will tell all my MT friends to never go to this thoughtless place. read more

This place is excellent! Gourmet burgers! And their chef always has interesting things to try. In the early summer he made a burger with fresh, wild morel mushrooms and huckleberries. We love the yak burger. The restaurant is very small, so you may have to wait for a seat. But it's highly worth it. read more

East to see why this is rated #1 in the area. Large selection of food to select from including elk and home style favorites like meatloaf. Everyone in our party of seven was pleased with their food selections. Our server was great and it's a shame I forgot her name because she deserves a shout out. Very clean snd you can't beat the ambiance of this small place. Highly recommended! read more

This was our first visit and it was absolutely outstanding! We started with the calamari fritti, the description of which was accurate: "lightly breaded & fried calamari steak." The pieces were thick and tasty. With or without the tangy wasabi cocktail sauce, each bite was delightful. For the main course, I had the salmon and my wife had the bison sirloin. Each was expertly prepared and simply wonderful. (We each had a bite of the other's.) Rice and vegetables accompanied my salmon while my wife had plank fries and vegetables. The sides nicely complemented the main course. For dessert, a light Italian lemon creme was the perfect ending to a great meal. The decor was warm and inviting, dressed up, but not overdone for the coming Christmas season. The service was excellent and perfectly timed such that we never waited long for anything, but never felt rushed. The people were friendly, chatting with us on and off, and also quick and efficient. We had a wonderful evening and we'll definitely be back. read more

Stopped here on our vacation to Glacier National Park. I had looked on yelp and found this restaurant and made sure before leaving we went! I ordered the yak burger which I thought was great! Good flavor and the toppings were a tad spicy which was perfect. My hubby ordered the bison burger and said it was good. My teenage sons ordered the elk and yak burgers. I was told the elk burger, even though ordered medium well, had a burned exterior. The only thing I would change in my visit would be to order fries! ;) the chips that came with the burgers were good, though. Would I come again? If visiting - yes! And now I want to find yak in San Antonio. read more

Doesn't look like much but you are in for a treat. I don't seldom go to the same restaurant twice in one trip. I went twice the food was so good. We come here every year when in town. My kids get the chicken fried steak which they talk about the rest of the year until we come back. I ordered the trout this time which was excellent. Food is always delicious service is great and the environment is pleasing. Bison Burger is delicious as are the Fish Tacos

I'm giving this place a 3, because it was oversold by Yelp. The menu, and the photos are slightly misleading. This is a burger joint. Not much more... I ordered the Cheeseburger Paradise, and it was decent... I didn't think I'd ever say this, but it was almost too much cheese. I needed a bath after I ate this burger. The burger was decent, but nothing "extra special". I like this place because it's open until 10pm, the staff is friendly, and they take credit cards. Don't expect your socks to get knocked off, but expect to know where your money went when the tab comes... read more

Second time here. Amazing poutine is a must try. Burgers are super juicy. Give them a shot when your in Kalispell

This is a nice little place inside and out, just keep your eyes peeled when trying to find it. The staff was polite and friendly. I had fish N chips which was delicious, my wife got chicken fried steak which we neither one cared for ( it was pretty chewy and not completely cooked through). The staff deserves 5 stars read more

Well, where to start. We were in town for my boyfriend's birthday, and decided to check out Hops. We walked in at about 8:15pm and the smell was amazing. We were told there was a wait but we could wait at the bar and have a drink so that's exactly what we did. 30 minutes later I asked about our table, as I had seen other people seated who had come in after us. The girl who had told us to wait at the bar said "I'm so sorry, I forgot". Fast forward 5 minutes and the manager comes up to us to explain that there is a 30 minute waitlist but we could order and eat at the bar. I explained that we had already waited 30 minutes and the manager basically said "well that's too bad". So, being that it was now 8:45 at least, we ordered - a bison burger and elk bolognese. While waiting the 30 minutes for our food, I noticed three empty tables. But that's neither here nor there at this point. Our food came - the elk bolognese was delicious. The bison burger was well done when my boyfriend requested medium rare. The one good in all of this was our waitress at the bar. Our bill says her name is Sabina. She was very accommodating and apologetic and her service was great. The manager and others, however, make me say don't bother coming here. read more

Best burgers in Kalispell? We decided to have dinner at this downtown restaurant to find out! We came here around 7:45 on a Saturday night and it was packed. It's not a huge place - a little on the narrow side. There is bar seating and a bunch of tables. We walked in but weren't acknowledged for five minutes, which I guess is understandable given how busy they were but felt awkward since there isn't a good waiting area and we stood right by the entrance. Eventually the hostess greeted us and said it would be about five minutes for a table to get cleaned up. Our first server was a super nice lady who told us about the specials and also answered our question about popular dishes. We knew we wanted to try the burgers but other things on the menu sounded good too! They offer specialty grass fed burgers that sound amazing like the yak burger, the highland beef burger, and the buffalo burger. These are all from local farms. The boar burger sounded really good too but that meat was from "out of town" in Texas and I wanted to try something local. Our server recommended the yak burger, which came with Tibetan BBQ sauce, ginger and grilled onion. I have never seen yak burgers on a menu before in the US. And our server said that the yak came from like 10 miles away from a local farm. It sounded perfect so we ordered that and also the local elk bratwurst appetizer to share. The burgers come with your choice of potato chips or cole slaw. The food took a while to come out but I think it's because we asked for everything to come out at once. The food looked great when it came out - props for the presentation! The yak burger was really tasty! The meat is really lean but not too dry. The ginger flavor and the BBQ sauce was good too. The elk bratwurst was delicious and the favorite of the night. The meat was delicious and the soft pretzel it came with was yummy too. Service was excellent - our other server came by often to check on us and refill our water and was super courteous. The food was really tasty. I would totally come back for the elk bratwurst alone! read more
