I've made multiple complaints about the condition of the job site to the workers onsite as well as emails and phone calls to their office. There are nails, staples, broken glass, trash, debris and materials LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. Everyday I have to clean nails and staples off my patio and from my back yard just so I can let my dog out. Yesterday I got a flat tire IN THE PARKING LOT. Now I'm trying to get them to pay for it and they are refusing to even call me back. I was told my HOA is liable. My HOA gave me their direct contact information because "they don't know what else to do, we keep forwarding resident complaints to them and they are doing nothing" While I feel they need to pay for a new tire I'm more concerned about keeping the site clean so none of the residents or their pets are harmed and no one else has to deal with a flat tire on a Tuesday night after working 12 hrs.

We hired GLR Kitchen and Bath remodeling to do two full bathroom remodels, our guest bathroom, and…read moreour master bathroom, install a vanity area in our bedroom, and install some windows. We signed a contract for about $45,000 worth of work in December 2021 and work didn't start until May 2022. They started a week early and went over deadline about 3 weeks. There were days people didn't even show up. They pushed and pushed for full payment on a job that was not even close to being finished and when we refused to give them the final payment until the job was completed, with lots of back and forth, they told us they were done with our job and not coming back. Our final punch list was a page long, full shower glass enclosures in both bathrooms were never installed, wainscot wall coverings were incomplete and not installed well, sloppy seams and wood trim throughout, painting and drywall work was sloppy, chipped tiles and some of the new custom cabinetry was marred. We wanted to keep our existing wood trim but most of it got ruined by the elements because of their carelessness. The wood trim they used to replace ours was a different kind of wood, stained two shades too dark and wood filler was two shades too light. They left paint rollers hanging in trees, paint spills on the driveway and nails in the driveway which punctured our car tires. They continued to make it very clear that the contract was a fixed rate contract however they didn't honor that, specifically the wainscot material, they said the original material cost increased significantly and gave us two other material options to choose from that were significantly cheaper, so their contract was most definitely not a fixed rate contract. They failed to order material in a timely manner and expected us to eat it and go with a lower quality material. We also ordered $4,500 worth of custom bedroom furniture about halfway thru that we never received and after they told us they weren't coming back we asked for our furniture deposit back, which they refused, they sent us pictures of the furniture frames, with no drawers, knobs or finish and told us to come get it since material was already paid for. This is just bad business. We contacted the NC Contractors licensing board to file a complaint and learned our contract was illegal because their license wasn't valid when we signed the initial contract. That investigation is still pending. We ultimately had to hire our own glass company for the shower glass install and a new plumber to come out and fix low water pressure in both showers and zero hot water in the guest shower. The new plumber found wood chips in the shower heads and told us they used natural gas line pipe dope instead of Teflon tape to seal the connections, there are no gas lines in our home. We were left having to fix all the mismatched wood trim, sloppy paint, drywall and several other issues ourselves. GLR Kitchen and Bath remodeling cannot handle a big job and I would never recommend this company to do work, big or small, in your home.

We signed a contract for a construction project located at our primary property on May 6, 2024 with…read moreCarolina Contracting and Investment, Inc. The contract was signed with Glenn Wise located at 1632 Village Harbor Dr., Lake Wylie, SC. 28710. The project was to remove the roof of the 3-car detached garage extend the 3-car garage to six car garage and build a 2-bedroom 2 bath above the detached garage. Once the contract was signed by Mr. Wise, he turned over the construction of the project to Andrew Neweth, project manager and Art Regnier, supervisor. There were several problems with the construction project: The electrical for the detached project was to run through our Primary Dwelling, which already existed. We were told by Carolina Contracting that the county would not approve. However, the county did approve, but the concrete contractor had already poured the garage floor. This did not allow the placement of electrical in the detached garage. This was additional project cost to owner. The next issue was that the patio door was to be 12 foot wide but the Project Manager ordered and installed a 9 foot. The master bath was to have a walk- in tub. The framer was not told by contractor and framing was installed and installing of walk-in tub could not done. The front of the original detached garage was removed and the existing brick was cleaned of mortar and placed in yard. I asked the brick contractor why they did not use the removed cleaned brick. The contactor indicated that he was not told to install the brick. This was a cost to the owner for cleaning of brick. The biggest concern is the exterior brick that was installed. I had raised the concern back in January 2025. The brick ordered was manufactured by Triangle brick. The name that was ordered was Southampton. The original supply of brick was correct. The brick contractor ordered a second delivery of brick; however, it did not match the first supply of brick. He ordered a third order of brick, but again that supply did not match the original order. The brick contractor had the original order and the third order removed from property and used the Second order to complete project. The brick contractor was insisting that the brick would be a closer match after being pressure washed. There was a brick stainer that came out to our property several times to stain the brick. This process did not work and I was not satisfied with results. A contact from Carolina Brick and Material, brick supplier, came out to the property and asked how did the stainer perform his work. After we talked, he indicated that the end result was not acceptable. The color of the detached structure is lighter than the Primary dwelling. This looks bad and does not match the original structure. We were told by Glenn Wise that there would not use the contractors for Electrical, Plumbing and Concrete/block in future. The overall project was far from acceptable. There was no supervision from Glenn Wise, Andrew and Art. We would NOT hire Carolina Contractor and Investment again

The project timeline extended well beyond what was originally communicated, with little proactive communication or clarity around delays. Overall coordination felt lacking, and the project did not appear to be effectively managed from start to finish. One of my primary concerns was that the individual acting as the project manager was actually the company's Marketing & Business Development Director, and this was reportedly her first time managing a project. As a result, several important details were overlooked throughout the process. After the project was completed, I was also contacted directly by one of their subcontractors stating they had not been paid for their work. This was concerning and added to my overall lack of confidence in how the project was handled behind the scenes. Additionally, there were professionalism concerns during the project. The individual I understood to be the superintendent (Art) frequently arrived at my home with a noticeable odor of alcohol, which was uncomfortable and raised concerns. Based on my experience, I would recommend that others proceed with caution and ask detailed questions about project management structure, communication expectations, and subcontractor handling before moving forward.
