This service call is one of many as I've called Hope Plumbing for a few years now! Michael called ahead to let me know that he would be arriving in 30 minutes and was. I took him to my basement where I thought the issue was and come to find out that it was something totally different, a leaking hot water heater. That was something I hadn't expected at all! He also checked the gage that's located in the ground with the water meter! He show me the gage was going practically nonstop which means there's a leak! So hopefully it's just the installation of a new water heater! Michael suggested that we shut the water off, install a new water heater and after that, he advised me to call a leak detector to make sure there are no other leaks!....Thank you so much for going above and beyond, but most of all for your honesty!! read more

We have a story for you. On April 20, we had Hope Plumbing Heating and Cooling come out to do a routine tune up on our ac. Our former HVAC company merged with them, so that's why we had them come out. He didnt want to do a tune up because the unit is 10 years old. He told us our unit is leaking, it could fall thru the floor, the blower was pulling too many amps and that we needed a new one. The cost for a new HVAC system, even with a discount, would of costed $13,800. We wrote them a check for $2,000 as a down payment so we wouldn't have to finance so much. He told us they wouldn't deposit the check until the job was completed, which was scheduled for April 27. I called our bank on April 24 to make sure it didn't get deposited, and yes, they did on April 21. I called them and cancelled the job. I told them we wanted our money back. They called and left 2 different voicemails, that are still on my voicemail, telling me they would process a refund and it would go in the mail either that dah or on April 27. I did text them and email them last week, asking when the check was mailed and no response because they blocked my cell number and email. On Monday May 4, I called them from my husbands phone to ask when it was mailed and they said April 29. We still have no refund. They are saying that its a lack of communication on our part but how? I've called, texted, emailed. They haven't once called since April 24. They haven't reached out to my husband at all. read more

Was sold a 5K install to redo piping on the incoming lines of my home. They also sold me a water softener and iron filter both of those products works great however the craftsmanship you pay for is not worth the ROI. The pipe that was installed leaked within a week and then continued to have leaking issues without even making it a few months. (They were willing to fix this issue under warranty but you're hiring a professional and they can't get a basic install done right?) I cannot recommend enough to save your money and hire a handyman who's going to cut their cost in half and provide the same quality if not better. read more

We have had freezing problems causing no hot water from our Navien tankless the last 3 years. I called Hope and requested their top Navien expert who is Brian. I showed him a picture I took of the exhaust on the roof with an icycle and he said instantly I know what caused it and told me the solution was to get rid of the screen. Even when I called Navien customer service they never mentioned this solution. I am quite confident Brian's solution is better than the "experts." He explained it clearly and patiently answered all my questions. That is a big plus with Hope in that I never feel they are in a hurry, but take their time to make sure we are comfortable with the issue. We are so grateful for Brian!!! read more

Not thrilled with this outfit. I called for an estimate on trenching a new electrical feeder from the pole to an existing 200A panel that was temporarily fed by the old 60A overhead service. The guys didn't seem personable or enthusiastic, and frankly that's not terribly important, but when they gave me the estimate it didn't include the trenching at all. Well, I know enough about this to know that 120' of trench is going to be a large part of the project. They brushed it off when I questioned them and said they could have a "sub" do that, but they would have to come out for a separate estimate and avoided them (their OWN sub) because they were "too picky". Sorry guys, I want people who are picky! Well, that's just BS. I asked the main guy previously if this was a turnkey operation and he gave me kind of a blank stare, and when I explained what that meant, he was "Oh yeah, sure, sure!" Well, leaving the trenching off the bid entirely is pretty much the opposite of turnkey. The final straw was when the other guy wanted to take pictures of the furnace and water-heater so they can no doubt start pestering me about those. Well, screw that. They were there for electrical and nothing else, not to get their hooks in me for every utility appliance in the whole freaking house. Dirty. That same guy started bad-mouthing the people who've been maintaining my furnace for 20 years, and these jokers have been there 30 minutes. I knew immediately, that although their estimate was a bit lower than other bids I've gotten, they'd force me into some "club" (cult?) and constantly be trying to sell me something. They also seemed a little clueless on points that, even as an amateur, I knew. They stood zero chance of letting them touch my 105 year old house. read more

They charge $300 an hour for labor and literally were charging us $1300 for a garbage disposal replacement that you can easily Google and see it should be $200-$600. They wouldn't even go down below $600. Unwilling to give you detailed invoice. The guy was super friendly super nice, but just literally so expensive for no reason. They show you on a little iPhone the price and no break down of the labor or cost of parts. Save yourself a headache and don't use them. read more

UPDATE and bottom of post ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The absolute worst experience I have EVER had with a plumber. I feel I was ripped off for $400. Let me explain. So I bought a water softener. I bought the same manufacturer so that the new one would line up with the pipes. My old one was old and I could tell it wasn't working as it should, it was about 20 years old. I hooked the new one up and turned the water back on and noticed that I noticed that the pressure in my kitchen sink was really low. The same with other faucets in the house. I pushed the bypass valve and nothing changed. I even put the old bypass valve on and nothing changed. I shut the water off and called Roby's. Roby's is now Hope. I told them I would like some one to hook up my water softener because I thought I was doing something wrong. Turns out, I wasn't doing anything wrong. When they got to my home I told him everything and he said that they would charge $1500 to hook up my softener. I said "No". I said how much to get me going today even with hard water? He said $400. I said Ok. He then cut my copper pipes that lines up with my softener and built me a new bypass valve out of plastic I think it is called PEX? Anyway, I already had 2 other bypass valves and now I have another. When he was done we tried the water. Still no pressure in the sink but plenty at the pump according to the gauge. Evidently after I installed the water softener, some sediment broke lose and I need to replace all my faucets. That part was NOT his fault. It happens. Here is where I am pissed. When you see that a pump has plenty of pressure and see 2 other bypass valves appear not to be working, and one was new, Wouldn't you start looking for another problem? Why would you start cutting pipes and build another bypass valve that still didn't take care of the problem? That's like a car having a dead battery and you start by changing the engine. This is why I called a "Professional" I am not only no better off than I was before they came, but I am actually worse off because I couldn't hook up my water softener now because the pipes don't line up. I bought the new softener because it has a sediment filter built in. He told me that I should install another sediment filter and I asked him how much....over $1200. I asked how much to replace the kitchen faucet, he said $600 plus some extra parts for a hundred or two. $700 to possibly $800 dollars to replace one kitchen sink faucet? I'll go to Lowe's. Their installers charge a lot less. One more thing, I noticed that he walked around the house and got pictures of my breaker box, my furnace, and my hot water heater. I felt violated. That is just creepy. He didn't even ask. Those are things that had nothing to do with the call. So what did I really get for $400? I rarely get ripped off because I usually do my homework and understand the process better. I don't have a lot of time because my wife is disabled and on dialysis and I take care of everything now. In the end it's gonna cost me more. He saw me coming. I hate it that Roby's isn't here anymore. A lot of people in this area used them. One thing is for sure, I won't be calling this place again. Enjoy that $400 because it is the last you will get out of me. If this is the service they give, they won't be around this area long. Don't EVER call this place I had another company come out and I researched them first. They took out all the garbage that Hope did and fixed everything for a VERY reasonable price. omg....the most horrible company ever...issues with every technician with this company. from the electrical side, plumbing side & the hvac side. i dont have the 8 page space to write up all my issues ive had with them from all technicians. small claims court has been involved. a 1 day service tunred into a 3 month drown out service which ended in them damaging multiples areas in my home and i refuse to let them back in to damage anything any further. horrible horrible company and customer service. read more

This is my sink. Hope failed to unclog. They made me sign for work and pay $280 . They tried to up sell me a service for $2000 To unclog. And the topper, they had me waiting from 8:30 - 4p for technician. When he arrived he hurried the job ( i had stated I needed to get to work) while he continously sighed like he was upset and didn't want to do the job. We've had several large repairs done by them and the most costly one of all left our basement with no drainage, so every time it rains we are under water and have to move the water out ourselves. Called Hope because we needed to find and fix a small gas line leak. They told us they would assign jobs the next morning, I called and they said we were set for sometime in the afternoon. At 3:00 I called back and they said they were just going to call me to reschedule for Monday (it was Friday). Uhm, coldest time of the year and I have no heat. Don't string me along in an emergency. These guys are fantastic. My sink wasn't working and I couldn't figure out why. I checked out the aerator and pipes but was lost. Hope arrived, diagnosed the problem, and my sink worked great. I needed updated pipes through the entire house and it only took them 2 days to install them. The plumbers are friendly and respectful of your space. We initially used Hope Plumbing (now also heating and AC) to repair a leaky toilet, and then quickly engaged them for some regular maintenance and upkeep on kitchen appliances in a condo we bought in an older building that has plenty of unique nuances. They were prompt, professional and effective, and their customer service really stands out. I'd call it Nordstrom-level customer service from a plumping company. Buyer beware! I had 3 services quoted. I did one as I needed done quickly but it felt high for light fixture installation. Given size of fixtures I went with it and to be fair they did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. I had one other electrical job and a plumbing job quoted. Electrical was 2x another licensed company that just does electrical. Plumbing was 3x what another licensed plumber charged. In addition the plumber was rude, condescending and clearly thought I had no idea what was needed for job. He quote extra work that simply was not needed for the task at hand. I like to support local businesses but run from them. Too bad as I was hoping build longer term relationship for repairs. read more

Disappointed After Years of Loyalty I've been a loyal Hope Plumbing customer for years and even signed up for their membership program because I trusted their service. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and questioning that trust.I called them for two relatively simple issues: 1)A loose and wobbly kitchen faucet handle. 2)Very weak water flow from a bathroom sink. After inspecting both, the technician told me that because a part of the kitchen handle was broken, the entire faucet needed to be replaced. For the bathroom, he said it wasn't a clogged filter but a faucet issue, which also required a full replacement. He also recommended replacing the emergency shut-off valve. The total estimate-- $2,279.91--and he was ready to do the work that same day. Shocked by the cost, I decided to investigate further. I contacted Moen (the faucet manufacturer), and they sent me a replacement handle and a new aerator--for free. I was able to fix both issues myself in under 10 minutes, at no cost. This experience left me questioning whether Hope Plumbing had my best interests in mind or was simply trying to upsell unnecessary services. I'm seriously considering canceling my membership and will be cautious about using them in the future. Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose--and sadly, this experience may have tipped the balance for me. Be sure to get a second opinion before committing to major work. read more

If it was possible to give no stars...we would without hesitation. We asked Hope to come out an install a replacement faucet for our existing shower. They showed up on-time. Nice person. Offered 2 solutions - both seemed like a lot more work than we expected. Should have said 'no' - we didn't because it needed to be fixed. Installed a single-handle brushed nickel tub and shower faucet with shower head and spout. Replace chrome overflow trim. 45min of work = $1,341.62! Requested service for a water softener. Was told the tech would be available on Friday, between 1pm and 5pm. Received text at 4pm saying they would not be able to make it that day, could I schedule another date. I scheduled for the following Monday, between 11am and 5pm. I never received any texts or calls from a tech to confirm. I contacted the company at 3:30pm to find out what was going on. They did not have any record of the rescheduled time. I used Service Plus for many years for my services and never had any of these types of problems but, now that Hope Plumbing has taken over the Service Plus business, the attitude towards customer service has deteriorated drastically. I called about a broken waterhose spigot and ended up with (almost) all my very outdated plumbing issues being resolved! Richard called before he arrived to tell me his eta. When he got here, he walked me through the issues he saw in addition to the broken spigot, and then gave me a lot of options that fit what I was comfortable spending. I had a service plan with Hope Plumbing that I have cancelled due to poor experiences with them. They have constantly attempted to coerce me into upcharges every time I attempted to use the included services but this last experience with them was it for me. I had a main drain issue which is normal in my neighborhood and something that is needed at my house every few years. The service plan included one main drain cleaning a year. This time they attempted to upcharge me right from the get go, before they did any work at all. Then when I declined the upcharge they did a half hearted attempt to clean the drain and then insisted that a "specialist" had to come out. Once the specialist got there they did another half hearted attempt to clean the drain and then told me I needed an expensive jet cleaning that I knew was not necessary as I have owned my home for almost 40 years. I sent them on their way, called Rotor Rooter and got everything dealt with properly for a very reasonable fee. Rotor Rooter also discovered a problem with the Citizens portion of the sewer and got them out there to fix that which of course cost me nothing. The jet cleaning that Hope tried to convince me I needed would have done absolutely nothing for me, and possibly could have been damaging to my older pipes. I knew that myself, I didn't need anyone to tell me that. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

KJ was my serviceman and he was very professional, kind, and knowledgeable. He was very pleasant did a great job. He cleaned up when he was done. In all, we had five or six plumbers there throughout three weeks and our job is not completed. It is easier to take them to small claims court than to deal directly with them. We paid almost $1700.00 and the plumbing issues are worse than when Hope tech began. The tech would not supply anything like a receipt to show what we paid for. One of their offices is near a small claims court which should make it more convenient for them to address our claim. ETA: We visited a local plumbing supply store to look for replacements for the damage done by Hope to our faucets. The parking lot was filled with Hope trucks. However, the king gentleman who helped us quietly said that when the parts arrived he would give us a couple of name of "trusted and good plumbers." read more

Toilet was clogged. Removed the toilet from the floor, ran the "snake" for the clog, replaced the toilet/wax seal. Total time was about 30 minutes. Charged me $600. Waived the $99 trip fee. How very generous of them. read more
