So far, we have been very pleased with this company. They have done all the leg work including dealing with our stubborn insurance. After 3 years of trying to get insurance to accept the fact our roof was damaged, they were able to prove to them that it was damaged and met with our adjuster and have dealt directly with our insurance company. My roof was inspected for repair and estimates were written and submitted to my insurance company for the total roof replacement. Hoosier Contractors went back and forth with my adjuster and insurance company to try and make sure everything was written up to code. I was finally told, on May 7, that my roof was ready to be replaced and any other supplements that came through would be added to the loss. I did a final review and it all looked good to me. I am not in construction but I was assured it was good enough to move forward. I was told on May 7, 2024 that my roof was ready to be installed. I inquired about it a couple of times and was told it was being worked on with the scheduling and production department and they would be reaching out to me. Finally, well after their contract term of 45 days, I emailed them on July 1 and told them I wanted to rescind the contract. I told them I would give them until July 15 to refund my money in total of $13,535. I was contacted by them on the morning of July 2, by Dillon Hare and was told I would be scheduled and I basically told them no. As a matter of fact, on the evening of July 2, I emailed Hoosier Contractors and reiterated the fact that I wanted my money back and the deadline was still July 15. I had not heard anything back in response and July 15 came and went with no other communication from Hoosier Contractors, and I also did not receive my refund check. I have to file complaints with the IN AG as well as the BBB to try and get my money back. read more

Avoid this company. They saw the storm damage on our house and knocked on the door offering to manage the insurance process and get everything fixed at no cost to us. Said they should be able to get started in a few weeks, definitely no more than 6 weeks. It has been almost 8 weeks since I signed that preliminary agreement and they still haven't reached out to schedule the job yet. They didn't bother to tarp the damage despite all the April showers. They told me they were waiting on insurance so I contacted my agent and found out they actually hadn't submitted anything yet. I found another contractor who comes highly recommended and they put a tarp on the house within a few days of our first meeting. I emailed Hoosier to let them know we won't be moving forward with them. Melanie at Hoosier is now telling me they can't close my file because "they got my roof bought for me and have already done a color confirmation." Nevermind that it has been over 7 weeks, they have not submitted anything to insurance, I have not paid them and they haven't scheduled the job yet. This is turning out to be a major pain and I thoroughly regret even talking to them. There are other contractors who can work with insurance, don't waste your time with this company. read more

They fixed siding on our home from the prior owner. The work was so bad, it caused water damage in the ceiling. When I rescheduled out about the poor work/ damage, they said it was under warranty, and they said they would send work in a week. In order to file a claim with insurance, they wanted warranty documentation. I rescheduled out, they then claim warranty is non transferable. So not only did their work ruin my ceiling, they lied. Avoid at all costs, the work and the people are trash. read more

We got a new roof and have a few issues they said they would fix and the person we were working with won't respond. It has been almost been 2 months now and no one will get back with us. This was one of the worst experiences. They over promise and under deliver. It all started once they said there was damage to the roof, gutters and downspouts. They made a huge mess that they never cleaned up. It took us calling and calling and calling to get a huge window replaced. They still never replaced all of the damage they did. You will loose thousands of $$$ by letting them suck all your insurance reimbursement funds and you will get the shittiest roof ever, unless you pay them more to upgrade. Here is an example: your insurance pays $8k for a roof replacement, which is more than enough to get the best quality roof. The contract allows them to pocket that $8k and put a low grade roof on your house, that you can usually get for $5k retail! They will pocket the difference and if you wanted to upgrade your roof to match an $8k roof amterials, then you have to pay them an extra $3k!!!! triple the profit and the customer is the one loosing in this equation! We contacted HOOSIER contractors about hail damage to barn and home roof. They were with us every step of the way with the lengthy process, We had a unique, discontinued shingle that was hard to replace, but with persistence they found a shingle that met our needs, We we're out of town when the project was finished but our representative sent us pics upon completion, We had a few glitches with the roof installations with our solar attic vents, but it was intended to promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend Hoosier Contractors to anyone. read more

Salesman came to my door. I clearly told him that I wasn't interested 3 times, and he finally left. Several days later another salesman came to our door. My college age daughter was home alone. He made my daughter very uncomfortable saying things like "your eyes are really pretty" "can I pet your dog" "can you give me a water bottle I'm hot". NOT APPROPRIATE AMD UNPROFESSIONAL. First if I tell you I'm not interested don't come back, that's harassment. Second creepily flirting with my daughter and making her very uncomfortable will not get you any sales. In my opinion, this company is not a reputable company and should be avoided. We had a chimney cap installed in August of 2020. On 12/11/21 during the high winds, the chimney cap was blown off and crashed in my yard. The cap was improperly installed with four one inch sheet metal screws that were vertically installed through the top of the cap. I spoke with Hoosier Contractors about the fallen cap on Monday, 12/13/21. I was told that it was an act of nature and they were not responsible. I texted the manager pictures of the cap and requested for someone to take a look at the cap. I have received no correspondence since. Avoid this company! Hoosier Contrators is currently doing a roof next door to our home. The roofing debris is thrown off into the yard and extends up against the side of our house, on our a/c unit, and in the shrubs. Its has been left there most of the day while they install the new roof. I see most contractors throw it off into a trailer of dumpster. I called Hoosier Contractors to complain, and to ask them to remove the debris, but only got voice mail. To this point, still no call back. I'll probably be doing a new roof too, but won't use them. In my opinion they don't appear to to show any regard for the surrounding property, or show an interest in following up on concerns. read more

Never actually got to use them for service. They called on a Saturday and said they would be out around noon. I called them back around 1:30pm after hearing nothing from them. I was told they were pulled away to another job estimate that was in a different area. The lady said someone was supposed to call to let me know and no one did. So we rescheduled for Monday morning before noon.....NEVER SHOWED UP OR CALLED AGAIN. Obviously I will not be using them. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and shame on me. Obviously the owner either does not care or thinks he has enough work for now. I thought I would give them a shot, due to them being local, I guess that was my bad. And I am really ticked that they never showed up or called to even say were sorry for messing up again. In today's economy, you cant stay in business with practices like that. read more

Process was started in November 2019. Communication was completely non-existent. Had to reach out several times to see where we were with the process. Roof was replaced in July 2020 after several failed attempts to speed up the process. Siding was damaged during the process and was not fixed until September 2020. Entire process took nearly a year. When I was able to get a hold of someone, they were friendly but I had to reach out 99% of the time. When there was a stall due to my insurance or something from me, I was not notified until I was able to get a hold of someone. read more

Don't sign anything with hoosier contractors. All the negative reviews are true, they have very poor communication and are incredibly hard if not impossible to get a hold of. I signed a contract with them to do the roof on my house and went thru the process with the insurance company and when it came time to pick out the shingle color they made the appointment time with me twice and both times they cancelled. After numerous attempts to call them ( no one ever answers the phone at their office) I started getting estimates from other contractors. When I informed them that I may not use them, they did not even try to work thru this issue with me. Instead of being a true respectful inderstanding business they opted to call their lawyer and send me a notice of intent to collect if I did not let them do the job. Just so you understand I did sign the contract with them but I had no idea they would be so impossible to work with. That being said I will pay the cost to cancel the contract with them because I do not trust them AT ALL and the way they handle their customers is very unprofessional. BEWARE if you sign a contract with them it could cost you up to 2000.00 to get out of your contract. At this point it is worth it to me me as my opinion of their business practices are very poor.They are not willing to reach out when there is a problem caused by them like most men would instead the owner sickes his lawyer on you. Also their contract you sign with them is very one-sided in their favor and allows them to stall the job for virtually any reason with no recourse from you. DONT SIGN THE CONTRACT! read more

DO NOT.... I REPEAT DO NOT use these people. They took 5 months to get to putting the new roof on. Granted the insurance caused part of the delay. During installation they caused damage that took nearly three weeks for them to come repair. And even longer to repair the gutters they damaged. When they did come to repair the damages, they fixed it wrong it used oversized trim. Additionally, the front desk lady is sarcastic and demeaning when you call to discuss a problem. read more

CONSUMER BEWARE!! It is important to realize whether you recieve goods and services or not from Hoosier Contractors, you are dealing with an extremely litigious company that is waiting in the dark to take you to court. Speculation would lead to the fact that if you have problems with a completed roof, good luck seeking resolution. I fit the latter where I recieved no good and services from this company but did recieve a threat of putting a lien on my house due to the fact that I did not choose them to replace my roof for hail damage. 90% of my claim was handled through another roofing contractor which they were fully aware. Then, they choose to misrepresent themselves saying they needed my signature to file a supplemental claim for something they noticed in an inspection of which I clearly communicated that I was NOT committed to them doing the work as of yet. Then, while out of town, they had a representative aggressively knocking on the door while my 2yr old triplets were sleeping telling our nanny to pull my wife out of a mediation because they had an appointment with her (100% lie). Then, I was hammered with 14 telephone calls asking me when I can schedule my roof because they have 150 people they are in the process of calling. Thankfully, due to my wife's affiliations, I have legal resources to protect my interests but unfortunately not every consumer does so I wanted to alert you to the integrity and business practices that you will be dealing with when working with Hoosier Contractors. read more

I wish I could give a minus rating. This company is a complete joke with no regard to customer service at all. I suppose this is why they want the money up front. They assured me they would have a quality control person oversee my job but that didn't happen. When I asked him if he checked on my decking like I asked him to do, he said the installers said it was ok. So I could of done that but where was my quality control? Oh yeah, sitting in his truck. And his so called boss, couldn't care less, nor anyone at this company. The guys they subbed out to do my roof, destroyed landscaping without regard and when trying to get answers from these people, the manager called me back because I kept calling the office. He actually said that's why he finally called me back. Good job buddy. Everyone here is rude and very un professional and I wish I would of read these reviews before letting this company on my property. Be very careful dealing with this company - very dishonest!! Their MO must be that they make you sign a contract to 'negotiate a higher reimbursement' from your insurance co prior to the job to be done (roof replacement, in our case). But they dishonestly entered us into a 'work agreement' by having us sign a contract under false pretenses. I can't imagine that they expect to be a viable business with this kind of dishonest and abusive behavior. They are suing to force us into allowing them to replace our roof, or they want to be paid for 'lost profits' if we get roof replaced by people we trust more. Unbelievable!!! The workers work very hard and responsible. However, the management is not customer friendly and is not committed to fix damages made by their team during the roof replacement. For instance, the gutters and trim of our house was just painted within a week and looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the paint on the house gutters was scratched in several places after roof replacement and some scratches are clearly visible from the front of the house. However the manager of this project rejected their responsibility to cover the scratches with the reason that these are minor damages and not avoidable. During the pre-project meeting, we raised this concern about potential damages on the exterior of the house, the manager didn't address the differences between minor (not responsible) and major (responsible) damages. We specifically asked if we should delay the exterior house painting project until they finish the roof project, but the manager said that if they damage the gutters during their work, they will repair the damages, but he didn't explain what damages they will not be responsible. Only after the roof replacement done and the scratches occurred, they informed us that these are minor damages and they will not do anything to cover these scratches. The management team need to communicate better with the customers and be honest about what kind the damages they are not responsible during the pre-project meetings. read more

If you see these guys pull up in front of your house CLOSE THE DOORS AND DEADBOLT THEM! Had my roof and gutters replaced in October of 2014. Last November(2016) I noticed the ceiling in my garage caving in from a leak. They came to inspect the roof and did some shoddy caulking and patchwork. I was told if the leak persisted they would come back and replace that section of roof. They came back again several months later after I informed them that it was still leaking. They did a water test with a hose and did some more patching and caulking. Still leaked. They came back again, and determined that the leak in my garage came from my siding! Funny, it never leaked before the new roof was installed! I asked another contractor to come by and offer his assessment. He said it WAS NOT from the siding. In the interim, we noticed more leaks in different areas and upon further inspection, found some really crappy flashing work. It doesn't even run under the shingles in many areas! My chimney now leaks because of the poor flashing. I had called at the end of May to see when they were going to fix my roof and the subsequent damage. Never got a call back. When I called AGAIN a few weeks ago I was told tat one of their guys called and left a voice mail for me on June 12th. THEY DID NOT! Another rep came to the house a couple of weeks ago. He and my wife examined the roof once again. He agreed that the flashing and roofing in general was sub par. He said he could see why the roof was leaking. Finally, I thought, A BREAKTHROUGH! Another rep stopped by last Thursday. I thought he would lay out a plan to replace the roofing and a the damage that had been done. WRONG! He went back to the siding being at fault! Its pretty obvious that these guys do terrible work and then don't stand behind it. THE ONLY REASON I GAVE THEM A SINGLE STAR IS BECAUSE ZERO IS NOT AN OPTION! Next stop, Attorney General! read more

That made it cost $3,000-$4,000 more then any other quote we got and they would not tell us what the extra money was for. We used Hoosier Contractors for our roof that was leaking. The overall experience was very positive. All the team members were professional and walked us through the entire process. Especially, the person in their admin department who explained things in great detail. She also sent an email informing us what to do (removing patio furniture, taking down Christmas lights etc.) prior to our installation date. We had a few landscaping lights that were damaged and they replaced them. Overall, a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them to others. read more

They did a good job interfacing with our insurance company and working through all the insurance details. They are a professional company and overall was very pleasant to work with. Our experience started well over one year ago when we signed a contract for them to repair our hail-damaged roof. After not hearing from them for weeks after we signed the contract, we decided to get other estimates, only to find out that Hoosier Contractors were exceedingly higher than everyone else. In August 2015, they finally responded to our many phone calls and emails regarding when the work could get done. We told them we were going to use someone else, and they immediately threatened us with a lawsuit because of the contract we signed. The roof was finally put on over Thanksgiving weekend 2015...mind you, that was 5 MONTHS AFTER WE SIGNED THE CONTRACT WITH THEM! (As a side note, they will try to up-charge you for many items, that will not be covered under insurance, i.e. deck boards, trim boards, painting, etc.) There were a number of items done in poor quality which we tried to address with their customer service department. We paid a significant portion of the bill, and stated the remainder would be paid upon completion of the poor quality items. We sent several emails with pictures of items where shoddy work was done requesting repairs. It was hit or miss as to whether or not they would respond. When they did, they claimed someone would come out and address the problems. Months passed, and no one ever came out to fix anything. After months of nothing being done, we received a bill in the mail for the remaining balance and also a letter from their lawyer. Again, we let them know they would get the remaining balance once everything was completed. In the meantime, we sold our house without these repairs being done. We made a phone call to Hoosier Contractors to find out where we go from here. They responded with another threat of lawsuit and stated the repairs had been completed and our balance was due today. When asked to prove the work had been done, their general manager, who came to our house to pick up a check for the remaining balance, hesitatingly agreed to drive to the old house to show that the work had been done. NOTHING HAD BEEN REPAIRED!!! Even though caught in a lie, the only response from the GM was to pay anyway or we would be sued. Our experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare.
