Honey's Hotdogs - Chicken Mini Sandwich, Beef Dog, Bowl of Chili - Hot Dogs Near Me - Dothan, Alabama

Love the hotdogs and chili sometimes I switch it up and get the slaw. The place is cozy the workers are friendly great atmosphere

Alright, so the negative reviews are from all the prude Yankees from the north that have moved south in the hopes that people will just be kind to their rudeness. If you're looking for some fancy gourmet hotdog... This ain't the place. But, if you're wanting a sloppy and cheap chili slaw dog that reminds you of the ones you used to have growing up... this is definitely one of the best places around! read more

What the good folks in Dothan refer to as chili is not chili where I come from. It was ground beef like I've seen before in tacos. It tastes okay but doesn't look appealing. It's better with slaw but not by much. It's very meaty though and messy to eat. It's a two gander to be sure. Not the kind of thing you'd want to eat in the car. The place was clean. Service was agreeable. The pickles were cold and prices were reasonable. But calling that a chili dog is wrong. read more

Super hot dogs ordered just like you want them. Fast and efficient and great service with a smile.

Excellent food, excellent service, very clean! My nephew had the chicken tenders, they were huge, and I had a mini burger and a corn dog. We both tried the chocolate, oreo, cool whip pudding. Yum, yum, yum!! read more

Visiting from out of town and was told this place had the "best" hot dogs around.... far from the truth. Cheap hot dogs that turned the bun pink, nasty flavorless chili. I had to add salt and hot sauce to be able to stomach it. Fries were soggy and I had to refill my own drink. Don't go here. GROSS! Go to sams club and get a much better hot dog read more

Being new to the area, I was told that Honey's had the best hot dogs around. If this is the case, then this area has a big hole wear the good hot dogs should be. Try again Dothan. Cheap meat, cold buns equals bad hot dogs. read more

Honey's was originally owned by my childhood friend, James Trawick. When my wife and I visited from Texas we always made it a point to eat at Honey's at least once during the visit. The hotdogs, hamburgers and fries were delicious. I was concerned that when he sold it things would change for the worse. After eating there yesterday, I am happy to say the new owners have made a valiant attempt at keeping things the same. We had hotdogs, hamburgers, and fries and they were delicious as always. The wait staff couldn't have been more courteous. Congratulations to the new proprietors! You've kept to James' standards and when we return again, you can bet we'll be back. read more

Honey's should seriously consider changing their name to Honey's Fries or Honey's Chicken sandwhiches. Those two items are immensely better than their hot dogs. Oddly enough this place was voted best hot dogs in town. If you consider cheap pink hot dogs boiled with a cheap white bread bun with grey browned meat they call chili a good hot dog, then this place might be for you. Sadly, Sonic makes a better hot dog. The only redeeming quality was the delicious home cooked fresh french fries and the fact their hot dog was only $1.50. I'd highly recommend the owners of this store to visit any hot-dog street vendor in NYC or Chicago or anywhere for that matter to discover what a decent hot dog is. Save yourself $1.50 and make your own for a better experience. read more

Great atmosphere and wonderful staff but the food does not match. Chili dogs are pretty bland and French fries taste frozen, soggy, and not fresh. read more

Used to be the best hot dog in the wiregrass but new ownership under "Bill" has pretty much ruined the family atmosphere. He's now changed the fries from homemade to cheap frozen kind just to save a buck. His poor decisions and mismanagement will lead to a once great restaurant's demise unfortunately. read more

These hot dogs are incredibly bland . A microwave on display is never a good thing . Ground beef is not chili for the record .

This use to be my favorite place to eat hotdogs and the staff was always nice, so when I came back through town I had to go by there to get one. Well I wish I'd never gone back. The staff was rude, and the hotdogs were far from impressive. read more

Totally different than anything I expected. Cozy, friendly atmosphere and really nice hometown people to school this city girl in the real Southern Living. I am a purist, just mustard on a dog, but I tried the "chili" southern style. The bun was piping hot and so was the dog under all the "ground beef chili". A lotta meat! I spiced it up more with sauce. The fries are the crispiest, the only way I like them. The locals who also were schooling me said the place hasn't changed much even under new ownership. I think the other posts on here are a bit suspect. It's an experience you need to have! I love how close it was to new Forever Wild trails it is. I needed sustenance, there it was at Honey's! I'd eat here again! read more

Best hot dogs anywhere around! Would give them 5 stars but during lunch rush its almost impossible to get in the door, and during the summer it's sweltering inside because the AC units can't keep up. read more

On my way home to brush the nasty taste out of my mouth. Had two bites of the worst chili hot dog ever. Never knew a hot dog could be so horribly prepared! Gave a one star because no stars wasn't an option. Also tried the mini hamburger. It was equally as bad as the chili dog. The burger looked and tasted as if it was boiled. The chili on the hot dog looked like some type of crumbled cooked meat without any seasoning. First and last visit for us! Total waste of money for sure. read more

excellent food. super fast service. best hot dog in town. fries were great and the desserts are homemade. keep up the good work.
