    Quiche and pecan cinnamon roll
    Samantha P.

I've been wanting to stop by for a long time but my schedule never seemed to line up with their hours. Today is the day!! Stopped in and was met with an amazing aroma of coffee and fresh pastries! Extremely friendly staff. It was our first time in and she kindly listed everything on and off of the menu, gave great recommendations, and the service was very fast! We got a slice of quiche and a pecan cinnamon roll. BOTH were great! The cinnamon roll was a perfect balance of sweet and not too sweet. My husband got a hot chai while I got an iced crème brûlée coffee. Both great flavors and taste EXACTLY like what they're meant to. I will add, if you don't like super sweet things, creme brûlée may not be for you but they have plenty of options for everyone. 10/10 would recommend! Please visit this sweet little coffee spot on your way through Chandler and support local!

Matt from Peltier KIA in Tyler recommended I stop in to the Honeycomb Café in Chandler on my way back home from Tyler to Athens. He said they are family owned and their food is awesome. So, on my way back home I did, in fact, stop at the Honeycomb Café! At first, I almost missed it! They are located right at the railroad tracks across from Wade's Seafood Place in a gray brick building with a black roof. The parking was actually great. The aroma hit me first when I opened the door. Fall, pumpkins, fresh baked bread & coffee was amazing! I was greeted by the nicest people! I explained how I got to them and who recommended me and Matt Kauffman (Yes...just like my MAIDEN NAME! We must be related somewhere!), said "How do you know, Matt?" I explained how I knew Matt at KIA and began a 15 minute conversation about him and his family heritage! He and his wife, Tonya owns the bakery and I can tell you they are PASSIONATE about their food! They recommended the Pasta Salad and Potato Soup for my Husband. I literally came in while they were closing (Tues - Friday 6am-2pm & Sat 7am-12 Noon) but they were so gracious! I LOVE Pasta salads so I got that & potato soup and couldn't resist their "dessert of the day" which, much to my delight, was Pumpkin Crunch Cake! Imagine a homemade pecan sandie cookie and a pumpkin pie had a baby! SSSSoooo good! When I got home I shared the food with my husband who said "Wait...where did you get this? It's awesome". The Pasta salad was so good I ate it before getting pics of it and the potato soup. Do yourself a favor, stop in, say Hi and get ready to enjoy the most delicious food you've had in a while! I will be back and probably NOT waiting until I need to go to Tyler! Thank you, Matt & Tonya for bringing your vision to Chandler!

Top Line: Picked up a Blue Horse fudge bacon brownie $6 at Brendyn's BBQ yesterday along with a meal, saving the brownie as a treat for today. So returned to Brendyn's this afternoon to get tea for eating the brownie. Brownie is seriously heavy!! Very, very moist beneath the layer of baby chocolate chips and extraordinarily tender of crumb. Too much so I found. The block of chocolate cake-like brownie crumbled into pieces as I tried to pick it up. I finally resorted to pinching off small wads of it to pop into my mouth. While being very moist with oil density, the flavor profile was about on par with a supermarket bakery brownie. Plenty of chocolate taste, but minimal (if any) bacon smokiness shining through. Fudge's buttery brown sugar sweetness or cream's richness were likewise AWOL. So I'd say this was a decent $2.50 brownie. But nowhere near justifying the $6 ticket price I paid to get it, in spite of its moistness. If I'm in the neighborhood of Blue Horse's sticks 'n bricks location I may hit them up for a cupcake or some such to see how that flies. But no more brownies from them for me.

I'm not sure why they made it so tall either, is that an "IN" thing? It was hard to cut and honestly didn't even fit a dessert plate LOL. I dunno maybe there's a way to cut that style. My request was last mintute but I don't really thing it would've been a big deal anyway because they had duplicates already on the table. It was okay, I wouldn't order it again though TBH. It's a cute bakery but there needs to be a few improvements on taste/texture. The coffee isn't that great either but there's not really a lot of options around. I know the next day after the Festival there was a coffee truck on the main square and that was GOOD! I can't remember the name of it but if there's a coffee truck in that area, they serve some BAD AS coffee!
