I am so disappointed in Jose and his company. He had done work for me in the past with no issues. Jose came to my home a few weeks ago and quoted me a price to do some electric work. When the time came to do the work, he never showed up and ignored the several calls I made to him. I had just recommended him to my friend for a much bigger job because I wanted to help give him business, but now I can no longer stand behind this company. Have to downgrade to 3 stars, and that's being generous. I think if you reach out to a company multiple times and they blow you off, they really don't deserve more than 2 stars. I reached out to Joe again earlier this year for additional work, reached him and he indicated interest in my project. I then called him again to further the work, and he ignored me, called him again and he again ignored me. I think I reached out a 3rd time, again to be ignored. What a disappointing ending to this relationship, as I really did like Joe. I wish he'd responded to me and explained why he wasn't interested in performing my additional scope. read more

As others have repeatedly stated, they do not return your calls (or at minimum, are arbitrarily selective about doing so). I have two separate and valid phone numbers and left clear, concise messages on at least a half-dozen occasions over a period of roughly as many weeks, all to no avail. It's obvious the message is they don't need me, my job, or my money. Sincerely, if that's how they handle their clients, one naturally has to assume this is a direct reflection on the quality of their work and overall reliability. Frankly, I'm surprised they're still in business (if they are). The good news is, that by using Bay Area Consumers' Checkbook (or even the internet), I've alternatively found a number of respectable electricians who have responded to my calls and will be coming to my home for estimates. As the saying goes, there are more fish in the ocean. Otherwise, if your time is important to you and you feel you'd be better served by an outfit that actually cares about your electrical needs, employing these folks would be a waste of time and an unwise decision indeed. But if you do, caveat emptor.... They may be "Honest" Electric, but they're certainly not Honestly "Trying" Electric. Sorry. read more

I don't have much to say because they never call back. I've called them and one other place THREE TIMES and left messages each time asking for a return call, and never once have they called me back. That is extremely rude and it says a lot about their business professionalism. And it's not like I called three times in a row and they got annoyed with me (which is still rude but slightly more understandable), I called twice for the same issue a year ago (with several weeks between each call), and once last week. Jose and his team are skilled, quick and gave me great pricing for installing new ceiling lights, exterior sensor lights, replacing all outlets and covers, remove some adhoc wiring and install it properly, installing gfci outlets, fix improper wiring done by previous owner. Two and half days work for 2-3 people, paid under 800, can't beat the price. One advice though, be around while the work is done and make sure nothing is missed, and test it out yourself. read more

We needed an electrical panel replaced in our home that was essentially a fire hazard. We received a few quotes but HONEST was the best priced by far for doing the same (if not more) work as the others. The crew came out and replaced the sub-panel, installed sheet rock on the wall of the main panel, and installed new breakers all for the reasonably low price of under $1000. They finished the job in a couple of hours. Friendly, knowledgeable and frankly, honest. We've been using them ever since for other electric work around the house. They are great! read more

Joe Silva was absolutely amazing! We lost power in 1/2 our townhome. He came out at the said time. He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable in diagnosing our electrical issues. He couldn't find the issue on the 1st day, because our electricity had come back on after running our dryer. He asked me to call him as soon as our electricity went off again...even though it was a Saturday he was out in 15 minutes. He determined that it was a PG&E issue... and didn't charge me anything for his time. If you need an electrician who is truly honest, call Honest Electrictricians! Honest Electric repaired a damaged electrical circuit to the A/C system of my home that had been first installed in 2007. I believe a raccoon got into it. Jose Silva the owner installed a new weather proof junction box, new all steel conduit and new conductors. When I asked him for the bill he told me that it was no charge. I cannot say enough good things about a contractor such as Honest Electric who stood behind its workmanship after 4 years.The work was done promptly after I called and in a professional manner. Honest Electric is great! They did a major wiring project in my home 4 years ago and since then have always come out to check any little problem I've had. I tripped the circuit breaker when my surge protector went out on me. Joe came out within a half hour and saved the day. I needed 2 GFI outlets to be installed for new landscaping. Joe and his team did a nice clean job cutting into our home to tap into the power source to feed the new outlets. My contractor recommended them and I was not disappointed. They moved plugs, installed circuit breakers and ran wires under the house. I expected 1 worker to take all day. Instead they sent 3 men and got the job done in around 2 hours. Crawling under the house and getting dirty pulling out dryer in the garage, yet there was not a speck of dirt anywhere from them. They were very professional, consciences of keeping my home clean and friendly with our dogs. Not to mention their price was reasonable, and they were punctual.
