Thursday morning I woke up to a small flood in my basement. The sewer pipe was blocked somewhere…read morebetween my house and the street. There only two plumber/sever companies I have ever dealt with in the past and I didn't want to use either of them because of past experiences. I wasn't really sure what to do so I jumped on Yelp and found All In One Drain Cleaning. I called and got a live person, Bill, who said that someone would be coming out my way in a few hours. Blake was the person who showed up, before noon. He tried snaking the pipe with a monster snake and had no luck. He then had to send a camera down the drain to see what was up. He told me how much it would cost and my eyes rolled into the back of my head but I had no choice and had to go with it. I am really shocked at how much it costs to send a camera down the pipe for 5 minutes. Yikes! Anyway, the camera revealed that the pipe was clogged solid so that was a good call. The next step was to blast the blockage with a water jet. Because of where my drain cleanout is located in the basement, there was no way to blast it without flooding the basement. This is where his boss, Bill, stepped in and a decision was made to dig up the front yard and install a cleanout pipe connected to the main pipe. The whole job took several hours and was finished around 7PM. It cost an arm, a leg, a lamppost, and my firstborn but at last, I was able to shower and poop without worrying that the goods would end up in the basement again. I guess certain services are just very expensive. I don't have any point of reference as to the price point because I wasn't able to "shop" around, although I am also not sure I would want to anyway. Bill and Blake a couple of very hard-working guys and they know their craft. On top of that, they are very personable and bicker like an old married couple. I would strongly recommend them to anyone who is dealing with serious plumbing or sewage problems.

I was going to ask how much it would cost, but I was at work and needed to get off the phone. When they came, they told me the cost to install it would be $489. That seemed extremely high to me, but the guy insisted any other places would charge the same. They also mentioned the cost for taking the old dishwasher was $50, which I thought was part of the total cost of $489. When I got the bill, there was a 3rd charge for $89 for a "service call". The total bill was $628.00, to install a dishwasher I bought for $350. I was curious so I called a competitor in Townsend, and I was told it would cost around $300. These people are thieves. Dishwasher was installed without issue, though.

Unfortunately, we contacted a host of plumbers and NONE answered with the exception of two. Roto-Rooter PROMISED to have a technician on the premises between the hours of 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Then, at about 2:00 PM, Roto-Rooter called and rescinded its promise. Jim Watson from Royal Flush returned a call immediately. He was shopping with his wife in Warwick, RI, but realized that the situation was truly an emergency. He promised to be on the premises within an hour and he was. Prior to that, he asked me to take a picture of the valve with my iPhone and send it for his review. This way, there was no ambiguity regarding the problem or the job. Jim has a great personality and is an outstanding craftsman. Furthermore, he understands thoroughly the necessary human aspect of his business. He even waited for the city to turn the supply from road on before he left the premises. He inspected his work carefully while under pressure and improved an antiquated configuration. Will certainly use again in the future!

I alerted the head of the business who made promises about start dates and refunds and it never happened. When my relative sent the charge to collections from her credit card they finally acted. I told him this and he said "I'm just going to charge more to the people he says that to." Like I'm not one?
