After my septic tank was pumped, my receipt was left in the front door with the notation, "Cover warped, not sitting properly -- if interested, 9" riser with concrete cover." There was no direct communication explaining the severity of the issue. When I contacted the office the following day for clarification, I was told the area was unsafe and posed a major safety hazard because the warped cover was only a few inches beneath the dirt. If someone stepped on that area, they could potentially fall through the cover and directly into the septic tank below.I was shocked that nobody had notified me of this danger. I asked to speak with the owner, who was understandably upset with his team and deeply apologetic. He acknowledged that the situation never should have been handled that way and that I should have been directly notified of the safety hazard. Despite it being after regular business hours, he came to my home that evening to secure the cover with screws for the night, then returned the following morning to complete the repair. While the lack of communication was a serious concern, I genuinely appreciate the owner's response, accountability, and willingness to make things right. Even when a major mistake occurred, he took responsibility and addressed the situation promptly. For that reason, I will continue to be a customer of Helgerson's.

Marty was great working with such a nasty mess and getting it cleaned out for me. . He worked with All in one drain Company to get the mess straighten out. I highly recommend both of these companies for any drain or septic problems you might have. Very professional and reassuring me that they could get it fixed in this freezing cold weather. I couldn't have asked for better service. They said they would come at 1pm and both of them showed up at the same time, that alone is an A plus. I had called another company the evening before , C Harris out of Sutton and he told me he would be there in the morning , he never called or came. I finally called this company only to be told by his office mgr. that he works only with Gustafson Plumbing and if I wasn't going to have them do the plumbing then he wasn't coming . I was never told that when I spoke with either company. He didn't even have the respect to call me and tell me he wasn't coming. So, I guess I was the lucky one to find such a nice person as Marty out of L & H Sewerage who came asap to help me out. my vote is L& H Sewerage and I would never hesitate to call them again.

I mean JT said he would be here and "poof" sure enough..here and here early with a friendly big smile, even though I knew he had many more and his day was full, He still managed to make me feel as though I was priority. I never even left the inside of my house he handled everything for me. When I called with questions, they not only answered but explained so I could understand and make the right decision for me. I really feel compelled to go on and on about how super they were and how they made me feel like their only customer, and put my mind at ease. It was just such a positive experience that I really feel the need to just share this with everyone! Thank you, JT and Slims & Berthiume! Sharon..auburn

Not until i posted a poor review did the owner respond. Schedule an appt, take time off of work, tech shows up an hour and 15 later , with no call, only until i texted him did i know he would be late. So I missed work for no reason at all!!! Pointed out my spare washing machine, bc I bought a new one thinking it was the machine, and not them! Happens a 2nd time, well? They take no responsibility without a fight!! Come to fix it, basically offer me half price for their lack of service for a problem they caused only bc i was stubborn, only to say, it would help if you took down your bad review! Bribery!!! Then hear the owner on the phone say, so how was she? Prior to agreeing to charge me half price. So I agree, n meet in the middle! Asked them to bill me, and I would call to pay it. Suddenly, and fraudulently my account is charged by them!!!! I never consented to keep my card on file or to process a payment!!! Emailed, texted, no response!!! So here it is, they pump your tank then you get a basement, n washing machine full of shit!!! Just like Gabe!!! Their reputation comes from before this dink was in charge!!! Do yourself a favor and do not use Slims!!!! I will be blocking the charge and reporting fraud, blackmail, and bribery!!! Thank you for your response Erin!!! CREDIT Card Fraud!!! Now that Jay actually confirmed the issue I WILL fix it!! Finances aren't the issue, it is accountability!! This matter was over n done with and mutually agreed upon until I was charged without authorization! Do you really want to keep this up? Again, a real business manager would seek to resolve the issue, not antagonize!!! You know how to reach me if you really want to make the situation worse!!! Tell me? Why DID you refund my money? Bc you admit fault, or are afraid I will report you to the BBB, and what they find might not be so on the up n up?! UPDATE: It appears the refund I was given as stated in Erin Berthiaumes response to my post, trying to make themselves look good, has been rescinded!!! No email notification, phone call or text. What kind of business behaves this way?! I didnt ask for the refund for the initial pump out, you offered it and then took it back??? Tosday I emailed and texted to see what the story is. Asked for direct contact to business mananger to discuss, again no response. I have never heard of or experienced something so dishonest in my life!! For someone who wants to pray for me, I think you need to reassess your integrity. Such a shame to have to play games like this. Just he honest, upfront and take responsibility!! Dont try and make yourselves look good, by claiming you issued a discount and then retracting it. Juat do the right thing, follow through on what you said you would, and then lose my account information!! There is no need for this run around and deceitfulness!!! I literally dont have the energy to argue with you people any longer

Curtis Septic Service

Curtis Septic is the best decision we have ever made when working with a professional for an important home, family and safety project. Septic systems are the largest investment you will ever make in your home that no one will see. When you make a large important home investment you need to know you are getting the best services and products. From the moment we called Curtis we could tell we engaging with caring and dedicated professionals. They were thoughtful in ways I could not have predicted, from explaining the process, to answering off hours questions via email, text and call, to walking us through how the septic worked and how they were installing it- every step of the way they held our hands and were dedicated, kind and skilled beyond measure. The team communicated expertly, everyone was well versed in our families needs and objectives and the crew was the best crew to have on site. They were polite, thoughtful, kind and gentle mannered which is important for me as I am home with young kids. I have never worked with a company that had such seamless communication between the field and the office, that called after each day of work to update my family on the project status, who communicated on my families behalf with town offices to enable us to register paperwork, and who communicated with our real estate team. They were respectful, worked carefully and quickly and did everything they could to during the busiest season on record for septic replacement in our town. Curtis enabled the replacement of our system in time for the new owners of our home and ourselves to meet the closing deadline. They understood how important it was for both families to have the septic installed, and they pulled out every single stop to install the system safely, perfectly and quickly. They explained the process, thought of everything they could to help expedite the process on our behalf as the sellers, and on the behalf of the family who bought the beautiful home. They were fastidious, kind, insightful and gifted professionals. I cannot recommend Curtis enough, and am grateful we had the opportunity to work with such a gifted team during a stressful time in our life (selling and purchasing a home). Their pricing is competitive and fair, their work is far better then what we could have hoped for- we are grateful beyond measure we worked with Curtis Septic. Curtis Septic I have never worked with a company of such exceptional professionals. They took on my families needs as their own, both anticipating and exceeding them. We had a home we purchased with a septic that needed replacing, and Curtis worked tirelessly to fit our project in when every other company did not make an effort to work with us on scheduling. The first day of work they had to utilize their 50 years of experience to tie in a system through some major unforeseen issues underground. One of the things we've learned through the septic process, the engineers can't see underground, so the septic company you work with needs the experience and expertise to adapt and overcome unforeseen challenges. We worked with Curtis on two separate septic systems, and each time they went so far above and beyond what we could ask of a company. Their communication, flawless service and kindness to our family as we moved through a critical process from replacement to board of health plan approvals, to work, to board of health final approvals. They explained every piece of the process, were on call for questions and were fastidiously clean, timely and kind to our children and animals. For such driven, experienced professionals, they have the best customer service I have encountered. The communication was exceptional and consistent, the field and office were always on the same page, they updated and relayed information more quickly then we knew to be possible. They were aware of approvals at different stages in the process before we were, and adapted to each and every obstacle. Replacing a septic can be stressful, it is an unforeseen expense and the work often is required after dealing with a problem related to the septic, so it can be emotionally taxing as well, and it's important to work with a team that understand that and helps you. Curtis is the only team to work with, they were incredible. They instantly resolved our problem by working through them effectively and quickly, they managed our anxiety and built us the best most effective, environmentally sound and perfectly working septic. Replacing a septic system can be stressful, working with Curtis resolved that stress and created the best system available. We are grateful we chose Curtis, and hope this helps anyone deciding who to work with in a stressful septic process.

The Curtis septic staff treated me like a crazy person, disrespected me, my home, and my wishes for how to care for my land. Stay away from them. The long: They began work the day we closed on the house (paid for by previous owner as part of deal). They didn't contact us at all before beginning work - the new owners. They cut down 12 mature trees without telling us this would happen. The whole reason we bought the house was it's natural setting. They blamed the arborist they contracted with and we're completely unsympathetic - trees are disposable to them. Next they cut our water well line while digging. They knew they did this, but didn't tell us. We planned to move in that day but had to delay by a week and move the week of Christmas. They came into the house under false pretenses, but actually wanted to see if the breaker was tripped. It wasn't, but the line was still cut and that's all they did to verify the water worked (they didn't turn on the faucet to check.) When we discovered this happened they made no attempt to repair it quickly - having no water and being unable to move in wasn't their problem, I guess. They blamed the previous owner for not telling them where the line was. I wanted to plant native plants (not grass) in the quarter acre of bare dirt they left behind. I asked about the source of the loam as I was worried about invasive species. They were entirely uncooperative. They told me I needed to put down grass and use round up forever. This is not something I wanted, but they had no respect for that and were unhelpful. I let them put down the loam and guess what? The $500 of native seeds I planted didn't come up because they were outcompeted by an invasive non-native weed. Pic attached. Now I have to manually pull a quarter acre of dense weeds and replant. I don't expect Curtis Septic to know about native plants, but I do expect them to respect the homeowners wishes and be helpful to achieve them. Finally, when they put down the loam they used heavy machinery to compact it. This is a horrible practice that makes it very difficult to plant anything afterwords. I was home when they did it so I went and talked to one of the employees (the only respectful person in the company I encountered). I was calm and constructive. The employee driving the compacter (I don't know machines) saw me, drove very fast straight toward me, stopped suddenly, jumped out and yelled at me "what's the problem!?" I had been calm but I got upset being talked to that way so I said with an attitude, "you're compacting my soil." He replied with a long tirade of yelling "how else am I supposed to do it?" And "you don't know anything about how this is done." Completely unprompted, he screamed at me. So the bottom line is all but 1 of the half dozen Curtis Septic staff members I encountered treated me like a weirdo and a child. They talked down to me, snuck around, and ignored my concerns. They didn't communicate even the most basic things we needed to know like when they would start work, what they would do, and that we had no water because of their lack of planning. The septic system seems to work I guess, but how we got here was awful and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Lenny and his son were willing to come out on a Sunday but when availability popped up, they came out as soon as they could. They worked quickly with minimal disruption and improved the layout of the piping to make it easier for future work. He was upfront about pricing, and when the problem was worse than what I had initially showed him, he took me through the entire thing and explained my systems layout, and explained why each issue needed to be fixed. All of my questions were answered quickly and confidently. It turned out there was a second leak that I hadn't noticed, but fortunately he is thorough and they caught it before it became an even bigger problem. I took his advice and decided to have them fix the entire thing rather than do a patch knowing they'd need to come out when the other side failed. I found his pricing extremely fair considering the amount of work that they did and how the finished job looked... and they even stayed later than they had planned to fix the stopper in our tub so we could give our one year-old a proper bath. He and his son are nice, honest, and they didn't try to feed me any BS. I felt comfortable with them in my home and won't hesitate for a second the next time I need a plumber. I suggest you end your search too and give LG Plumbing a call.
