Well, it turned out it wasn't the same. He didn't tell me and he didn't notify the board of health that there had been a modification. About two years later I called and requested a title 5 certificate. They recommended someone. He came out, took one cover off and immediately told me it was a hard fail. Then he gave me the name of a civil engineer and told me that I would have to put $30,000 into an escrow account and have a plan on file before I could list my house with a realtor. I wasn't having any issues with the system. He called me twice a week asking me why I hadn't called the engineering company yet. He also told me not to bother getting an estimate from anyone else because the town would reject a plan from any other company. That sounded fishy to me. I spoke to two other people and one gave me the name of a different service. That company came out and in 5 minutes told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the septic system. The filter was clogged and once he cleared it, it was fine. The filter was in the part that LaCombe had replaced. They should have told me that the filter had to be checked yearly even if the system didn't need to be pumped. Then a contractor I had spoken to asked me who had done the inspection for the title 5. When I gave him the name, he told me that he had had several encounters with him after he flunked the systems of other clients. In every single case, the system was completely fine. He was NOT a licensed inspector and he was a friend of one of the owners. I wonder how many people didn't get a second opinion? I secured a tile 5 shortly after.

I contacted Bobby Lacombe about a septic problem I noticed outside and with a light on inside. Bobby himself came over and diagnosed the problem and had both tanks emptied within the hour. He also sent out a local electrician to fix the electrical part. He also called me personally to make sure it was all set. Ive done a lot of repair type stuff at the house over the years, but this was the most personal experience with a local business I've ever seen. Thank you R J Lacombe Septic for the awesome service! I always found the employees who came to perform the work friendly and helpful. My problem started when I hired them to do a Title V inspection in December. I was quoted approximately $350, excluding the cost of any digging or excavation that needed to be done. They had to bring in a backhoe to dig up a 2x3 ft. hole in the lawn next to the driveway in order to get to the D-box. I expected to pay for the cost of the backhoe, but was stunned when the bill arrived. The $350 quoted had ballooned to over $1,500. But that was not the real problem. My septic system received a provisional pass, as there was a hole in the d-box and it needed to be replace. The inspector said it would cost about $2,500 and I gave him the OK to proceed. He said they would schedule it for January. Over the next 6-8 weeks I called 4 times asking them when they would get round to doing the job. I was told someone would get back to me but they never did. At the end of February I got a formal quote in the mail and when I spoke to the person in charge (I believe it was Vicky Fish, the owner) I was lectured by her that she was the only person the could quote or schedule a job and seemed not to care that the company had been unresponsive up till that point. To say she had an attitude is an understatement. Unless you are willing to put up with a lot of frustration, do not do business with this company!

Don't, just don't. Had used them for 16 years to pump and never had an issue, so when we sold and…read moreneeded a title V contacted them. Did not re-check current reviews (they are accurate). Said all the correct things. Bill jumped from standard $500 ish to $800 something and so it began. Additional digging... should have planned for machine and additional man... Folks this was standard stuff, no special anything was actually required! Returned with a machine to dig one 4'x4' hole to cover. Left invoice looking for additional $1800 claiming they pumped out the system, inspector fee, equipment operator fee. Machine left a hydraulic mess in the street I could see at night. Now silence on findings, calling to get info, nothing back... I knew this was BS and not willing to take the ride that I anticipated they were about to take me on. Took realtors recommendation for an alternative, this vendor was willing and did come on-site and perform Title V inspection for the standard fee. Provided findings and made correct repairs on time and budget. Back to Raggs/Comue - left messages, someone came during the day and cleaned up the street. They returned and attempted to access the property to continue something (who knows), told them to bounce until I get a call back to go along with the multiple messages telling them not to come onto the property until I am communicated with. Eventually got a call from the office (Blocked #) not a good sign. In addition to the $1800 she informed me it would be an addition $2600 to repair beyond that. Explained I considered the $800 a loss and if you wanted to pursue anything you could show me the manifest for the 2500 gallons you claim to have pumped! (Folks the system holds at most possible half of that and was not fully pumped) They took the choice I gave them, Steal the $800, disregard the additional $1800 in additional charges and go away. And no I was not interested in the additional $2500 in repairs they claimed it needed. Keep in mind, I had the system re-inspected and repaired correctly by an ethical vendor all in for $2600.00 before I got a call back. Just don't
