I was having a party on New Year's Day, and my disposal was leaking. Called Ale, left a message and he returned my call within 30 minutes. He gave me a price on the phone and stuck with it, even though he mistakenly scheduled it fo New Year's Day. Ale came out and replaced the disposal along with the drain pipes which were going in the wrong direction. Fair price and eveything works fine. Highly recomend! read more

Horrible experience. I was quoted $375/hour as an emergency rate and was told confidently over the phone that my leaking pipe would be taken care of that evening. At that price, I expected preparedness and for the issue to be taken care of. When the plumber arrived, he looked at the pipe briefly and said he didn't have the required part and the supply store was already closed. No repair was started. They did not ask me to send any photos of the leaking pipe beforehand, which could have helped them come prepared. Despite this, I was asked to pay $300 for the visit. I was also told a receipt would be sent. Weeks later, I still have not received one. Charging a premium emergency rate creates a reasonable expectation of readiness and professionalism. In this case, the repair did not even get off the ground, and basic follow-through (such as providing documentation) has been lacking. The experience fell far short of what was promised. read more

It seems like you need to work with Pi Piper through Angi's list or they don't treat you well. We had a horrible experience that mirrors the other 1 star reviews on here. They came by on a Tue and told us we had a broken heat exchanger and would order a part and fix in a day or two. Told us on Friday it never came and best solution to get our hot water back on after 4 days was to install an entire new boiler rather than wait for the part. We were desperate for hot water and completely in their hands at that point. They said $200/hr during the week or $300/hr they would come on Saturday morning. They estimated 4 hours. They came and finished in 2 hr 15 min. They wanted to get paid for travel time and asked to get paid for 3 hours. We agreed and added it up on the spot and paid $1,800 plus all misc fees. They later noticed they payment in person was $120 lower than they thought it should be and got super mad at us. When I asked where to send the $120 payment and said we didn't appreciate being yelled at, they told us how grateful we should be to them and the cost should be way more for what they did. They demanded we send another $1,600 not $120. I feel like we got put into some crisis situation by them when they kept saying our hot water was a day away, then they presented us a solution on Friday afternoon and made us seem ungrateful to them for finally fixing it with a whole new boiler that we didn't need or want. We paid them time and a half and and included travel and are still getting yelled at and told we should pay an additional $1,500 on a 2-3 hour job because they showed up early on Sat and it's a great value for the work they did. These two folks recently worked for my sister fixing a bathroom leak in an old house. The good news is that they fixed it quick and apparently solid. The bad news is that they didn't provide an estimate ahead of the work, or failed to mention that they will be charging for their services an outrageous 200 dollars an hour EACH! So an hour conversation to choose which toilets to chose? 400 bucks! Go get the toilets I am guessing another 400 or more! Two and a half days of work well over 10k to fix a few pipes in a small bathroom and replace two toilets. Why do you need two lincensed plumbers charging master plumber top rate for this job beats me. A plumber with an apprentice would do more then fine. But not disclosing the estimated cost is just plane unprofessional, even if you can't estimate it exactly, ball park "10 grand or so" would have been a wake up call. If we knew what this would cost we'd make different choices. Shady! read more

David came to service a Navian on-demand water heater that was leaking. He replaced an O-ring. Charge ~$250. The next day, the unit was still leaking. He came back and replaced the condensation pump. Charge ~$375. The next day, the unit was still leaking because he had forgotten to connect a tube from the unit to the condensation pump. I fixed it myself. Otherwise, it would have been another $250 or more. On the first visit, a competent plumber would have checked for other potential sources of a leak. He didn't. On the second visit, a good company would have realized they screwed up the day before and just charged me for the parts. They didn't. David also gave me advice about changes in the code that proved to be wrong. Never again. read more

My name is Scott, I just had Ale and Dave install a water heater that blew up and flooded my barber shop... without me asking, he made the job a priority planning to get to me in the afternoon... he ran into a conflict with a job that he was working on and immediately let me know so that I did not waste my day waiting for him... I appreciate that kind of respect for my time,,,,, we set a new time for the following morning..... he was at my shop first thing the next morning.... I was 35 minutes late to meet him which threw off his entire day yet he was not angry... they did the job in under three hours and left the work area cleaner then it had been in years... I think the he charged me a very fair price... these guys are stand up guys ***** i read some of the other YELP posts and they described Ale as angry and overpriced... These are the guys to call if you need work on your heating system. They were able to completely fix my new high efficiency heat and hot water system that was improperly installed about 2 years ago. They were able to do the work in 1/2 a day and now it works perfectly Friendly, professional and clean. I would highly recommend them and wished I had hired them to originally install the system. Unprofessional and rude. I was yelled at on the phone and treated in the most disrespectful manner. They came to fix the drain in our tub and instead managed to crack it causing us to purchase a brand new tub. Ale lost his temper in my house with my children present, and I was embarrassed for him. His quote to fix it was double what we paid as we went with a different plumber after that. Though he is "fully insured" it doesn't mean a thing b/c he didn't do anything to fix it on his own dime though he caused the problem in the first place. Ale and Dave know what they're doing, collective 40+ years of experience. Our previous serviceman didn't install the Navien unit correctly, so it failed within three years, pipes melted, saw was required. Dave immediately diagnosed reasons for failure onsite, incorrect exhaust piping, absence of relief piping below the unit, just basically wrong all around and wouldn't pass inspection. The two did an excellent job replacing the unit in one day removing archaic piping from a tanked system and installing brand new copper piping customized for our setup. Dave is Navien Certified which is key, visits headquarters in NJ every so often, which gives him access to specialized Navien support via pin. Most importantly, they are quick to respond to calls and within minutes I got a call back. It's common practice in this industry to get no response (as with our previous serviceman), but they will get back to you. Visually speaking, they did a great job, and one year later the unit is very happy. read more

Al and Dave did an excellent job replacing my hot water tank this week.

We had the town of Framingham knock on our door at 5:00pm on a cold Friday evening for a "routine" inspection of our boiler. When their radon detector got an off-the-chart reading from our 40-year-old gas boiler, they shut off the gas to the boiler, thereby cutting off our heat. With 2 small kids in the house, needless to say I was interested in getting this taken care of as quickly as possible. I called about 10 plumbers on Friday evening and left messages for most. Ale was the FIRST person to call me back (roughly 10 minutes after I left the message). I scheduled a quote from him and 2 other plumbers on Saturday morning and Ale was the most knowledgeable and the best price of the three. He promised he would begin the job of replacing my gas boiler first thing Monday morning, and sure enough he was knocking on my door at 8:00a Monday. 2 days later when the boiler was all installed, the all-copper plumbing was pretty enough to take a picture. When the boiler was first fired up, it would not heat properly due to a faulty control board. Instead of just moving on the next job and leaving us hanging, Ale spent the next 3 days calling the boiler company, getting parts overnighted, and coming back out to repair the boiler. Given all the extra time he put in, I was sure he was going to bill me extra labor, but he insisted that his quote is firm and would not take another penny from me. In summary: replacing your boiler is NEVER a pain-free experience, but Ale made the job as easy and painless as it could possibly be. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a plumbing job done. read more
