I cannot begin to describe how happy I am with Hone Landscape & Excavation. These guys are as good as it gets and so incredibly nice too. Jason gave us a bid well over a year ago. We waited on the massive project, but he was willing to come back and give us yet another free estimate. (The only thing that changed on his price was the cost of material - he didn't charge us any more on the original bid other than that). We ended up getting about 7 estimates, and it was clear that Hone was the easy choice. (The project included removal of two huge railroad tie retaining walls and replacing themwith manorstone walls. Excavating the yard, putting in french drains, leveling the entire yard, removing a dead tree, installing a couple of gravel patios, putting in new flower beds, two staircases, a gravel pad for a garden shed and putting in sod). Jeremy and Sergio were here promptly in the morning, every single day (weather permitting) Monday-Friday for a month. They were always patient and willing to talk to us during each phase of the massive project. We were included in all decisions every step of the way. We are more than happy with the work Hone Landscape did on our backyard -- the transformation they made is incredible! Our project was difficult, to say the least, since we live on a steep hill with very problematic access. While other companies we reached out to either inflated the quote due to the access issues or simply declined the job altogether, Hone Landscape didn't see it as a barrier! I couldn't be happier with the results of my project. My project consisted of retaining walls, removal of plants and construcion of a trellis. The project started on time and the crew always arrived on a timely basis. Saul and Moises were great to work with. The area was always clean when they left and they worked around me getting to and from the house with a steep and narrow driveway. Jeremy kept the pulse on the project and promptly answered all my emails and calls. He remembered everything we talked about in the initial walk through. Whether it was a good memory or good notes, it was spot on. I didn't like the looks of some stone work and they were happy to rework it to my liking. They made sure drainage would not be a problem. We worked with Jason this summer. Jason's price to landscape our back yard beat every other landscape in the area by thousands of dollars. He was able to do more and guarantee it for longer than anyone else we contacted. Jason's crew put in a sand-set flagstone patio, french drains throughout the yard, excavated half a foot of dirt and replaced it with better draining top soil, sodded the yard, added trees, and bought in a large decorative bolder. He completed everything within one week and met his quote exactly, even while tossing in a few extras, such as planting the trees, for free. His crew lightly damaged a neighbors plant, and the crew chief and Jason Hone himself apologized to the neighbor and bought them a new plant. We hired Hone Landscape to rebuild a retaining wall, trench around our garage to install adequate drainage and landscape the hillside. They were amazing from start to finish. Dealing with Jason (the owner) on the bid and additions to the bid was great. The crew were professional, very pleasant to work with and incredibly hard working. We worked with two different foremen on our job, both Jeremy and Grant, and it was a great experience. Additionally, the crew on our job throughout, Gustavo and Mitch, were helpful with answering questions, hard working and very professional. The job was done right on schedule for a fair price. Jason drove out several times before the job to give advice and to quote the job (haul yard debris away and gravel driveway). Job was done on schedule. His crew did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. Price was competitive. Jason came out later to inspect the work, found a few details that he though could have been done better, then came out on his own later to fix what he had found. read more
