Potentially the worst experience I have had while shopping for a vehicle.
The salesman, after agreeing to a price between us and the dealership, came back to ask if we were serious and ask for a credit card to hold the deal. We had continuously asked him to ensure that the sales manager was on board with this deal and to ensure the deal could go through, on the third time we asked he finally went to talk to his manager and came back and told us they would either waive a fee and provide the vehicle at the documented rate, or not waive the fees and take $700 off - which was basically the fee amount.
After agreeing to a price $1300 less than the list price, this was completely absurd.
We were told that the reason they could not move on the price was because they were a small family run dealership, and they do not make a lot of money on used vehicles. After we discussed with the manager - who also refused to even bother negotiating price and tried to tell us that the prices are made by an automated system, he then mentioned that he would have considered making the deal if we were local to them. I presume because they would have tried to get servicing done through us.
The amount of time already spent by the salesman to then refuse a clear sale, when we had already booked our ferry commute and told them we were on board and provided a credit card for a deposit, is absolutely asinine.
If you want to be swindled by a dealership who claims they aren't like the rest, and stand for good values, then this is the place to go, and if you're from the lower mainland, don't bother at Nanaimo Honda, it's not worth your time. read more
