    I finally took the advice of a Lyft driver who particularly recommended Rony in the sales department. (I was hanging onto my 14 year old car but enough was enough and today was MY day!) I called and spoke to the sales manager, Ron. And he sent Yama to [personally drive me to the dealership.] I felt relaxed during the entire process. Ron and Rony both came over to introduce themselves and welcome me. Yama listened to what I thought I wanted but showed me what I deserve. He advised me, we negotiated and I drove off in my first [new] car a few hours later. Prabesh handled the finance portion and was just as personable and professional as the other gentlemen. Thank you SO much! I highly recommend these guys, who interact more like family than coworkers.

    Long story short - I go through Costco to get a Honda and Marin Honda has the Civics at the base price (which a lot of local Honda dealers do not). I am immediately contacted (literally 20 seconds after I hit submit) by a salesman named Geovanny via email. I explain to him I want a Civic with NO extras, just the base car and I have already been approved for financing with Chase (in which Marin Honda is one of their approved dealers). I have a low mileage Honda for trade in and will also throw in a couple thousand cash for a down payment - couldn't be an easier deal for them. I just want to set everything up via email so I have to spend as little time as possible at the actual dealership. First he tells me I still need to fill out a finance app, it's their policy. I call up Chase and they say no, that's not remotely true, he just wants to shop me around to other banks so he can get a cut. I tell him I talked to Chase and they said that's not true and I will never use Cap One again so shopping me around is a waste of time - I don't care if he gets me a lower rate anywhere, I'm going with Chase. He says no problem, so I assume that's cleared up. We go back and forth, it should be easy but I've got to make sure he's not going to try and sneak anything in - I'm ready to buy and this should be a super easy deal for him. But it's not in his blood to make things easy. Car dealers always have to try and scam you. He sends over the deal and sure enough I see "After Market" stuff (see my screenshot). I go online and ask the experts about this stuff - he wants another 1500 bucks for this crap and sure enough, it's total baloney. It includes a "GPS tracker," a "appearance package" and "wheel locks." Here's what I found out: * The GPS tracker does nothing for you, doesn't actually cost anywhere near that amount, and is really meant for "buy here pay here" junk lots to have an easier time executing a repo for those who don't pay. * The "appearance" package better be super comprehensive for that price, but almost certainly isn't. Usually it's some clear vinyl stickers and "paint protection" (wax, ceramic coating, etc), but more often than not, it's literally nothing and just a junk fee. * Wheel locks might be worth it, but the actual cost is more like $20-50. This is another junk fee. They're claiming they're worth $357. If they're $50 wheel locks (at best) this is still over a 700% mark up. 1500 bucks for this which is worth about 50 bucks at best. When I raised a stink, he literally tried to claim "Costco requires this." I called Costco's car department. They do not require anything like this in any shape or form. Another lie. He then tells me in the next email "also, we still need you to fill out the finance application" after he told me he was good with my financing. I tell him we're done. He tried to sneak in 1500 bucks of charges hoping I would not notice and still wants to shop me around to other financiers even though I have it already set up with a bank they use. Lied to me about the extras that I was very clear about not wanting. Just lied to me about literally every single thing we've discussed. It's just in their DNA. They can't be honest and do a clear cut easy deal like this one. Everything laid out, should be done and done. Instead he destroyed an easy deal for the hope in picking up an extra grand. Imagine going through your life being a liar and making a living trying to scam people. Every morning this guy wakes up and his thoughts are all about how he can scam people. I suspect every part of his life, even outside selling cars, he just lies. There are thousands of ways to make a living and thousands of ways to go through life and guy like this think scamming people is the best way. I went online to a few places and brought up this specific incident and literally THOUSANDS of people said "that's Honda." Also note, I said this to Giovanny in our first email "please do not put me on any list, I do not want any email or hard copy junk mail from you," not 20 minutes later I started getting spam from his dealership. There's no way that's automatic. They can't get someone's email from his personal email - after my first email he gave them my info. Just a scammer from start to finish. When I was talking to people online, hundreds of them said "go to Mazda" or "go to Toyota" which I will do. I love Hondas but I refuse to deal with people who are clichéd scammers out of the movie Fargo. Note: I initially emailed the guy whose email is on their website in the "Contact us" section - has the guy's literal email. Emailed him a few times. My fourth or fifth email I asked "do you want a deal or not?" Never got a response from that guy. Another note: The "owner" Dave goes into other reviews here and comments on them. Notice no comment on mine? Why is that? Because everything this guy did is what they want him to do - it's Marin Honda's policy to lie and scam people as much as possible. Avoid

Once my car was transferred to the auto body shop, it became a completely separate system, team, and process--and the two sides clearly do not communicate. This disconnect caused confusion around payments, delays, and unnecessary out-of-pocket costs on my end, including having to pay $700 for a rental car that I originally was told I wouldn't need for that long. I was told my car would be dropped off in Novato once I made a payment. I paid the auto body shop, but the repair shop had a separate payment link that I couldn't access from my phone. I showed them the issue in real time, but instead of helping or offering another way to pay, they dismissed it and said it "worked fine" for them. Because of miscommunication between their teams, my car was not actually in Novato as promised, and I had to wait around for them to figure it out, which caused even more delays and inconvenience. On top of that, the person I was dealing with refused to call and help coordinate getting my car released or delivered until I paid through their system, even though their payment link was not working properly for me, which delayed me further and resulted in additional out-of-pocket costs due to their poor communication. No one took ownership of the situation, and the staff was rude and dismissive throughout the process. While the repair work itself may have been completed, the experience across both businesses was disorganized, unprofessional, and lacked basic customer service. I would not recommend.

Francisco and his team did a phenomenal job repairing my 2011 Chevrolet Silverado after it was hit in a parking lot. From the very beginning, they operated like a true first-class shop--professional, organized, and clearly experienced. They didn't just handle the repair; they also walked me through how to deal with the insurance company, helped set up a rental car, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The communication was outstanding from start to finish. I always knew what was going on, and the work was completed in a timely manner without cutting corners.     BEWARE! BAIT AND SWITCH! We took our vehicle there just for…read morethe smog check and before they conducted any work we told them that we have replaced the battery, if they can check in advance to make sure system is ready for smog check or not. So, they won't fail it for no reason. Yes, they did basic OBD check and assured us that it is ready for a smog check so it won't fail for that reason. We agreed to do the smog check then after 5-10 minutes they failed the vehicle and rude woman that works there told me that it is not her fault, so their OBD machine couldn't read that there is still pending code for the battery. Despite letting her to know about my suspicion in advance she still lied and failed our vehicle also charged us full smog inspection fee and assured us that we just need to drive it for few days then bring it back for free smog test. Since they won't charge if we bring it back within 30 days. We drove it less than 15 days and brought it back, car passed the smog check but they insisted that we have to repay again, since it is a separate than initial inspection. They are rude and liars. Please be careful and do not waste your time and money with those dishonest people. I'm going to file a claim with BAR! We can't let them to screw our community!

I have only met Scott a couple of times - instantly likeable, instantly interested in the car, issue, situation, etc. and clearly knowledgeable...but I can't tell you much beyond that. The reason I haven't dealt much with Scott has nothing to do with Scott. But, when I take my car to MM - I deal directly with their head mechanic Mark. This is because ~20+ years ago (hmm...maybe even more), I asked for a referral from gryphon moterwerke (g-werke dot com) in Berkeley for the 'best mechanic they knew of in the bay area' who might be able to get the work I needed done (minus the HEFTY price tag that tends to come with most Gryphon estimates) - Without hesitation, or even a moments consideration - almost with the affect of someone rattling off any known, irrefutable fact ... eg: 'cars have engines'. They told me 'Mark at Marin Motorsports'. At the time, I lived in Berkeley so that seemed a bit far - so I asked them if they had any suggestions closer, the answer was a hard 'No.' Awkward silence (well awkward for me anyway), - 'the only person I know of who will do the same quality work that we do here is Mark in Marin.' I was more than a little stunned by the answer - expecting at least a couple of follow up places - perhaps with caveats like 'Try XYZMotors, I hear they are good - but I dont know how trustworthy they are' OR SOMETHING. So, now I was sufficiently intrigued and I gave Mark a call and sure enough, he knew every nuance of every description I gave him of each item (salt & pepped with questions here and there). Then he told me what he thought the issue was, but obv he would need to take a look first, etc. I finally got my car out to Marin and he popped the hood, pushed here, adjusted there and gave the exact diagnosis that he had given over the phone. It was pretty impressive. Then, top it off by the fact that the cost of all of the work was almost exactly 35% of what Gryphon was going to charge to do the same. . . well ... I was sold. I have never taken another car anywhere else and never will. This is the only place to EVEN CONSIDER taking your VW or Audi (I say VW/Audi because these are the only two types of cars I have PERSONALLY ever taken there - but pretty damn sure any German car would be identically treated). Currently, I have an Audi S5 and he not only is everything I described above ... right before I leave the shop, I always ask the same question: 'given that i drive in 'XYZ' manner, what should I keep my eye on as a potential next repair / issue. He always lets me know what he thinks the next couple of issues will be and when(ish) I might start to see an issue. Never, one time, has he been wrong. Reading this review back to myself, I get that it sounds like an infomercial for Marin Motorsports - believe me it is not. You will NEVER find a more capable, honest, friendly shop - AND THEN to top it all off with a little cherry on top - it also ends up being the most affordable option!!! (every once in a while - mostly for fun at this point), I have had work done by MM and afterwards called one or two 'highly rated' shops in the area to find out what they would charge me for the list of items on my receipt. I have NEVER found a lower estimate (but did get one or two within $50 ... which in auto repair I more or less consider a 'tie').
