My husband and I used Gary and his services twice, and will be using him again on our next home…read morepurchase! Unfortunately the first home we had Gary inspect we did not purchase but we made this decision based on Gary's inspection services of the home. His inspection likely saved us $50,000 + and a head-ache of problems with this particular home. We enjoyed his approach and extreme attention to detail within the report / follow-up explanation that we used him for the second home we set out to purchase. His second report was just as fantastic as the first! Gary really takes his time yet is super efficient and delivered the report to us within minutes of finishing the in person inspection. He spent another hour or so meeting with us in person to explain every detail and made recommendations on how to address each of the items he had pointed out as potential fixes. We would recommend Gary to any of our friends and family!! Great price, great service and overall super pleasant person to do business with. Thank you Gary!!!

We set up our home inspection with Gary Ladwig for a 3000 sq ft home for 10am. He arrived 15…read moreminutes early to start setting up and getting his tools out. A GREAT start from the get go. I followed Gary around for the full 4 hours that he inspected our future home. This guy knows his stuff. He checked everything...and i mean EVERYTHING!. He ran the washing machineS..yes both, and the dryerS..yes both, checked the fridgeS, the stoveS ..all burners, and ovenS. He checked all the sinks for proper drainage, leaks. Flushed toilets, ran bathtubs, checked all visible outlets for electrical power, and properly wired outlets (of which many were incorrectly wired), checked the electrical panel innards, garage door opener, lights in entire house. Gary got up on the roof (as he saw it safe to do so), inspected it, took pictures. Gary got up into the attic, and checked the underside of the roof, and everything else up there. did i forgot anything?..yes i did..did Gary?..NO HE DIDN'T ! I would reccomend A-Z in a heartbeat ... oh, and did i mention i learned a whole lot about our future home while shadowing Gary for 4 hours?..i did.

I have worked with this family business for over 15 years…read more They have the highest level of integrity that I have experienced in the home inspection industry. I would strongly recommend them to inspect any type residential property before finalizing you purchase. Bonnie Hastings Re/max Crest Realty Vancouver, BC

I had a mixed experience with these guys…read more The first time we used them, Gary came out and he was amazing. Very thorough and black and white. Super professional and very objective about the house we were looking at. We lost that house to a higher bid but bid on another a month later and called Douville again. Gary wasn't available so his brother Randy came out. We figured the level and quality of service would be the same since it's a family operation. Immediately on meeting Randy, he was the polar opposite of his brother, constantly laughing and kidding around, and was way too friendly with the realtor. In fact, I had to break up casual conversations with the realtor twice. My wife and I were concerned about his inspection within 15 minutes of it starting. Throughout the entire inspection, he was incredibly casual about obvious issues and was unable to tell us anything about most of the questions we asked him; was this wall bearing, why is this wall rotted out, and may other things. He blew off most issues and drew our attention to some textbook problems but then again, was very casual about them. My wife and I knew that this inspection had been a complete waste of money, except for his disclosure of some black staining inside the roof. He was unable to tell us anything else we didn't already know. Here we are 3 months later and the house is a complete lemon. The foundation is leaking, and the heat pump system has failed. There is a very large soft spot on the deck he never mentioned, we did once we moved in, and it's location means we have to rip out the ceiling in the garage in order to properly evaluate it, and it could be a much bigger issue. I could go on, but the main issue was that my wife and I felt from almost the beginning that he was working with the realtor. He was singing the praises of this house from the get go, and it had some pretty obvious issues that he downplayed. We had a bad vibe, not from him, he seemed nice enough, but we strongly felt we were wasting our money and wouldn't get solid advice. He was the third inspector I've ever used, and the other two were excellent, one being his brother. So if you are going to use Douville, make sure you get Gary.
