We love Hometown Roots! It's our favorite local date night spot, and we always love going back for the rotating special menu.

Loved this place. Enjoyed dinner out while visiting family in Evansville. IN. This restaurant was across the River in Henderson, KY. The complimentary skillet cornbread alone was worth the short drive. We were a party of 7 and everyone left full and happy. From the Kentucky Hot Brown to the pulled pork (humongous) nachos, everything was delicious. Comfort food at its best. I ordered the sweet sorghum salmon. It was so flavorful and moist. Cooked perfectly. I didn't get many pics of the different entrees as no one would wait for me before digging in. read more

My wife and I arrived at 4 on a Saturday and was seated immediately. Staff was very informative with menu choices. The complimentary cornbread did not disappoint, it was delicious. We ordered the nachos for our appetizer, the nachos were huge so I would recommend ordering for more than 2 people..... unless your really hungry. I ordered the Cajun catfish and wife orders the Buffalo chicken Mac N cheese. The food was hands down the best food I've had in this area. The food was prepared with great seasoning and everything we ate made it hard to put our forks down. I'd definitely recommend going here for any occasion, great staff, food, and atmosphere. read more

Wonderful place in downtown Henderson. Great service and the fried chicken and pimento cheese grits were some of the best I've ever had!

Four of us ate dinner here and were lucky enough to be seated right away because there were no other tables available. A fun atmosphere with great service and great food. We enjoyed the double bang shrimp, meat loaf, salmon patties, ribeye, pimento cheese grits, hash brown casserole...all were delicious. We'll be back! read more

Service was good, Martini's were right on. Had the vegetable platter with country greens (way over cooked and salty) pimento cheese grits (ok but overcooked too, jalapeno creamed corn (good!) and Brussel Sprouts (way, way over cooked, charred and greasy. I just expected a little better, I had the Shrimp and grits last time and it was real good. Hubby had the so-so Ribeye Steak. Nice place overall - need to get their good to the table in less than overcooked state. read more

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of hosting our rehearsal dinner at Hometown Roots. We had the side private room to ourselves and it was absolutely beautiful! Casey helped us make every detail exactly how we wanted!! The food was absolutely delicious, our wedding party and guests are still talking about it! The staff went out of their way to make sure we had drinks refilled and kept the food coming! Finally, Casey made sure to bring in our favorite dessert, Derby Pie, which was unbelievably delicious. By far the best food I have eaten in Henderson, Kentucky! I have been here a week for work and have eaten at a plethora of places while my family went to Miami. So, I have been craving a Cuban Sandwich! When I saw they had their own take on Cuban sandwiches called a KY Cuban I had to try it. It was delicious! Pretty pricey but good atmosphere and good service. It paired well with the ipa I bought, not sure of the name but it was good. You also get free cornbread in a mini skillet as your free carb while you wait, which was neat. A must try! read more

I think the food is very good and the service is okay. The Mac and cheese came out without any cheese which was weird. But I had the shrimp and grits and it was AMAZING. We love HR'. One of our favorite places to eat in Henderson. They have a great varied menu, and the food is always served fresh.

Trendy/Casual restaurant we ran across on the square while visiting Henderson. A perfect choice if you're in the mood for southern comfort food. The fried chicken was excellent and piping hot. The sides were great too; however, they were not nearly as hot and my dad actually had to send his back to be reheated. The staff was friendly and helpful. Halfway through our time there it did seem like our waitress was less attentive and we were left with empty drink cups and waiting to ask the waitress to reheat the side, but as we were close to finishing up our meals it seemed like the waitress became more attentive because they needed our table....asking us about the check and to go boxes while I was still eating. I actually stopped the waitress while she was asking about the check to ask her about dessert and I'm so happy that I did. I didn't get a picture because it was gone so fast but the banana pudding was delicious!!! If I'm ever back in the area I will be back!! read more

This is one of those "you gotta try it" places. Great food and excellent wine/beer/cocktail selection. Bourbons on the shelf that you only hear about, and here you can have them! Mr. Todd will walk you through the selection process. Regarding the food it's the best Henderson offers. Try the pimento cheese balls as an app. Then settle back for a catfish dinner. Wtf you can't call an order in. Uhhhh call me crazy but when you leave the gym the last thing you wanna do it go to the bar to place a freaking order and then wait 20 mins. I ain't got time for that and I'm sure tons of peps on this app will agree. Sux too b/c the food looked pretty good. I am guessing they are new or can't figure out how to write an order down and place it in a box, it's in a square w/o adequate parking OR they think this will entice people to sit and have a drink. We descended on them on a Friday evening. Our party grew from 4 eventually to 16. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, personable and flexible. One of the owners talked with me and my wife when we were wandering around the building, explaining the history of the venue. The bar manager personally talked with us and pointed out features in the menu. We felt welcomed, despite the chaos we created with our ballooning group. The food was superb! We ate at Hometown Roots last night & it was AMAZING!! Everything we had was outstanding & the service was exceptional. As soon as we sat down our server (Makenzie B) brought a pan of hot corn bread to our table. I often judge a restaurant by the quality of the bread they serve so I was pretty sure we were in for a treat & I was right! We started with the pimento cheese fritters which were awesome. I had the roast beef Manhattan with southern style green beans. My husband had sweet tea & buttermilk brined fried chicken with red beans & rice & hash brown casserole. We brought half of our entrees home so we could share the smoked brownie s'more for dessert. Makenzie even sent home a pan of cornbread with the special butter so we could have it with our leftovers!! The short drive from Evansville was more than worth it! Best meal I've had out in a while. I was visiting family and have been hearing great things about Hometown Roots so I was excited to give it a try. Any foodie will love this place. Both the pimento cheese fritters and the fried peppers were great appetizers. I ordered the shrimp and grits, my kids ordered the pork chop, and my brother ordered a Cajun catfish and red beans and rice special. All excellent!
