Our sprinkler servicing company closed during COVID, so we had New England Landscape and Design winterize our sprinklers in November 2021. According to my husband, he asked the owner if he needed to get into the house to access the water shut-off and was told no. Yesterday we opened the sprinkler lines to find an exterior pipe had burst in the winter due to improper winterization. According to the owner, my husband told him the water was shut off and he didn't need to come in the house. Classic case of two differing stories, but knowing we have always had someone come in the house to do this task, I know my husband wouldn't have said this. I emailed the owner a video of the broken pipe and he claimed several times my husband told him the inside was taken care of. He is unwilling to fix or even work with us to rectify this mistake. I was looking for a compromise and go nothing. Additionally, he brought up that he felt this was the "gutters all over again." I had forgotten about that, but his team was a week and a half late to clean our gutters. I inquired about them coming from my office one day and learned they were in the middle of cleaning our gutters when I inquired. I didn't know that because I wasn't home. My gutter inquiry must have unknowingly struck a nerve, because the owner reminded me of the gutters today when I was trying to work with him to come up with a resolution. Now I am stuck paying for a plumbing repair for his mistake. His customer service attitude is terrible, and he isn't taking responsibility to make things right. Beware. I am disappointed because we have always been pleased up until this point and have recommended this company to many others in town. But, his callous behavior today has changed our minds and we will be warning others about this company from here on out. Update: We have contacted three sprinkler companies since I filed this initial review to fix the broken valve and look into installing a backflow preventer. Each person stated that it is protocol and common knowledge for anyone to turn on outside faucets once they are done blowing out the line to ensure there is no water in the line. Had they done this we would not have had a broken valve because they would have realized the water wasn't turned off inside. Each person also told us backflow preventers are typically installed inside and indeed, we had our new sprinkler person verify and locate our backflow preventer, so NE Landscape inaccurately told us our system wasn't to code. They were correct that no one takes responsibility for their actions. A simple "Gee, your husband I misunderstood each other! What can we do to come up with a solution?" would have solved the problem when I first approached them with this. Instead, they refused to take any fault and continued to blame the customers over and over. Then they brought up something about the gutters that we had no recollection of. I recalled that they supposedly scheduled us for gutter cleaning on 11/1 and they came instead on 11/11. We didn't see the crew when I texted them and then apologized that they were there and we hadn't seen them. We were happy customers of theirs for years and are disappointed in their demeanor and business response. It's too bad, because we are about to install a huge retaining wall in the back and were going to have them do the job. Attitude is everything, and we are not pleased with their approach to this situation at all. Others in their industry have all said they made the mistake by not checking the faucets before they left last fall after blowing out the lines. We paid $200 for someone to fix their mistake and still, they are being unprofessional about the situation and taking zero responsibility.

We hired him in October 2018 to restore and modify our existing retaining wall. Soon after, he bait and switched us with another contractor, Mike Masciarelli, aka: Randy on Call. To this day I have never met Mike. Mike was supposed to be the "communicator" and "project manager" while John would be the mason. 6 months later the job is less than half done and both John and Mike have been MIA for over two weeks at this point. In fact, there are parts of our existing retaining wall that are in worse shape than before we hired Perennial Connection. John demolished some portions for upgrading and they currently remain demolished because they never returned. Throughout these past 6 months of torture John and Mike would go days - even a week plus - without responding. Then a text would appear: "sorry we'll be there tomorrow" to tide us over. Then they would fail to show up again. John and Mike are also poor at taking direction and/or poor masons. I'm a designer myself so was able to provide very detailed drawings of what we wanted. The little work that they did do wasn't what we spec'd and it was sloppy. The lack of communication and attention to detail is astounding. DO NOT hire these people. They will more than disappoint you. They will torture your mind and steal your money without delivering what they promise.

Jose came out and gave us an estimate that included burying the downspouts to avoid water dumping on the new patio. He was prompt, communicative, and gave us an estimate in a few days. We scheduled them to come the following week. He and his brother showed up right on time, and promptly began digging things out. I was impressed with what they were able to do in a single day. Because rain was in the forecast, they were flexible on coming back a second day to screed the final paver base. It rained particularly hard and it became clear that there was an issue somewhere. When they came back a few days later, I pointed it out to Jose and he promptly dug out the spot and ensured it was properly filled in and compacted. They finished the job and cleaned up. After the first day, they left the site relatively clean (considering they knew they'd be back). Overall, I would 100% recommend these guys and would love to have them back to do additional projects at our home. They were responsible, competitively priced, and wanted to ensure things were done right.
