This was the cannoli I purchased today (6/7/24). Good, crispy shell but little filling which, to me, is the best part of the cannoli.

Paid $4.25 for a take-out cannoli that had very little filling. I could actually look through the cannoli to the other side of my classroom. :(

Full salad plate in the back. I took 2 helpings off it- mine is in front. Still plenty left on the main plate!

Disclaimer- my favorite pizza place since I was a kid growing up 1/2 mile away from their old location. The "new" location was a Friendly's years ago. Still love their pizza. Went with Mom for dinner. We split a house salad- it was enough for 3! See pic. We got the 8 cut meat lovers pizza- again easily enough for 3-4 ppl. Yummy too. They have beer and wine too. Also known for their takeout food - and scrumptious desserts! Go go Homestyle!

Probably one of the worse experiences I have ever had with a pizzeria. My father was visiting from Naples. He wanted a marinara pie. So I knew I had to find a skilled Pizzeria. Because most of the new generation of kids have no clue about quality. I have heard good things about Homestyle. I called to place my order for delivery. The kid who was taking my order sounded confused and with no real knowledge of the pizza industry. Uggh. So I tried to explain. A 12 cut pizza with marinara, fresh garlic, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil. I even called back afterwards to speak to someone else to make sure it was understood correctly. I wanted my father to be atleast fairly happy. Huge disappointment. I paid the same price that someone would pay for a Margarite Pizza. With no cheese on it and no Sliced tomatoes. So I figured whoever was making the pizza would put alil extra work into a simpler pizza without the more expensive items on it. I was wrong what I received was an insult. A disappointment. Shame on homestyle pizza. Attached are two pictures. What a marinara pizza should look like and what I received for just over $30. Very disappointing. Crust was like cardboard, sauce was good, no fresh garlic slices, a few specks of jarred mince garlic, no extra virgin olive oil. Bland and dry. I will be spreading the word. Avoid Homestyle Pizzeria

Overpriced. A cup of soup is closer to a thimble. $6 gets you a much smaller cup than you think for take out.

We all became sick and all ordered different items. Marinara sauce spilled out all over my kids chicken fingers? Disappointing

The pizza is akin to the type of pizza you'd get from a birthday. You can tell when a pizza place uses fresh, high quality ingredients, and Poppies just doesn't. The dough is clearly pressed and the pizza (and wings) are just poor quality. The service was good enough and the overall cleanliness of the place appeared good. However, I can not recommend as a good place to go for a quality slice.

They offer online ordering, but it is slightly more with the service fee than ordering in person or over the phone. This location has been the home to All In The Family Pizza (moved), Roman's Pizzeria & Deli, and Tasty Pizzeria. I stopped by Poppy's Pizzeria for a quick bite. The place was quite busy with the phone ringing. To make things quick, I got the 2 Pizza Slices with Topping & 20 oz drink for $8 plus tax. I chose a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage which were heated up in the oven. There is not much seating inside, but there is ample picnic table seating outside shared with Poppy's Ice Cream. The hot pizza slices were pretty good, which had a thin firm soft and chewy crust topped with the right amount of tomato sauce, meat toppings and melted cheese. I will have to try their calzone on the next visit.

First off, presentation and crust game? Solid. You're getting a good bake, decent structure, and slices that hold their own. Not floppy, not overly stiff right in that respectable middle lane. That's a win. Now let's talk about the sauce... because this is where things get mixed. Taking a look at some of the chatter on Yelp, there's a noticeable trend and I've got to agree. The sauce is inconsistent. Some bites hit with a nice tang and balance, but others feel either a little too sweet or lacking depth. It doesn't always punch through the cheese like you want it to. For a place trying to compete in the pizza game, sauce consistency is everything--and right now, it's just not elite. Cheese and toppings are good--not mind-blowing, but definitely respectable. No complaints there. Quality is there, just not standout.

The businesses are located a couple of blocks from the gateway marking the entrance to Schenectady's Little Italy. So much history, food and romance in this neighborhood. We had Sunday brunch at More Perreca's. The bakery is closed on Sunday but I got a Sausage Lettuce Tomato sandwich served on toasted Perreca's bread. It was so delish. The Italian sausage was served with lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo and side salad. Everything was so fresh. My $11 meal was reasonably priced. The garlic purée was amazing. They need to bottle it. I'd buy some. My friend had the Mac and cheese and an espresso martini. He loved both. Rachelle was our server. She was wonderful. Very helpful. She explained some of the menu to me because there were a number of Italian sausage dishes. The food was prepared quickly which was great because we were hungry. Rachelle came back later to check on us. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile while busily chewing a bite of sandwich. The restaurant is charming with nice tin ceilings and big windows to let the light in. There are many booths which makes it cozy. When we arrived most of the tables were full. Based on the chatter in the room it sounded as though a lot of friends had gathered at the restaurant to literally break bread over brunch. The menu offers a nice variety: from egg breakfasts, assorted salads to Italian classics. It was an all around yummy and enjoyable experience. I let Rachelle know that we'll be coming back.
