It's not filled with bells and whistles and the most modern decor. They don't need that. What attracts a lot of people to this place is the delicious food and the great service. I cannot stress that enough. The soups are phenomenal here and they are filled with stuff inside. You're not going to get that watery type soup. You're getting that chunky chunky chunky soup that makes you wonder why you're so full all of a sudden. The people work hard here and they are running around. They make sure you're doing alright. This is a true "mom and pop" type of shop that is worth it - multiple visits. I can see this place getting more popular than the space can handle. Perhaps they will expand elsewhere, but they deserve that success.

The chicken salad was perfect on a brioche roll, fresh lettuce, and for perfect amount of mayo. Everyone really enjoyed their lunch in this eclectic spot. Stopped and shopped downstairs at the antique shop afterwards.

Still has that beer taste but pretty light 5.5/10 Smokehouse chili - actually one of the best chili! It's on the sweeter side but has a kick and is very yummy! 8/10 Pulled pork - very good, very juicy and tender! No significant flavor stands out but also not bland at all 8/10 Brisket - unfortunately this one was pretty dry. Maybe other times they're better since our friend mentioned it was drier than normal when they go and it was missing the fat on top too so we got very lean pieces 4/10 Ribs rack - pretty tender and good flavor overall! Not incredibly juicy but not dry too 6/10 Macaroni and cheese - eh 3/10 Garlic Parmesan French fries - nothing special here either 4/10 French fries - also eh I guess the flavoring in the garlic parm did make it better and thus more boring 3/10 Corn bread - prob best corn bread! Sweet and moist 7/10

We had lunch here today…read more My wife ordered a Ruben, I ordered a Bollinger burger topped with pulled pork and onion rings. We also ordered one Diet Coke and one unsweetened iced tea. My wife graded the Reuben five stars. She said it was very tasty and she enjoyed the crispy toasted bread. I can only give my burger with toppings three Stars. The pulled pork was OK, not as smoky or flavorful as I like. The burger was well done... Although I might've been able to ask for it with a different level of doneness? The coleslaw was OK, but I prefer it not so watery. The potato chips were excellent. The service was excellent, prompt and thorough. The meals were served on metal cooking sheets with parchment paper liners. Interesting plating method but the cold metal cooking sheets soon made the hot sandwiches cold too. Would have been better if the metal cooking sheets were pre-warmed up. Cost of meal was $42 + gratuity

Found this little gem here on yelp as I find most restaurants when I'm traveling…read more First, I have to say what a wonderful waiter Derrick was. He helped make our evening special and he proves that you can be a "professional " and be a waiter. Ok. We started with the crab soup. It was salty like the ocean, and very tasty with some large bits of crab. Highly recommended. We each had a house salad and they were so big that we could have shared one. We also ordered the seafood fettuccine and shared that dish. Glad we shared because it was more than one person could eat. Plenty of jumbo shrimp and scallops and the Alfredo sauce was filled with crab meat. Just yummy! We enjoyed the ambience of the dining room and I would definitely love to come back here again (and again!).

Place was very clean and restrooms were stocked and clean too. Great feel and local ambiance which was enjoyable. Ordered up a beer and looked over the menu and decided upon the French onion soup and the Chicken Chesapeake sandwich. Soup arrived in good order and I was told to be careful as it was extremely hot. However, the cheese being melted but not toasted was a sign that the soup was not hot. It was lukewarm at best, and the flavor was muted as if the onions did not have time to sufficiently caramelize or that they did not use enough base to bring out the flavor in the broth. The sandwich was a wonderful 180 degree turn from the lackluster soup. It was hot, delicious, cooked and presented very well with hot Cristy fries that were perfect in the middle when eaten. Over all the location did not disappoint, aside from the soup. It may have been an off day, who knows, but I'd certainly be back to try another sandwich or entree based upon the quality and presentation given to me at lunch.
