Beautiful location, friendly staff, and food right from the garden. Chef Katarina is a delight.

I hate to leave bad reviews...but it's sad to see something that used to be good, now be so bad…read more The first red flag should have told me What I needed to know, the lack of customers. This place used to be so packed. only two tables were occupied. Also, the caliber of staffing is not the same. I was used to bread being served while we waited for our food. Now you have to order the "bread basket". it wasn't too expensive, so inndid t really care. when it came out, it seemed like ciabatta from Costco. it was served with whipped garlic butter. Wasn't bad tasting at all though. The entrees were good (beef tips / meatloaf). another red flag was the lack of desserts. Kula Bistro used to be know for desserts. I feel they were they were never a letdown if you just wanted desserts. Now, the showcase is pretty much empty. Now to the most shadiest part, the payment. I already feel the prices are too high for the experience you get here. When we went to pay, there's a cash price and credit card price. This wasn't posted anywhere and a big surprise. To me, this makes this place feel trashy and cheap, but with a big price tag. There's a reason this place is empt. Now I know.

To be honest, ever since our Maui trip, I have this food pics on my desk digital album, and when the lunch hour hits, I just look at the pics and start day dreaming about going back to the restaurant again. My husband ordered the wagyu beef and I ordered the pawn pasta dish, besides the pasta sauce is a bit salty for me, but in all it's so freaking delicious guys!!! GO visit!!!!!!

I'm absolute sucker for diners and this so far is my favorite. Grandma's coffee house is a perfect…read morename, I felt like I was in my grandma's house. The place was warm, very well decorated and had merch for sale. The staff were friendly and helpful, I ordered a loco moco, my wife got the meat loaf loco moco. My kids got breakfast sandwiches and French toast. WOW, EVERYTHING was so well cooked. I cannot remember having French toast that tasted SO good without syrup or anything. The sandwiches were great, eggs not overcooked, cheese melted, bacon cooked well, not soggy. Can't wait to go back!

Tell me you don't want me to be here without actually saying, "I don't want you here."…read more We've been coming to Grandmas for over 10 years, and it's always been one of those comfy, cozy places that just feels good. This visit felt really different. Today we brought family visiting from off-island after a walk on Thompson Road. We decided to stay and dine in instead of taking it to go. Looking back... maybe takeout would've been the better option. Ugh. I honestly hate writing this. The only reason I am is because I'm hoping someone from the Grandmas team reads this and actually cares enough to make some changes. If you don't know, you can't grow. Today our experience looked like this: * Watching several people get served after us even though we ordered first. Waiting for almost 30 minutes. * Our order getting mixed up and handed to the wrong person * Confusion about what muffins were available... okay fine, I'll take a blueberry muffin. Then halfway through eating it, I found a hair baked into it * Ordering potatoes without onions because of an allergy, having it made wrong twice, and needing it redone * Noticing the restaurant itself looked like it could use a deep cleaning, including ceiling fans with layers of dust And maybe this was just an off day, but the staff vibe felt... off too. Disconnected. Kind of cliquey. Like everyone seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving guests. The warm, welcoming feeling Grandmas always had just didn't feel like it was there today. As a customer, I honestly felt like I was intruding or inconveniencing the staff just by being there, and that's a really strange feeling in a place we've loved for so long. That's honestly the part that made me the most disappointed. We've loved Grandmas for years, which is why this was tough. After reading several other reviews, it seems others may have had similar experiences too. I really hope things improve and staff morale lifts, because as customers, we feel it. Mahalo for reading. I truly hope this helps and leads to positive changes.

I think the last time was before they changed ownership. Walked in & the vibe was overall different. The store is brighter with music playing . Ive also noticed that they're now on social media, which I'm sire has helped bring in business for them. I went for the special which was the hot pastrami sandwich & I chose Caesar salad for my side. It came on a nice thick bread filled with a generous portion of meat. Really tasty & even though I didnt eat it right away the bread wasnt soggy. I'm really not a salad girlie, but decided that it was a good pairing for that sandwich. If you havent been into stillwells in years, definitely make it back there if you can.

Obviously the big draw at this popular bakery is their sticky treats, cream horns are in 2 sizes and decadent, Hubby loved their fruit tart and the apple slice. Larger cakes are available too. We stopped by for breakfast after dropping off a friend at OGG for an early flight as they were one of the few places open at that time. Hubbs chose the special Island Boy and enjoyed the spam, bacon, soft scrambled egg and French toast combo. Very filling. I opted for the fried egg sandwich with 2 eggs, mayo, cheese and tomato on Rye. I was a little disappointed as it didn't have too much taste of rye with soft bread. It definitely needed hot sauce to pep it up. However it was filling and cooked to order. They also do salads and sandwiches and sell coffee and Hawaiian salt too. We will definitely be back for sticky treats again.
